The tiniest horse in the world.

I thought I was resistant to this sort of thing, but I vocalized a heartfelt "aw" — with my office door open, and I'm a little embarrassed. The teensy-tiniest bit.

So now we know what you and Meade and you use on your morrell hunts.

This from a person who can remove a morel from its place of nurture and shamelessly impale it on a tree branch for the sake of art and entertainment?

Surreal: Phantasmagoric; characterized by fantastic imagery and incongruous juxtapositions

"shamelessly impale it on a tree branch for the sake of art and entertainment"

We put it there for safe-keeping!

Is it really "impaling" when there's already a hole? The stems are hollow. It fit perfectly and nonviolently.

I read your post with my office door open. I opened the link.

Thurber says flowered shower curtains make a horse comfortable indoors.

Why do girls bond with horses?

KCFleming म्हणाले...

Probably quite tasty with morels and a nice cab. ;)

Dustin म्हणाले...

This is how they make those little jello fan cups.

Little horseys.

OK, it's damn cute. I'd LOVE to see a little kid midget ride it around next to a full size cowboy, lassoing a chihuahua.

A midget riding a tiny horse, lassoing a chihuahua.

That was Twin Peaks, Season Two, right?

Beth म्हणाले...

That horse is just a gate-way drug, Althouse. You'll have cuteoverload.com bookmarked, any day now.

Lynne म्हणाले...

Isn't this little guy about the same size as the prehistoric proto-horses one reads about in textbooks?

Jurassic Horse.

Bless his little heart. He isa cutie!

KCFleming म्हणाले...

It's Hello Kitty with hooves.

Dustin म्हणाले...

Strangely enough, I was thinking about the Twin Peaks Arm-Of-Mike Midget.

KCFleming म्हणाले...

At least you weren't contemplating Equus.

NTTAWWT.

Lynne म्हणाले...

...And if he runs fast, they can name him Sea Crouton!

MamaM म्हणाले...

LOL, I am all for safekeeping, perfect fit and the nonviolent use of holes and stems.

Also incongruous juxtapositions

Why do girls bond with horses?

``I was once involved in a panel discussion at which the idea was voiced and elaborated that riding horses was a good way for girls to prepare for marriage because it gave them practice controlling something powerful and dangerous between their legs. I thought, and at enormous risk of self- exposure said, that controlling something powerful and dangerous between my legs didn't characterize either marriage or horsemanship as I had experienced them. It is true that some activities that fall under the heading ``sex'' can be dangerous, but before AIDS it was the thing the man sometimes had in his hand, and not the thing between his legs, that was worrisome. And there are some differences between husbands and horses that I thought worthy of consideration, including the fact that in the case of husbands direct mutual genital contact is to the point, whereas it interferes with horsemanship. I don't doubt that it is possible, only that it is horsemanship."

Thanks for this link. My mother has miniature horses, and while most of the foals are not quite this tiny, they are very, very cute. Your "awww" is completely understandable.

Unknown म्हणाले...

Face it, Ann, underneath the cruel neutrality is a great big softy.

I remember the look on your face playing with that Yorkie.

That whole stallion, stud thing.

John Burgess म्हणाले...

Some creature in FL is stalking miniature horses (and apparently their guardian dogs).

Holy Moley!

It looks like it's back to the future for the horsie set!

What about Big Jake? Doesn't he make you go "awww?"

Plus, he lives right up the road.
