Is that the getup you wore to Woodstock?

(Just kidding. You look sensational in that midnight blue. My mother checked out your dustup video with Michelle Goldberg and said you look young enough to be her daughter. And I think she's actually younger than you, so there)

Cheers,
Victoria

Yes, Ralph, Geranium, not to be confused with Pelargonium.

Just to confuse the non-plant geeks, Geraniums go by the common name "Cransebill," while Pelargoniums go by the common name, "Geranium."

This looks like it might be bloody cransebill, which I have been meaning to plant in my garden.

I already have several patches of Bigroot Geranium, which is a wonderful plant for dry, shady spots.

Guess you're taking its picture, but it looks like you're warming your hands at it.

This pair of pictures reminds me of the Powers of Ten film, with the photographer looking much like a flower herself, situated in the same feathered fronds as the geranium.

Nice mulch. Its color makes it appear to emanate warmth.

I wonder if Althouse goes looking for things to shoot? Or if they were just walking around and she spotted that small flower.

You look very happy there, Ann, and very pretty.

The sourballs aside, when all the debate and commentary is done, your sharing of your life and happiness with everyone who comes here makes their lives a little brighter as well.

God will remember.

This is another picture from Olbrich Garden, where we like to walk. Of course, I always have my camera, and I'm always looking at things with an eye toward photography. Meade left his camera at home, but he had his iPhone.

I agree with Victoria's mother...you looked very youthful and vibrant in your debate with Goldberg. And this picture of you is delightful. By the way, what kind of tree is it that has shed the soft brown needles/leaves? Makes a very attractive mulch.

The similarities in life keep on keeping on: you two are looking like an internet version of Sarah and Todd ,or is it them looking like you. I love the beauty of two real people enjoying the gift of life.

The leaves and the tree in the background look like they might be from a metasequoia. Wonderful tree, and I planted one in the back yard when we moved. Metasequoia fossils are known from the Cretaceous, hence its common name: Dawn Redwood.

Ann looks beautiful, but I think she stole that outfit from Morticia.

"Beauty ... can become a path toward the transcendent, toward the ultimate Mystery, toward God," Benedict said.

Found this quote from the Pope on a Drudge link this morning, and heard in it an affirmation of the extra, above and beyond, "Power of Ten" quality I thought I saw in this set last night.

I credit the two photographers for individually finding, framing, and revealing something they considered to be uniquely lovely and worth noting.

For this observer, the result of their combined efforts portrays a beauty that moves me beyond the focused subject matter, toward the progression of possibilities mentioned above.

Thank you, but the truth is: It was Meade who saw the lone geranium and pointed it out to me. I didn't know he was taking my picture.

You mean the lights are soft and the music is Deep Purple :)

Ann, NICE GLOVES.
