That burning sensation you are feeling is probably not unlike the burning sensation felt by many soldiers after a night on the town--it was usually noted when they went to the latrine the next day.
Given that the MSM regularly has been withholding information and misleading its readers / watchers to a degree probably never seen before in American history, I have to wonder about the relevance of any of these numbers.
An Obama voting friend (yes, there are such things for us crazy conservatives) pooh poohed my comments to him about the Obama balloon being floated about doing away with charitable donation exemptions (and some other issue of that moment -- there are so many) by claiming that he "read the New York Times online *every day* and never saw anything about that."
As long as things like the Honduras situation is misrepresented while the press keeps observing their hangnails instead instead of doing their jobs the numbers will be questionable.
Thank goodness some people are noticing. (Helen Thomas!! Who woulda thunk!)
I would speculate that no one in the press who committed everything they are to electing to the hope and change first black (?) president of the United States of America wants to admit they screwed up.
I agree with Theo, Obama's honeymoon is a long term relationship. He is more than a president, he is a symbol so enmeshed with the 'idea' of America that he can't be allowed to fail.
Pity the poor, unlucky second African American president.
Man, this is funny. It's what I predicted - you can't get elected on promising everyone everything, and then actually expect to deliver on it.
It's not that people are losing faith in Obama - they're the one's waking up with the "Hope and Change" hangover. "Dang - I did what last night? Oh crap....".
When the burden of Obama's spending kicks-in, be it higher taxes, program cut-backs, hyper-inflation, or a mix of all three, his approval ratings or historical popularity are going to drop like a rock.
We know with certainty this is coming because this Dem surge can't possibly last - it is not built on anything close to a solid financial footing.
It is only a matter of time now, and every thoughtful Obama voter knows it.
What's most striking is that given the overly fawning (even self-admittedly so) media coverage to date, why are Obama's approval ratings only roughly where most other presidents find themselves at this point in their first term?
And yes...that's a rhetorical question: we all know what the answer is.
1. There's not a lot of hope or change. It's weird to me that all of that has been forgotten, just washed away.
2. Any objective person can see that spending tons of borrowed money and taxing wealth (particularly corporate wealth) right now is lunacy. But for Obama, it's all he knows. This stuff is supposed to work, dammit. I guess it's hard to give up on beliefs you've spent your entire life cultivating. So double down instead.
3. The idea that Obama is black never affected me but I think it did affect many voters and it obviously affected the elites. I still see drips and drabs of people talking about this great achievement. Without the race card as the centerpiece in 2010, the midterms will be even worse for Democrats than they usually are, as people will vote Republican in even larger numbers than usual to undo their guilt vote from 2008.
Obama's definition of "works" seems to be different than yours or mine.
He and his friends are lining their pockets and buying political power at our expense, and that's all the Dems care about.
If this "works" well enough it won't matter if most Americans no longer have a pot to piss in. The leftists will have the power, they'll stay in power, and that's all that will count for them.

Can we all now say, "Help, I'm married to an ax murderer". Talk about Sleeping With the Enemy.

I see the graphs and note an obvious downward trend, as if Americans are becoming less and less patient.
[slaps forehead] That was our error! We shoulda said 'No glove, no love'.
Wearing me out? Look, at my age, I've been worn out by experts. Obama's a wet-behind-the-ears neophyte piker.
And I expect the honeymoon will last well into President Obama's fifth term, if these people have their way.
Remember! Happy Days Are Here Again!

I wanted a divorce on day one. But then I didn't drink the kool-aid in the first place.
Let soap opera be your guide.

Well there you go, Quayle - thoughtful Obama voter - there cannot be such a critter on the planet.
As Republicans start thinking about taking Obama on...Jonah's spot on with this advice.

It seems to me a few things:
1. There's not a lot of hope or change. It's weird to me that all of that has been forgotten, just washed away.
