You know what's terrifying?

Jerry Seinfeld cracking jokes about you.
Jerry Seinfeld's late-night rant about his wife's cookbook rival was no joke to the author's family.

In court papers filed Tuesday, Missy Chase Lapine said her young daughter was unnerved by Seinfeld's comments on the David Letterman show, which compared her to some of history's most notorious killers.

"I have never felt so frightened and vulnerable as the day my daughter, 7 years old, came home from school and asked, 'Mom, what is an assassin?,'" Lapine writes in papers filed Tuesday in Manhattan Federal Court.
Here's the video, copied from TV in makeshift fashion:

Missy Chase Lapine .."my daughter, 7 years old, came home from school and asked, 'Mom, what is an assassin?,'"

Let's hope she doesn't have a son and name him Marc .

An assassin?

It's somewhat who's twice as much of an ass as others.

What kind of mother allows a seven year old to stay up and watch Letterman?

Jerry Seinfeld has a right to free speech. After all, if the Klu Klux Klan may march in a residential community home to hundreds of Holocaust survivors, then a has-been comedian may defend his wife’s theft of intellectual property by accusing a child of possessing the inborn disposition to murder a civil rights hero. The regretable aspect to this narrative is the pointlessness of it all; if only we had retained the civilizing influence of the duel, Jerry and the child could face off with flintlocks and settle the dispute in a reasonable fashion, like landed gentry.

Mort, buy a Klu.

It should be illegal to unnerve children.

That alone merits a lawsuit, dunnit?

And if Seinfeld had actually made the girl uncomfortable, well then my God, imprisonment is surely required. We can only hope and pray that the child's fragile self-esteem has not been inalterably damaged.

I suspect this was tongue in cheek but I could not agree more.

It's impossible to imagine Jack Benny or Bob Hope doing what Mr. Seinfeld did.

The arrogance of America's celebrity class. It's like France before the Revolution.

Who did that other person think she was to actually write a book? How dare she!

The Olsen Twins, Cristal Magnum, Seinfeld's wife, and Sen. Obama all have something in common. Each has "written" a very special book. A book is a promotional tool, part of a marketing steamroller.

For one reason or another being unnerved was a pretty common thing for me, too bad none of those jerks' families had any money.

Seinfeld should be incarcerated for those Micosoft commercials.

Seinfeld will get a few more laughs out of the Missy Chase Lapine saga, as told by her witless lawyer, before this bit of silliness is over.
