Obama's a "whiner."

It's the new meme. Should be good for at least another day.

Unless he extends its life by continuing to whine. He's just getting the vetting that has been delayed for so long by an adoring press.

The Drill SGT म्हणाले...

Politicans that don't get to the Senate after their competition self destructs over divorce records have already learned that whining is counter-productive.

It's a sign of weakness and the sharks can sense weakness.

titusisnotcurrentlyhorny म्हणाले...

It's always so hard to keep up with all the new memes.

My new meme today is that I am not horny.

What is your new meme today fellow republicans?

titusisnotcurrentlyhorny म्हणाले...

My meme later tonight will likely be that I am horny.

Dindin, drinks and dancing generally does that to me.

That and surrounded by hot ethnic, inferior hogs.

Ben (The Tiger in Exile) म्हणाले...

Really, we're just going to have a wave of these every few days until the end of the RNC in early September -- we're bored and we want the real fight to begin.

All of this other stuff -- it's undercard battles while the crowd gets drunk and rowdy.

I hate memes. Especially that being stuck in a box bullshit. And the white make up and gloves. And the stupid hat. The only meme act I could ever stand was Shields and Yarnell because that Lorene Yarnell had some great knockers. I wouldn't have minded getting stuck in her box if you know what I mean.

Read the glowing Salon Feb. 2007 profile of Sen. Obama and see that his Kerry-esque weaknesses have long been on display.

"His internal rhythm was set to "Pomp and Circumstance." "Arrogant," scoffed a South Side radio host. Even his body language signaled he was slumming."

The essay, by a supporter who twice voted for him, calls the 1990s Obama testy, ineffectual, condescending, "a self-righteous goo-goo," impatient, disdainful, wooden, haughty, and possessing a sense of entitlement.

Then, according to the writer, he went through a period of 'soul searching' and emerged "a big-government liberal, no weaseling about it" and became "Elvis, Lord Byron and Bobby Kennedy, all in the same dark suit."

Sloanasaurus म्हणाले...

He will continue to whine. Qait until people start asking him more questions about Reverend Wright.

Apparently, Wright is building a $2 million home in an all white suburb - a gift from Obama's Church. This whole story of Rev. Wright gets worse and worse. Obama painted this vision of his church and Rev. Wright doing good works, etc.. Now the Rev. is building a $2 million home?

Moreover, if you read Obama's book, it is clear that Obama was attracted to wright and Trinity because of black liberation theology and the radical positions of Rev. Wright. Obama is a liar.

I have triplets, two boys and a girl. At age 3, when the girl got in with the boys to roughhouse, she routinely got her clock cleaned, and would then complain about how rough the boys were.

We would just suggest that she not get in the tussle if she didn't have the muscle.

Now, at 5, she jumps in with abandon and pushes the boys around. When they complain, we repeat the advice we used to give her.

Obama, don't get in the tussle if you don't have the muscle. 5 year old girls know that dude.

Trey

Trooper York म्हणाले...

Trey, triplets, holy cow. How do you have time to post, let alone hang around the cigar store. Congratulations dude, you must be a really proud papa!

Swifty Quick म्हणाले...

The whining from Obama and his minions after George Stephanopoulos posed his questions sounds to me to be exactly like the whining from Hillary after the Tim Russert questions last October. "Unfair" questions. "Irrelevant" questions. "Gotcha questions". Or, "Republican questions". Precisely the same words to complain about what happened both times. How can topical questions be unfair? I like the observation, How dare they ask what everyone is talking about?

If you have insufferable WATB's like Lord Kos and Andy Sullivan as your head cheerleaders is that question ever in doubt? But, sadly, Lord Kos says I'm not a real Dem anyways so what do I know.

And Small Tent Democrats can do this all on their own thank you very much.

I understand that there's a lot of political gamesmanship going on, but the fact is that Obama's campaign is based almost exclusively on his charisma and on abstract ideas (hope! change!), not on policy. Questions about symbolism, character, who he associates with, etc. are the natural flip-side of this approach.

In other words, he can't present himself as the healer of DC's dysfunctional culture, and then get pissy when he's called on typical political BS and spin. He can't say he'll bring people together and then say close associations with figures who sew division are irrelevant.

rhhardin म्हणाले...

The serious gaze into the middle distance Obama pic has begun to cloy with the vibrating women, I think.

rhhardin म्हणाले...

Yesterday Rush said that McCain won the debate.

Simon म्हणाले...

Garage Mahal - if it's any consolation, we have the same problem on our side with people so blinded by their hatred of McCain that they've lost all sense of proportion. I mean, for someone to say that Clinton isn't a Democrat is just brain dead. But look, here's the more interesting question (to me): does the continual ratcheting up of the anti-Clinton rhetoric from Obama supporters add (or threaten to add, should it remain on present trajectory) any kind of gloss to Chris' reply to me here? (The question posed here)? Is there a level at which the bitterness produced by the primary overcomes the desire of some Clinton voters to beat the GOP, particularly since, anecdotally, Clinton supporters tend (albeit not exclusively) to be those closer to the center?

It just amazes me that people are surprised that presidential candidates come across as arrogant. You damn well better be arrogant if you think you are qualified to be the President of the United States.

Give me a freaking break!

Der Hahn म्हणाले...

That you confuse confidence with arrogance doesn't suprise me at all, FF.

Toby म्हणाले...

"His internal rhythm..."

Why did he refer to an Obama's "rhythm"? This guy is obviously a racist!

George M. Spencer म्हणाले...

Freder--

That was when the 'self-righteous goo-goo' was running for state office in the '90s.

Sincerely not giving you a freaking break,
George

SGT Ted म्हणाले...

Obama is and has been an empty suit. His whining reactions to legitimate questions about who he associates with; a crackpot racist preacher as his personal pastor and unrepentant leftwing domestic terrorists, say alot about his inexperience and incredibly bad judgement. His answers also show his myopic thinking in that he thinks that such people and associations are acceptable to everyone and shouldn't be questioned.

Cedarford म्हणाले...

Next, Obama will declare any notation of his whining or his wife's anger as "Distractions from the Real Issues.
Joining Wright, his becoming paralyzed in a nuclear emergency Simulation, bittergate, terrorist pals, his lack of executive decision-making experience, his shady Chicago associates, his having only 2 years in a Federal position...all distractions.

Funny, when you look back in history, the initial defense that Nixon and staff gave of the Watergate break-in and the other dirty tricks were that they were distractions that meddling press and partisan Democrats were harping on that detracte from the Real Issues the Great Man was fighting for - like ME peace, SALT, a National Energy policy, Democracy in E Europe, War on Cancer.
Obama is going past Nixon though in declaring any issue that he doesn't feel like discussing that isn't part of his "soaring speeches" - is inappropriate for media, non-Obamabots, the public to be concerned with. Like guns - a classic wedge issue to distract voters from health care. Uncontrolled immigration - a trivial distraction when the real issue is more wind power...

Its a game that Obama has been able to play - deigning for America what issues and problems they have are Obama-worthy, and what is beneath the Obama Messiah's time. And, what positive attributes of the Great One people should properly focus on, while avoiding his negative qualities as "wasteful distractions taking people off-course from the love all should have for the Obama.." At least, it's a game he has been able to play and get away with so far...

reader_iam म्हणाले...

"-gate" = suffix almost always meaning tempest in a teapot

reader_iam म्हणाले...

Or, perhaps, temblor in a tinhat?

Bob म्हणाले...

Look Obama is simply going with what worked in the past. But, like dating, being just whitty only goes so far. Now that we're past those initial few dates we'd like something more "substative". But Obama is like a fogbank. We can see it but when you touch it there's no substance. He's been teasing and for Democrats its "put out or shut up" time.

John Stodder म्हणाले...

Have all Obama's advisors gone on vacation?

To make himself the victim after that piss-poor debate performance compounds the damage immensely. The comparison with John McCain, who had to endure a few tough questions himself during five years in a POW camp, makes Obama seem literally unfit for the office.

Barack, know what? If you get to be president, world leaders, people you admire like Ahmadinejad might lie to you. Yep, and they might say mean things, almost as bad as Charles "Grandpa" Gibson.

Rev. Wright and "clinging" are bad enough, but his reaction to how the public and press have reacted to them is what has made me conclude he's not up for this gig. I feel sheepish about all the supportive things I've said about him.

Like Carter in '76, Obama created a brilliant facade, perfectly in tune with our political moment. But, unlike Carter's, Obama's facade has not survived the process, and what's underneath it seems about as far from presidential as a politician can get.

Sloanasaurus म्हणाले...

It becomes more clear every day that Obama is not connecting with white small-town conservative democrats (Reagan Democrats). If you were to have asked me two years ago, would a black harvard educated man whose politcal ideology was liberal and whose political base was the Chicago ghettos, connect with Reagan Democrats, I would say no way.

But, then people thought maybe Obama could connect as Obamamania caught on in January and February and Obama appeared to be more moderate and he appeared "transcend" race. Now it is clear that Obama is not moderate and does not "transcend" race.

The real big problem for Democrats now becomes that these Reagan Democrats are starting to see moderate maverick McCain as an acceptable alternative to voting Democrat. That is how Obama will lose Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan in November. It is also why McCain is going to be competitive in some liberal enclaves like New Jersey and Mass.

ricpic म्हणाले...

Take Obama out of speech mode and he's mediocre in the extreme. Sad that the alternative is McCain.

Trooper, I post at work!!!!

And I am a proud father, but the heroine of our story is actually my wife. She is a fine person who lucky for me married beneath herself. She already had the patience to put up with me, so the little ones are no big deal for her!

Well Trey, dealing with five year olds should help you deal with the commenters on Althouse.

+1 on the Lorene Shields meme. I often wondered what they did at home - mime nude porn? Ah, the mind wanders.

Didn't that other meme die a while back? Marcel Marceau? Or is he just miming death....? If he can't talk, how could they know not to close the coffin?

To answer your question I'd say that line has already been crossed, particularly with alot women. And it seems like they're doing everything in their power to make sure HRC supporters don't get behind him. I'll assume from the latest barrage of hit pieces on Hillary that Obama had a bad night, and they think it's still a ball game. Problem is they are irrational idiots with a complete lack of awareness that it may be hard to gauge anything from what they say or how they react.

Afterwards we will be going to a fabulous lounge for fabulous drinks.

And finally I will be going to a fabulous club to dance-fabulously of course.

Omaha1 म्हणाले...

I don’t get the furor over the so-called inappropriate questions directed towards the candidates in the recent debate. If the hardcore Obama fans don’t think this stuff is going to be discussed in the general election contest they are delusional. Putting myself in their shoes, I would want to know whether my candidate could “take a punch,” figuratively speaking. They must believe that McCain will continue with his nice-guy, above-all-that approach once the Democratic nominee is chosen. Even if McCain himself doesn’t attack on those fronts there are certainly lots of independent organizations (Swift Boat Vets, anyone?) that will. Obama must respond effectively at some point. Seems to me it is better for the Democrats to find out now whether he can do it or not.

Two sentences that counter all the Team Obama spin. Nicely done Toby.
