If the hardcore Obama fans don’t think this stuff is going to be discussed in the general election contest they are delusional. Putting myself in their shoes, I would want to know whether my candidate could “take a punch,” figuratively speaking. They must believe that McCain will continue with his nice-guy, above-all-that approach once the Democratic nominee is chosen. Even if McCain himself doesn’t attack on those fronts there are certainly lots of independent organizations (Swift Boat Vets, anyone?) that will. Obama must respond effectively at some point. Seems to me it is better for the Democrats to find out now whether he can do it or not.Omaha1https://www.blogger.com/profile/17906834802115018347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6329595.post-83990343778695718162008-04-18T18:23:00.000-05:002008-04-18T18:23:00.000-05:00...and a Rush caller yesterday suggested that the ......and a Rush caller yesterday suggested that the Democrat superdelegates select McCain and let the Republicans choose somebody else.rhhardinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06901742898653890646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6329595.post-71429359167796112092008-04-18T16:50:00.000-05:002008-04-18T16:50:00.000-05:00Good evening fellow republicans.I am going to a fa...Good evening fellow republicans.

I am going to a fabulous roof desk for dindin at friends.

Afterwards we will be going to a fabulous lounge for fabulous drinks.

And finally I will be going to a fabulous club to dance-fabulously of course.titusisnotcurrentlyhornyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13021349295232830914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6329595.post-47678767525365539642008-04-18T16:46:00.000-05:002008-04-18T16:46:00.000-05:00SimonTo answer your question I'd say that line has...Simon
To answer your question I'd say that line has already been crossed, particularly with alot women. If you were to have asked me two years ago, would a black harvard educated man whose politcal ideology was liberal and whose political base was the Chicago ghettos, connect with Reagan Democrats, I would say no way.

But, then people thought maybe Obama could connect as Obamamania caught on in January and February and Obama appeared to be more moderate and he appeared "transcend" race. Now it is clear that Obama is not moderate and does not "transcend" race.

The real big problem for Democrats now becomes that these Reagan Democrats are starting to see moderate maverick McCain as an acceptable alternative to voting Democrat. That is how Obama will lose Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan in November. It is also why McCain is going to be competitive in some liberal enclaves like New Jersey and Mass.Sloanasaurushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15787488302564761993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6329595.post-77671066249563023132008-04-18T12:59:00.000-05:002008-04-18T12:59:00.000-05:00Have all Obama's advisors gone on vacation? The comparison with John McCain, who had to endure a few tough questions himself during five years in a POW camp, makes Obama seem literally unfit for the office.

Barack, know what? If you get to be president, world leaders, people you admire like Ahmadinejad might lie to you. Yep, and they might say mean things, almost as bad as Charles "Grandpa" Gibson.

Rev. Wright and "clinging" are bad enough, but his reaction to how the public and press have reacted to them is what has made me conclude he's not up for this gig. I feel sheepish about all the supportive things I've said about him.

Like Carter in '76, Obama created a brilliant facade, perfectly in tune with our political moment. But, unlike Carter's, Obama's facade has not survived the process, and what's underneath it seems about as far from presidential as a politician can get.John Stodderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14185881995621265497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6329595.post-13686644973555653642008-04-18T12:50:00.000-05:002008-04-18T12:50:00.000-05:00Look Obama is simply going with what worked in the...Look Obama is simply going with what worked in the past.
