AmPowerBlog म्हणाले...: Hey, I just did the Statue of Liberty tour last month!

We had "monument passes" to go up on the Statue, but everyone had to wait in the line to board the ferries. It took about an hour to get on. And it was hot! Those guys in the Statue of Liberty outfits were just boiling. One of the guys, finishing his shift, took off the robes, and you could see he was just covered in sweat. I liked the carnival atmosphere at Battery Park.

I looked up at the Statue from below, just like in your picture here. But the view from the ferry coming around was the most majestic. Imagine what the immigrants thought as they headed over to Ellis Island! My son and I also stopped there, and I enjoyed the exhibits. That's an experience I won't forget.

Thanks for the reminder! I wish I could visit Lady Liberty more often. She really does stand for our values, and seeing her up close brings it all home.

I think her original appellation more fitting these days, "Liberty Enlightening the World." "Statue of" is static, the other more about dynamic idealism. Almost neoconish
