What's truly impressive about Stewart's military career is what he actually gave up his acting career to join the Army Air Corps nine months *before* Pearl Harbor. He saw that war was coming and wanted to be ready to help. Prior to that, he and a few other Hollywood celebrities had pooled their money to establish a training school for military pilots.

It is almost impossible to imagine a modern Hollywood celebrity showing that level of patriotism and self-sacrifice today.; ७/९/०७, ३:०३ PM
