It was cold here in New York City yesterday, with a high temperature of 59° -- the lowest high ever for August, tying with a day back in 1911.
And the restaurant had a dog:

It's now called Climate Change", not Global Warming.
Because it's not warm.
Cue 10 readers to tell you weather is not climate.
We had a very cold weekend here in Madison, and the change was very nice. Now it's back to summer.
Dog in a restauraunt, how nice. I'm sure that goes well with the patrons if he lifts his leg.
Trans-fat isn't allowed in the restaurants but dogs are? Yikes.
If it's warmer than usual, that proves The Global Warming Theory.
If it's colder than usual, that proves The Global Warming Theory, because it would've been colder had it not for Global Warming.
Heads I win....
I think people are about to give up on trying to teach Pogo anything.
Weather doesn't go with Climate Change. The word whether is more apt. As in: "whether it is warm or cold tomorrow, there will be climate change."
Climate is what you want....weather is what you get.
I question the timing.
Both the buildings, and the dog, look apprehensive.
The buildings are apprehensive, but the dog is placid.
Well I'm sure the folks in NY are pleased that you brought Madison's weather with you when you moved; was it just a little thing to keep you from becoming homesick?
This New York living will be fun for me because I will now recognize the locations you photograph! Were you in SoHo? You should check out Nolita for some fun boutique shopping and great wine bars. Plenty to photograph particularly with its close proximity to Chinatown.

You mean cyrus is..., no?
Nice choice of shutter speeds for that street scene! Everything nice and sharp, with the added bonus of the two walking girls in motion blur.
47 and brisk in the hamptons yesterday. ran the furnace for 15 minutes to take the chill off but as i said to ann in a prior post...just wait until january...nyc/brooklyn 10 degrees and wind doesn't translate madison ever ever.
That dog is a french bull dog. They start at about $3000.00. It is a pretty rare breed.
Their temperament is docile but they tend to have breathing problems.
You should get to know your rare dog breeds. Now that you are in NYC, a city with literally millions of dogs you are going to run into some pretty rare expensive dogs.
I have a clumber spaniel-there are only 275 registered in the U.S. He is beautiful and a babe magnet.
You will find more rare breeds in the space you are living than likely anywhere in the world.
We love our dogs, you too will learn to love our dogs. I take my to Sunday brunch in Chelsea and there are many bars that allow dogs. Almost all of the high priced hotels in the city also allow dogs. When friends come they always bring their dogs who get their own beds, poopy pouches, snacks and toys from the hotels. Most of the dogs in NYC are trained impeccably so the chance of them lifting their leg on you or in a restaurant or bar is slim.
Oh and if you walk around Chelsea you will see this strange contrast of musclehead queens with very tiny dogs-this pekingnese and chihauha's. It is a fascinating dichotomy- huge arms and chest and teeny weeny little dog.
Not all of the muscleheads, some of them have your scarey big dogs that match their look.
It will be interesting to hear of your perspective of the "chelsea muscle boy". It really is something of a cult and when walking the streets in Chelsea and it the overwhelming theme. Absolutely huge, muscle guys--that are all gay.
And you will find the dykes in Park Slope-your old home.
Not your stereotypical dykes but quite a few absolutely stunning lipstick dykes that look like all they need is a good dick to play for the other side.
Anyone notice the street bricks and general condition?

New Yorkers are funny. We have dogs in fly-over country, too, dude.
using the temperature of any single day to validate your rejection of global warming only reveals a small, small mind
But dude…not every city has dog….go to the third restaurant past the apothecary with the bear in the window on 35th St. between Broadway and 6th…..ask for Mr. Johniee Bon-Hwa..…tell him you are a friend of Lassie..…you won’t be disappointed.
