I wonder if pink affects men and women differently. For men, I think pink = female. This photo made me breathe faster. But maybe women are affected the same way.
Here at Chateau Bissage, we disbud, deadhead and fertilize with bonemeal.
The disbudding seems to produce a bigger flower with less flop. I'm not sure that the deadheading does anything more than tidy things up a bit. The bonemeal seems to produces a more vigorous, more floriferous, plant.
But lots of gardeners do nothing, I'm sure, with spectacular results.
I forgot this year to put in the support trellis for the peony, so we have to disbud, lest the whole thing collapse in a rainstorm. If it would ever rain, that is.
I think a good Maoist would call this photo a rightist deviation because it depicts an object that has no relevance whatsoever to the race, gender, class struggle.
And yet, it might be used by the Maoists to describe their movement insofar as it's pink!
The rippling undulations could represent the sense that the periphery is as important as the center in the creation of community!
There is nothing that escapes Maoist conjecture, and nothing that cannot be correctly interpreted and labeled by the system if you have a nose for the communist bouquet.
It’s important to disBud for satisfactory results. Life and garden are beautiful ever since doing it last Feb.
While the flower photos are quite beautiful, this single overly large one reminds me of O’Keefe. Wouldn’t put a print of hers on the wall for the same reason that I’m not interested in ever sitting through the Vagina Monologues. Is that so wrong of me?
Guess O’Keefe’s flowers could simply be botanical studies. And this stunning photo merely a flower and not a potrayal of "pinkness" or a crenellated frilly frock for a flower fairy. If you say so!

"Pinkness"?
That's Pinkyness!
Good one! I don't know why. Maybe it's the light/shadow contrast. I think it would look good in B&W too.
Wow. That's a very sensuous picture.

Simply beautiful!

Oh dear you are a clever one, Professor Althouse.

Dunno. I look at it and (unlike Mr. Stodder and perhaps yourself) see a flower.
Maybe there's something wrong with me!

I wonder if the flowers that have yet to open aspire to be like this one.
