You'll have to decide...

... whether my encounter with Jonah makes me less or more deserving of your vote on the last day of round 1 in the Grande Conservative Blogress Diva contest.

For the past week or so I've read and listened to all that you've written and said. I agree with you completely therefore you must be a Redneck Hillbilly just like me.
I've voted for you many times in the past few days but I think you are ready for the big time.
Althouse to the White House.
Let's get out the vote.

The fact that a supporter of Senator Feingold, is considered a "Conservative Diva" shows how ridiculous the contest is. It also demonstrates that in academic and legal circles that anyone who strays from liberal orthodoxy is labeled a neo-liberal, a conservative, a right-winger etc. Nathan Glazer, Pat Moynihan, two liberal Democrats would be considered conservatives under this warped analysis.

My contracts professor who almost cried the day after the 2004 Presidential election has claimed that he is one of the most conservative members of the faculty at my law school.

Professor Althouse, perhaps you can now fully embrace affirmative steps to actually get some diversity of opinion at law schools.

partisan moderate/diversity comment.

ms. althouse doesn't believe in diversity of thought except for various degrees of neo-con.

question to ann: i don't think tom delay is busy so why don't you get him to organize a grass roots so you be diva.

hdhouse, you inadvertly proved my point. The fact that you consider Professor Althouse, a 2004 supporter of Senator Feingold a "neo-con" and a Tom Delay-supporter" demonstrates how intolerant the left is of any perceived heresy on any issue.

hd house: You remind me of someone I know on another site. Unbeknownst to anyone who happens by your path and engages you in conversation, you have unique and highly personal definitions of everyday terms that no one is aware of until long after conversation has ceased being beneficial.

In her case, it is only apparent that apples aren't apples after an exchange of 10 or 15 comments, but you are not nearly so proficient a practitioner of the art as she, so it is usually readily apparent that you have a special meaning for some words known only to you.

With that in mind, and in the interests of clarity for any discussion that ensues here as a result of your comment, your definition of "various degrees of neo-con," would be sincerely appreciated. It would be most helpful if you could cite specific examples of how Althouse qualifies under your undoubtedly unique definition.

(Unlike PM, I am willing to grant you credit for sufficient intelligence, based on your prior sorry record here, to not conclude that you believe DeLay is a neo-conservative.)
