I do not get it. This guy seems nice enough .... but HOTTEST? Give me a break... hello? There are tons of much more attractive single types. Geesh! Take off the Idol blinders people!!!
He is but a short step away from having tobacco juice oozing down his chin. He's got at least one well chewed toothpick in a pocket somewhere too, and he scratches his nuts without ever thinking about where he is at and who sees him.

People's naming Hicks as the hottest bachelor is quite the subversive move for the celeb rag. A greying, pudgy schlumpf, a guy who literally embodies zaftig ordinariness, is this year's hottie -- what a thought. Talk about taking a shot at one's own celebrity-celebrating franchise. Some sly deconstructionist must have written the piece.
The assumption that a great singer needs to be the "hottest" sex object is the problem. Let the man sing, and stop making him embarrass himself otherwise.
Elizabeth: If that were the theory, Elliott would have won. Having Taylor win inherently means something more complex is going on, and it really is a sexual response.

Something is very, very wrong with whoever buys this list. The whole list is wonky. And American Idol clearly paid somebody off. Ace Young!? Ryan Seacrest!? AND Taylor Hicks!? Poor Elliott was the only bachelor who didn't make it. That's gotta hurt.

Ann, this all baffles me. I've heard enough of Elliot and Taylor to know I think Elliot is the better singer. But neither of them seems to have any sex appeal, at least from my perspective. Taylor's got negative sex appeal when he does his little dance move.
I believe American Idol is beyond my ken.
Maybe it's a bunch of really, really nearsighted folks who think they are actually looking at George Clooney who have decided that Taylor Hicks is sexy.

I would say the bigger issue is that anyone looks to a magazine to see who is the hottest. There are real problems in the world and this is what some people deem worth their time.
