3-D TV.
Did you watch last night's episode of "Medium," the one with the 3-D? Did you go out and buy an issue of TV Guide to get the 3-D glasses and then find they didn't really work too well? That's what happened to the person here who loves "Medium" and procured the glasses. I was going to watch with him, and I even went to Borders and looked around for TV Guide. I couldn't find it, and I just couldn't bring myself to go to the information desk and ask for TV Guide. Man, it's embarrassing enough to buy TV Guide, but to have to ask for it... Just couldn't do it!

Did you know that it just changed formats, from that small size we all know so well, and that fit so neatly on top of most TV consoles (omigosh--now there's an old-fashioned word--probably haven't used it in years)? Now it's a full-size "tabloid" sort of mag, with listings a side dish rather than the entree (and it's now national--no more time-zoned editions).
Maybe that's why you missed it? And why you'll probably be even more glad that you didn't ask for it?
My company happens to keep a stock of 3D glasses in the supply cabinet, so no TV Guide for me. I thought it looked pretty good on my HDTV if I sat far enough back. The opening sequence with the paint being poured down at the viewer was nice.
I just didn't care for watching such a violent show. Maybe this would be better on Pamela Anderson's Stacked.
Heck I have 5 or 6 pairs of the damn things from seeing "Shark Boy and Lava Girl" and "Spy Kids 3D Game Over" Both are must not sees but the 7 year old loved them. They gave me a headache. I worked thru Medium last night.
-not even 3-D glasses could pull me away from my devotion to Nip/Tuck - that isn't a 'cute' one-liner, but I'm working on that format to keep in tune and mimic corporate, blogorama type respondents
I have (Linux based) MythTV running on my home desktop computer, so when I have a few moments free at work, I'll browse to the MythWeb server running on my home computer and schedule my network TV viewing for the subsequent two weeks. I've noticed there is only one network show scheduled after 10pm (EST) which I have any interest in watching, Grey's Anatomy. Most everything else is some numbing crime drama: CSI, Law & Order, Numb3rs, Medium, Without A Trace...
Too much blood and bodily goo. Now in 3D.
I tried to watch it without the 3D glasses, and it ticked me off so much I turned it off. They didn't need the gimmick.
I bought the glasses, had a bit of trouble getting over the fact that I actually bought a TV Guide (not much to it anymore)and watched the show. Let 15 year old son watch part of the show so that he could use the glasses. We were not impresses. The glasses didn't work well. The paint segment was good but once with the cleever was quite enough. I love the show but it has a harder edge to it this year.
