If you have no feeling for how cool this is, please get Errol Morris's "Person to Person" and watch the episode "Eyeball to Eyeball" -- about Clyde Roper, a man who has devoted his life to the quest to become the first human being to see a live giant squid.
It wasn't Roper who saw the squid though. Poor guy.

Can you imagine what it would have been like to run into one of those things on a wooden galley?
Captain Nemo could not be reached for comment, but Captain Ahab hoped that the giant squid would meet its match with the great white whale that has eluded him through the ages.
I just can't get into this squid story.
