Bush ≈ Goldilocks?
Instapundit likens Bush (in his efforts in Iraq) to Goldilocks. I hate to quibble, but as a student of both moderation and literary allusions, I just have to say: wouldn't Bush be Baby Bear? We're Goldilocks if we taste the options and decide we like the not-too-left, not-too-right view of how things are going.

I would liken Bush to the cold porrigde.
He has about as much going for him right now as lumpy
distasteful gruel. And he is about as smart as porrigde.
I vote for Bush played by the broken chair, not the baby bear.
You're both wrong. Bush is Goldilocks, skipping through the woods doing nothing (Midland, Tx). Peering through windows of places he didn't belong (Iraq), eating their food, destroying property, and in his arrogance falls asleep in the place he burglarized.
I don't see how he can be a broken chair or cold porridge. He's doing things, not an object that is merely acted upon. If you think he's broken things, don't blame the thing (the chair), say he's Goldilocks who broke the chair. So the previous anonymous commenter has the analogy right.
"He's doing things, not an object that is merely acted upon." I stand by my analogy. Maybe VP Cheney or someone else sat on him, but he's the broken chair.
If you're going to take the position that he's a passive object and thus capable of being the chair, how is he the broken chair? If he's being used as an object by others, then he's got to be the object in its functional condition. Also, for your analogy to remain intact, Cheney will have to be Goldilocks.
I'm the one who said Bush is Goldilocks. There seems to be a dispute about the chair. The chair, my friends, would be Colin Powell. Totally broken by W and able to be repaired, but won't be the same chair again.
Maybe other people than Goldilocks sat on the damn chair. Are you reading an abridged version? Also, functional chairs break. This shoulda been a blogpoll
Maybe other people did sit on the damn chair, but it broke when W/Goldilocks sat on it. Perhaps it was weakened by being sat on by Rummy and Cheney, but let's just take the chair as we found it: functional and upright. Abridged or unabridged the chair was just fine before being sat on.
