^^ The GOP faces a choice: evolve into a conservative party capable of governing, or remain a personality cult organized around one man. The voters have signaled that grievance, cultural warfare and perpetual outrage are not a governing agenda. The challenge is to rediscover conservatism as a set of ideas and principles, rather than an exercise in personal loyalty to Trump.
Yesterday was a relief rally when MAGA accepted the election outcome and didn't call for an armed response to a stolen election. Today -- back to fundamentals.
It didn't take a political savant to see that Trump would screw up and become unpopular (though to the extent he has is impressive) and tech firms tying themselves so closely to him narrowed their options unnecessarily. Now they have to deal with the fact they've alienated over half of America, and regulators overseas too.
That’s the deal with leftists like IUD. As long as Trump and everyone is suffering… soros can destroy everything.. economical and load up the illegal caravans again. All is well in leftwing insect head
If Trump-hate is the glue that holds the Democrat coalition together, then we shouldn't be surprised if revenge is their highest priority once in power.
I wonder if someone could help refresh my memory. I was thinking back to the 1988 election. Wasn't the Quayle nomination met with anger even before he had a chance to open his mouth and before anyone knew anything about his Vietnam-era background? That's what I remember, and it seemed a bit disturbed to invest any level of anger on a mundane country club preppy.
Mitt Romney "My party" - LOL. Mitt romney refused to vote for Trump in 3 elections, joined the D's twice to impeach him, and according to his biography "Refused to sit next to JD vance because he disliked him so much".
He also refused to endorse his fellow Senator Mike Lee in 2022, and was best friends forever with Joe Biden. Yes, I'm sure Mittens wants the "a course correction" - he wants the party to be support Amnesty, forever wars, and Big business. And be liberal on everything else.
But thanks for the laugh. Mittens is always a joke.
ICE brutality - LOL. God what a joke Mittens is. This is man who supports Genocide in gaza and every action by the Israeli Gangster Netenyahu AND giving Zelensky aid to continue a useless war that has killed hundreds of thousands.
So you're saying the fundamentals look much worse today than before the election. Apparently the market doesn't like the prospect of Congress controlled by corrupt Democrats. That's the only thing that's changed.
Basically all the Republican losers are coming out of the wood-work to blame trump for the mid-terms. Why if only we'd supported Amnesty, war in the Ukraine, Free trade, and done nothing on anything else - why we'd have won.
Weirdly, all these losers like Mittens - supported TRump on his biggest mistake war with Iran.
Again, its hilarious to see John Cornyn, Mittens, Mike Pence out there lecturing us on how to win elections in the future. Where's Jeb Bush? Or Nikki Haley?
so the newly elected governor of Texas, a radical leftist, who is beholden to the teachers union, has just promised to dismantle the voucher system that allows parents to choose school. Or should I say school choice. The newly elected governor of Texas is going to dismantle school choice
The stock market is mostly feelings. The stuff Trump has already done and put into motion like trillions in investment in American industry and tech will continue to pay off despite the Dems inevitable fumbling and punishments on the successful. That's why I didn't sell yesterday, so today cost me well into the 6 figures. I'm a buy and hold kind of guy, and I still think the U.S. is the best bet for now.
Mason G. Indeed. The Teachers union and the ACLU teach kids about gender, sex and being a rainbow victim. math, reading, science, civics - none of that.
So Crowley had an unexpected $4.6 million deficit in his budget. And the Journal Sentinel thought we ought to know about it the day after the election. Have fun, neighbors!
The Democrats winning may have accelerated the timeline and reduced the eventual damage from allowing this bubble to grow even larger. That doesn’t mean the market can’t recover; nobody knows how this plays out. But the sooner the excess gets worked out, the less leverage and concentration we have to unwind, and potentially the sooner the market can find a sustainable footing.
And there’s another interesting question: Where does this leave Anthropic’s IPO? Has it missed its window, or will a more realistic valuation make it attractive? And what happens to OpenAI? If investors are suddenly questioning the economics of the AI boom, even the biggest players may discover that the IPO market is a lot less forgiving than the private funding market.
Anthropic's IPO could become the real test of whether this is simply a correction in technology stocks or a much broader reassessment of the AI investment boom. That's considerably more consequential than one day's market decline.
Remember during the 4 years of mobster Joe - we all watched with our own eyes- the footage of thousands of illegals shipped to the border daily and allowed in by Crook Joe - then he and his mob organization and the highly paid media hacks like Jake Tapper et al - lied to us and told us non stop the "the border is secure"

Obama, then, is admitting what was said in private last decade, and what conservatives charged at the time, too: Obamacare didn’t make healthcare more affordable; it, in fact, drove up costs, and this was part of a long-term plan to replace our health insurance system with a fully socialized one.“
…oh good god - yesterday the leftie layman said the market rallied because Democrats won. Today they say be thankful for the losses because Democrats popped the bubble…
…well while you guys here were gobbling up the tall tales of voters rejecting Trump and moderate voters flocking to the lefties, people who like arithmetic did some addition and the numbers tell a different story- Republicans received 2 million more midterm votes in 2026 vs 2022. Democrats managed to find over 20 million new voters between 2022 and 2026. Where did they find them?
Peachy+2: The midterms weren't simply a collection of unrelated victories and defeats. They represented a broader judgment by voters about the direction of the country, the administration, and the Republican Party.
When someone responds to that judgment by endlessly litigating peripheral arguments while avoiding the central message, it suggests they're more interested in defending their political identity than understanding the electorate. The more frantically you try to argue away the result, the less you're able to appreciate why it happened.
They found them in the same place Republicans used to find theirs: among eligible Americans who decided to show up and vote. It's called turnout. You should look into it.
Trumpists are still having trouble believing that Democrats won a historical win in a midterm is because the American people repudiated Trump and rejected Trumpism and the many toxic and destructive ways it’s been destroying America. We’ve been seeing it and had been waiting for the day we could speak with our vote. It’s less about the Democratic Party than it is about rejecting the Trump Cult and the vileness of Trump and his policies.
America doesn’t want Trump, his minions, his family and their corruption, or Trumpism with its destructive policies. Trump is a shit stain on America. The best thing he could do is get on his big Qatari jet and fly it to seek asylum there, or elsewhere anywhere as long as he leaves.
Doc Weevil do you enjoy debasing yourself on Althouse?
The numbers that Doc Weevil posts do not match official Virginia Department of Elections data for Williamsburg City in the November 3, 2026, general election. There is no 118%+ turnout. https://enr.elections.virginia.gov/results/public/virginia/elections/2026-November-General/voters
The claim that Williamsburg City, Virginia, had a 118% voter turnout is entirely false and originates from an inaccurate screenshot circulating on social media. According to official data from the Virginia Department of Elections, Williamsburg City actually had 12,813 registered voters and 6,875 ballots cast, resulting in an official voter turnout of approximately 53.7% ~ Grok
Dr Weevil comes on Althouse numerous times a day with breathless reports that he finds on X. Why doesn’t he try to validate this crap before ‘reporting’ it here? Same sort of claims about questionable voter turnout were reported in other past races, which were proven to be false. Here’s one from 2020, Milwaukee.
“Debunked: No, there were not more votes than registered Milwaukee voters”
"That report that's reporting double the voters in Wards 273 and 274 is completely false and unfounded," Woodall-Vogg said. "Voters should be aware, we were warned about this form of interference and it is a form of interference of the election."
State Election Commission Director Meagan Wolfe also warned about misinformation.
"I really wish people would check the facts and share things like our press release," she said. "I know it's not as flashy as some other things you could share on social media, but share the facts rather than speculation or rumors."
Was the screenshot "inaccurate", or did someone realize that the cheat had gone too far and correct it after the fact? We'll never know, will we?
As for Inga, did Americans repudiate Trump, or the useless Congressmen who refused to pass any of the bills Trump has asked them to pass, starting with the ones that would secure elections, or approve his judicial nominees, or impeach even the most egregiously unconstitutional current judges? They were the ones on the ballot.
Far more anti Trump votes according to exit polling than voters wanting more Trumpism and being frustrated with Congress. That notion probably is something you Trumpists are trying to comfort yourselves with.
At least I don't get my information by copying word-for-word, without attribution, link, or quotation, words written by someone else, as you have been proven to do, IEE. Whether you're a plagiarist, or a paid distributor of pre-written talking points, is not entirely clear. Why don't you tell us?
The "massive blue tsunami" was fewer seats then Clinton and Obama lost in midterm elections. Definitely a wave, but "tsunami" is a ridiculous exaggeration.
Beginning of the end of Trump, relegated to the dustbin of history. But Doc Weevil proving that the stupid will always be with us. Lack of a proper education- can't do a thing about it.
What I wrote on the Election Day sunrise thread (link): "In early Election Day news, Guam just surprised even themselves by electing a Republican governor, and Florida turnout for this midterm election is higher than it was for the presidential election two years ago."
That's it: cautious optimism based on two very small straws in the wind. FOAD toad IEE claims that I said that "was the beginning of the 'Red Tsunami'". Paid propagandist lies again.
I did, later in the same thread (1:36am), quote a tweet by someone else that I called "Amusing", not because "Eric W." used the phrase "Red wave?" to refer to Guam (nothing particularly amusing there) but because he ended with a joke about "flipping" Guam being something that might worry Hank Johnson. In short, not my words, wave not tsunami, and with a question mark. Meaning that IEE is once again a lying toad and propagandistic shill, who lies about what I wrote.
PeachyPeachy gives us an awesome new nickname for our sketchy bot: IUD.
Man! How did I miss that one? I've been playing around with VVV (Vulgar Vagina Vulva). But it just doesn't zip or sing. I nominate PeachyPeachy for our new insult king.
The election was a repudiation of Trump by his own voters, but not a repudiation of the major tenants of MAGA. Trump clearly abandoned his populist nationalist America first no new foreign wars platform that he ran on in 2024.
This is why the Democrats need to be very very careful how they move forward because the election was not about them.
Listen, everyone, and I mean everyone, I had no idea about this Israeli plot to get El-Sayed elected governor. I apologize for laughing at that shit. It just sounded so crazy and anti-Semitic I did not dream the Israelis were trying to destabilize their own government. I just sort of assumed some peace loving Arabs were attacking the Muslim Brotherhood (again). Apparently, and I heard this quite a bit on my vacay in the sand, all the peace-loving Arabs in the Middle East are totally on board with Big Hitler (as we like to call Trump around here). And of course everybody knows that the Israelis love Big Hitler, too. They're the original Big Hitler lovers. I think they loved Big Hitler before the USA loved Big Hitler. Isn't that hilarious?
Anyway, I'm sorry, truly, for thinking it was crazy as shit to believe that both the Jews and the Arabs, the Asians and the Iranians, and the Sufis and the other racial groups, I'm forgetting somebody, oh yeah, the blacks and whites, anyway, we're celebrating Big Hitler's birthday, and we wanted to give his children a call. But we don't have his phone number. Do you have his phone number? I had no idea getting in touch with a former president is so hard. It's like some of these fuckers don't even want to talk to us. Anyway, oh wow, I've had too much to drink. Alcohol is great!
It may be, if you do something that is incredibly hard, spiritually speaking, and highly unusual, something that nobody else seems to be doing, that is moral and right and just, God likes it. He's not impressed, of course. God has seen it all. But it makes him happy. And he snaps his fingers, from all the infinite universes, and makes ours a little bit better. And that's the way we humans are invited to build a better universe. And slowly but surely, one miracle at a time, it happens.
Or, as we Christians say, in the Lord's prayer, "thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
You know how we say that emotion is dangerous? I will add that imagination is also dangerous. And I'm an artist, I love these things. But when you bring them into the real world, watch out.
“Trump clearly abandoned his populist nationalist America first no new foreign wars platform that he ran on in 2024.“
Reality is in the eye of the beholder. Some of us believe he abandoned his no new forever wars pledge and that’s unforgivable. Others believe he’s saving the world from nuclear bombs being controlled by psychotic terrorists and that’s forgivable. YMMV.
I notice how the trunks and branches become more prominent to the eye as the leaves fall. Not that foliage was trying to obscure the hard wood on purpose, just as they fade one notices the structure more.
Jesus Christ you stupid mother fuckers can't stop talking about politics for one post? Piss up a rope you multiposting monkeybrain masterbators.
When they tell you what they plan to do, believe them... Just WHY Elon is a traitor is all in his little mind, is beyond me. Progressives are violent, hateful, intolerant, and mentally ill.
Western Lensman @WesternLensman · Nov 3 Scott Galloway calls Elon Musk a "traitor to the West" and invokes the executions of the Rosenbergs after WW2.
"We lined up the Rosenbergs against a wall. This is a traitor to the West, and he should be held to the same
People are constantly trying to manipulate each other. Have you noticed that? I have done it myself. And it can work, too. But only if a person allows herself to be manipulated. We all have free minds and free will. It’s a blessing from the Lord.
LOL!
They have already declared this the "Gayest" congress and the "Least White (male)" congress ever.
Their influencers are already calling for executions.
Just take a short sample of the retards here. Inga and Mutaman are back! And they are ready for blood!
Trump did what he had to do to reset the world economy and he knew he wasn't getting reelected. Iran had to be taken out of the British Empire.
For the next 2 years Trump is going to be opening up new manufacturing facilities and breaking ground on massive new capital investments on American manufacturing.
And Democrats are going to spend the next 2 years acting like feral pigs trying to take everyone's stuff and raping and murdering people.
Remember the shouts of “Lock her up” (re: Hilary) when Trump was first elected in 2016? Trump said no and took the high road. He has learned his lesson, albeit too late. You can’t deal with the Commie left. You just can’t.
I have yet to hear of any Democrat policies that will make America more affordable. More safe and more prosperous. All I'm hearing is; "We won! Now we get to punish the Republicans!" I'm reading that to mean more riots, more abuse. Higher taxes on the middle class, etc. Question for the group. Should I get my carry permit?
American people voted to CHECK the techs,, cant always be about juicing the billionaires! Communities will gain back power to stop the $$$ mongers! SKYNET is real, help John Connor. AI is here ,not going anywhere, the question is out of control valuations and unchecked guard rails. People said STOP ,,,check it!
"MAGA tears"? IEE lies again. The only MAGA tears I've seen on-line were photoshopped by lefties. Here's @reddit_lies on Twitter (link, with picture):
"I love how Redditors can't even find an image of Conservatives melting down so they just photoshopped a Maga hat on the crying liberal from Trump's first inauguration.
Saint Croix, I agree, it's not always easy to follow Christ's teachings. But I have a hard time imagining Jesus using a nickname like "IUD" to insult someone. Don't you?
Hegseth will not be removed from office. Impeachment means noting without a conviction by the Senate. It takes 67 votes in the Senate to convict and remove from office. Not happening.
"I love how Redditors can't even find an image of Conservatives melting down so they just photoshopped a Maga hat on the crying liberal from Trump's first inauguration.
We don't really "melt down". We're much too reasonable for that. I'll let the Timmahs and the IEEs and the freders get all moist.

Technology stocks lose 3 trillion today and oil rises 5%.
It's a nice start. Like a rising spring sun warming us after a cold winter.
It’s after the mid-terms, when the masks begin to fall away and those elected show their true selves and what their priorities are.

Stocks and oil are just pricing in a glum future.
Yeah, we attack Iran, they close the straits, oil goes up and stocks eventually go down. Who woulda thunk it?
I missed the news about us attacking Iran today?

No, the markets already price in the oil shock. We’re seeing now is the beginning of the Soros market sorrows. He bets big against us.

Doc Weevil go back to 'The SCIF' or 'Wall Street Apes' or wherever you find your 'high trust' ExTwitter nonsense....
Trump said numerous times “Pretend I’m on the ballet” and American answered with a massive blue tsunami.
The "massive blue tsunami" was fewer seats then Clinton and Obama lost in midterm elections. Definitely a wave, but "tsunami" is a ridiculous exaggeration.
Doc Weevil -- Tell us more about Guam and the victory that you claimed was the beginning of the 'Red Tsunami'....
Beginning of the end of Trump, relegated to the dustbin of history. But Doc Weevil proving that the stupid will always be with us. Lack of a proper education- can't do a thing about it.
Haha…
“Ballot”. Trump in ballet leotards is not a pretty picture.
Mutt? Yes.
Man? NO.
I tend to misread Mutaman as Mutoman or Muttoman, 'mutto' or 'muto' being one of the Latin words for prick.

Let's leave Melania out of this.
That’s not Ignarant, that’s the MadDog 20/20 talking…
PeachyPeachy gives us an awesome new nickname for our sketchy bot: IUD.
Man! How did I miss that one? I've been playing around with VVV (Vulgar Vagina Vulva). But it just doesn't zip or sing. I nominate PeachyPeachy for our new insult king.
Inga scores at 10:07!
I think I got excited by "massive blue tsunami." I just want to surf it now.
Also, I've been trying to spell tsunami all week. And failing.
What a nurse. What a nurse!
Just wondering. What exactly does the Left plan to impeach Hegseth for?
The original plan was for a fake impeachment on Trump (again).
"Okay, okay, we'll moderate. We'll do a fake impeachment on Hesgeth instead."
The recent Crenshaw-Raskin discussion on CNN exemplifies the personality differences between the two camps quite well, imho.
“This is why the Democrats need to be very very careful how they move forward because the election was not about them”
@Howard, they won’t, and for all your pious posturings I’m sure you know it.

Scott Galloway calls Elon Musk a "traitor to the West" and invokes the executions of the Rosenbergs after WW2.
"We lined up the Rosenbergs against a wall. This is a traitor to the West, and he should be held to the same

If the internet is dangerous, it is dangerous because imagination is dangerous.
People are constantly trying to manipulate each other. Have you noticed that? I have done it myself. And it can work, too. But only if a person allows herself to be manipulated. We all have free minds and free will. It’s a blessing from the Lord.

HAHAHAHA Scott Galloway.
This is a "moderate" democrat and he is calling for Musk to be shot as a traitor.
Pinochet wins the 2028 presidential election.
Raskin is going to punish all those Trump supporting businesses from Congress! WE HAVE THE POWER! You can see them drooling and slobbering.
These are the actual leaders of the Democrat party. Not the feral little retards that voted for them.
Vance and Rubio are finished. Bukele becomes the model.
The pendulum swings.

Olson at 4:51. Do not blasphemy Christ.
Remember the shouts of “Lock her up” (re: Hilary) when Trump was first elected in 2016? Trump said no and took the high road. He has learned his lesson, albeit too late. You can’t deal with the Commie left. You just can’t.
Trump still runs the justice department.
I have yet to hear of any Democrat policies that will make America more affordable. More safe and more prosperous.
All I'm hearing is; "We won! Now we get to punish the Republicans!"
I'm reading that to mean more riots, more abuse. Higher taxes on the middle class, etc.
Question for the group. Should I get my carry permit?
“Do not cast pearls before swine.” That may or may not be one of the 609 Commandments in the Bible. I try to follow Christ. But it’s real hard.
Yes put a chain on the tech people. Check unfiltered AI ,very good news,,the bubbles breaking and a halt before it blows nice.
I could water the yard with all these MAGA tears...😢
"MAGA tears"? IEE lies again. The only MAGA tears I've seen on-line were photoshopped by lefties. Here's @reddit_lies on Twitter (link, with picture):
"I love how Redditors can't even find an image of Conservatives melting down so they just photoshopped a Maga hat on the crying liberal from Trump's first inauguration.
"Total cultural victory."
PW, we all fail when we try to follow Jesus. If you’re shocked that I’m a sinner, then you don’t know Christ.

I think PW is a bot.
Or me.
Wow. Now I’m fighting with.AI. It’s been that kind of day. Thanks
