"Stephen Miller to Replace Susie Wiles as Trump’s Chief of Staff."

The NYT reports.

Ms. Wiles’s departure and the ascent of Mr. Miller will fundamentally shift the circle of advisers around Mr. Trump as the White House absorbs the shock of the midterm elections.... The Republican wipeout has inflamed tensions within the administration, as officials brace for congressional investigations by Democrats and further turnover in the West Wing and the cabinet.... After the elections, Mr. Trump made it clear to some advisers that he was unhappy with Ms. Wiles and his political team, who persuaded him to sign off on his super PAC spending $400 million to help Republicans in the midterms....

As for Miller:

Stephen Miller, a deputy chief of staff, has been the architect of some of the most radical domestic policies in Trump’s second term, particularly on immigration. He has also served as a fiery surrogate for the president’s most divisive moves. Earlier this year, as Trump publicly toyed with the idea of invading Greenland, Miller laid out a vision of American imperialism in which the United States could freely overthrow national governments and take foreign territory and resources so long as it was deemed in the national interest.

At least he didn't appoint Mark Levin.

Trump had better remember to pardon her for everything before he leaves office. In fact, he should pardon everyone, even if Vance wins in 2028. The Democrats are vicious assholes who never forgive or forget, and some D president in 2033 would start to prosecute.

rcommal বলেছেন...

I suspect this is a doubling-down on President Trump's part, which is not surprising. He's still got more than two years to go and he still has things he wants to accomplish. Plus, it will alarm and piss off people, which is a feature and not a bug, after all.

He does, as do all presidents, have the right to choose the person he wants as CoS. I recognize this, of course, though clearly I'm not a fan of Miller.

To hear the MAGA people who Trump kicked out of the movement, who used to be in the room with him, the ones that still have contacts in the White House, she is the one who made sure that nobody who wasn’t on board with selling out his base and splitting his coalition, got to talk to him. Maybe Barack would campaign for him. No, not that Barack, the previous one, before he got all the fancy real estate.

It's definitely a fucking bug when you want to win elections in the future. Trump is the most hated and least popular president in modern history. It will take years to get the stink out of the GOP. Two more years of Full Trump will not help. The republicans might lose even more seats in 2028. The presidency is a pipe dream for the GOP unless you get some outsider to run in 2028 as an anti-Trump candidate. We literally just witnessed what happens to pro-Trump candidates. It's only going to get worse from here.

And the next democratic president (Ossoff looks like the early front frunner) will come into the office with the new Trump Powers. The Trump Accounts will be a fun sandbox to test out fun social engineering projects. (How does $25,000 to black babies as a form of "reparation" sound?) Trump never understands that a great resume or an Ivy league education means zero if you're not loyal or not a team player. And sometimes the job isn't one thats contingent upon being the "smartest guy in the room". Its more important to have good judgement and understand what's going on.

How Steven Miller got started (Per Google AI):

"In 2006, while an undergraduate student and columnist for The Duke Chronicle at Duke University, Stephen Miller gained national attention by fiercely defending three members of the Duke men’s lacrosse team who were falsely accused of rape.

Key Details of Miller’s Involvement

• Columns and Commentary: Miller used his biweekly campus newspaper column to argue that the lacrosse players were being subjected to a "witch hunt" and that the campus community and media were presuming their guilt before proper evidence came to light.
• National Television Appearances: Miller appeared on national cable news programs—including a memorable and contentious clash with legal commentator Nancy Grace—to argue that the accused players deserved due process and that public condemnation was biased.
• Aftermath and Vindication: The charges against the players were eventually dropped and they were officially declared innocent after the accuser's story was found to be fabricated and the district attorney, Mike Nifong, faced disbarment and criminal contempt for withholding exculpatory evidence."

Miller’s appointment is puzzling in light of the midterm results, particularly in Texas and Arizona, where Hispanic voters moved so substantially toward Democrats. Immigration enforcement wasn't the principal issue in the election, but dissatisfaction with the administration's approach appears to have contributed to Republican losses.

Rep. Don Bacon made an interesting point in an ABC News interview today. He said that he and other Republicans had warned Miller directly that his aggressive deportation policies would hurt the party in the midterms but Miller dismissed their concerns. Bacon also acknowledged that Miller might be effective at coordinating the administration internally, while questioning his ability to work constructively with Congress.

Miller certainly has experience advancing Trump's agenda. But if a significant part of Trump's 2024 coalition has become disillusioned with the administration's approach, what problem is promoting one of its principal architects intended to solve? It may help Trump pursue his existing policies more forcefully but how does that address the concerns of voters who have turned away from him?

Congress has enormous investigative resources at its disposal, but the scale of potential corruption, malfeasance and lawbreaking within the Trump administration is so vast that trying to pursue everything at once risks losing the public’s attention. To make anything stick, you need to focus on a few concrete issues that people can understand, remember and follow.

The organizing theme I’d like to see, at least initially, isn’t necessarily the most emotionally satisfying or even the most consequential. It’s one that I think speaks directly to what Americans are interested in: follow the money.

Who bought what from the Trump administration? Who gave what to Trump and his associates? What was behind arrangements like the Qatari jet?

How much has the Trump family made? What government contracts or business opportunities ended up in family hands? What’s happening with Jared Kushner’s investment fund, and why has it attracted so much interest from Gulf state sovereign wealth funds? I’d like to see the actual details.

And it’s not just about who paid what or who got access. What did they receive in return? Where has the money gone? How much have Trump, his family and his associates actually made while ordinary Americans have been struggling with rising costs at the gas pump, the grocery store and the housing market?

And this shouldn’t stop with Trump himself. What about Don Jr., Eric, their friends and associates, Steve Witkoff’s son, and the money flowing through the various cryptocurrency ventures? There are enormous sums moving around, with plenty of questions about who is benefiting and why.

To me, that’s where the investigation should start. Make the financial connections transparent, establish who benefited, what they received in return, and let the evidence tell the story.

IEE: "trying to pursue everything at once risks losing the public’s attention. To make anything stick, you need to focus on a few concrete issues that people can understand, remember and follow."

Perhaps this is the number one lesson learnt from Trump 47:1. It is difficult to reduce election fraud, or the long-term benefits of relocating industries here, or the convoluted chain of USAID misuse, to soundbites. And even though I said in another post that Trump has to fight everywhere all at once, there is a cost: almost no one but Trump himself can keep track of all the fights.

Perhaps Trump has set a counterexample for the Left. But they have their own problems with whittling down the problem set: each problem is near and dear to some member of their coalition. And all of them are matters of moral urgency to the Left.

And of course a lot of them are simply nonexistent...sorry, had to get that in there. But your procedural observation is very perceptive. CC, JSM

Today I learned that 3d doesn’t understand how bribes work. If you hold no office and agree to NOTHING then how is it a bribe, smoothbrain?

Asserting facts without evidence is the biggest tell. Where’s the evidence of, check out my Latin, quid pro quo? Got anything? Bueller?

The fact that the media are in meltdown over Stephen MIller says it all, not to mention the sop about Susie Wiles. Trump did not "fire" her. He is"reshuffling" his cabinet to deal with the communists and Islamists who are about to sit down in Congress or govern entire states. Wednesday the Democrats were jubilant. Friday they are inflamed over Stephen Miller. It's hilarious.

MILLER TIME, indeed. And, hold the Miller Lite!

Let the congressional nonsense begin. The administration has some mighty strong Trump cards.

Start with arresting and charging every "D" asshole in DC and every financial supporter everywhere. Avoid the DC jurisdiction. Bankrupt everyone of the fuckers. Maybe take a page from the woke Brits and jail 'em all for 'hate speech'.

There will never be enough support to impeach judges. But they can be charged with crimes, right?

Go after all involved in J-6 persecutions. Release ALL records of committee investigating same.

Stop covering for the regime in Venezuela. We cannot piss that win away.

Big support for all 'friendly' regimes in Latin America. Big support for Denmark, Greenland, Iceland and othe Nordics and Baltics. Tell the EU to fuck-off. Tell Poland, Romania, Italy to make up their minds.

Call a spade a spade in the UK, France, Spain, Germany and fucking Australia. Support the opposition. Maybe support a Kurd state in part of Turkey/Iraq. Many of the states in the Mideast were "created" by ignorant Europeans after the end of the Ottoman empire. Maybe tell them to welcome 'their' Palistinians back!

Declare the UN facilities in NY unsafe. Demolish them.

End islamic non-assimilation in the USA.

Make it illegal to print ballots in anything but English. Disqualify any candidate campaigning in anything but english. Vote in-person. One day. Paper ballots. Ballot preservation. Voter ID with a unique voter number (any duplicates are tossed). All ballots to be printed with races and names in random order to prevent "vote by the numbers'.

Require any candidate for federal office (including judges) to qualify for a "secret" clearance. Some functions to require a TS clearance. Violation of terms to be rewarded with jail time.

HUGE support for Japan, Taiwan, Southeast Asia. China is aggressively trying to buy them off.

BOMB, BOMB, BOMB Iran. Make it clear to the Iranian people we are going home when we're done and we're not coming back. If no response, tell them to get away from cities and infrastructure for 48 hours because it's ALL comming down. Just do it.

Get rid of ANYONE trying to get between you and Miller, Hegseth and others who actually support MAGA.

If needed, use the "M Word" - Martial Law.

Announce. Act. And, them PLEASE, JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP! (and quit naming stuff after yourself for about five minutes!).

People will follow stern leadership. They have only contempt for those who can't stop claiming to be the GOAT.

The media(D) soviet - melt down over anything Trump does or does not do - in any direction. It would be hilarious if it were not so pathetic and tired.
