"He" = Talarico.
Though it felt unfamiliar to vote for Democrats, Mr. Waumsley said he was happy about his choice. But he emphasized that he was voting for the people, not the party, and that he would be watching them closely to make sure they followed through.
"I really want to move on from what we currently have,” he said, “because what we have isn’t doing it."

After yesterday's market rout, and some craziness coming from the more progressive of the newly elected legislators, there will be some inevitable buyers' remorse in the electorate.
The Times will thus be in full-message that you voters did the right thing, it will all be OK. Never mind all the noise. Remain calm.
He'll get through it okay. As long as he submits.
"..But he emphasized that he was voting for the people, not the party.."
that's WHY it happened, in EVERY STATE.
that's WHY there were TWENTY MILLION MORE VOTES THAN 2022
it was the "people", not a party get out the vote
it was the "people", not a party manufacture the vote
Talarico is one of the weirdest persons in public life today. Not normal.
it was because of the 8 month long FOREVER WAR (23 dead!)
unlike say, Biden's wars (or O'Bama's)
no wait!
it was beacause of the UNBELIEVABLY HIGH gas prices! ($4.40/g)
unlike say, Biden's (or O'Bama's)
NO WAIT! i have it!
it was the %3 inflation! people were PISSED!
it SURE WASN'T mail in voting!!!
In 21 states EVERY county shifted blue?
That Is Odd.

My connection to young people is primarily thru social media, and I’m receiving a message which is becoming increasing difficult to encounter or dismiss.
Their argument is: “Show me the money!”
The young are reading or watching every day as the tech titans talk about $2 trillion IPOs and the wonderful future that is coming after everybody loses their jobs. So, my young correspondents are saying: “That’s great, but what am I supposed to do now and in the immediate future?”
I’m all in on AI. I worked in tech and I can see the glorious future. But, the tech titans have to start spreading the wealth now and they have to do it quickly. They know it, too. Listen to Musk, Andreessen and Diamandis. They all know that UBI, HBI or sovereign wealth funds have to arrive very soon. Mass production of Optimus robots by late 2027 is the crucial turning point.
I can understand this. I wanted to punish GHW Bush in 1992 for his “read my lips: no new taxes” pledge that aged like milk. My expectation was that he would continue the Reagan Revolution. Things were going so well! Why wouldn’t Bush keep to the plan that encouraged the booming economy?
I was only 30. My memories of Nixon and Ford were spotty but I could see the awesome results from tax cuts and the pro-business stance of the Reagan administration. The young outsider was saying the right things about the economy and my ambivalence about politics was high. Regrettably I sat out the election of 1992.
By ‘94 my fire was relit. Newt put together the pledge and the midterms established the first Republican Congress in 40 years. I’ve never sat out any election since. The next two years, IMO, will similarly snap voters out of the antipathy they had. Will it be enough to put Desantis in the Oval Office?
We’ll see. He is obviously running. And he can’t be smeared as a Trump insider.
It was Americans who couldn’t/wouldn’t accept indecency, corruption, inhumane treatment of migrants, killings in the streets of American citizens by masked ICE agents, more foreign wars which is costing working Americans money they don’t have for necessities, gaslighting Americans about the struggle of affordability, bizzare behavior by a narcissistic US president who embraces the world’s autocratic leaders while making enemies of former allies, stupid trade wars, the Doge farce that basically was invented to get private information of Americans to put together a Federal voter roll, the unanswered questions and withholding of documents about sexual predators who were Trump’s best friend for years, cultist loyalty to a extremely flawed man, and so much more.
It was repudiation of Trump and Trumpism, it’s not about the Democratic Party.
Ah, the IGNORANCE of youth.
Shouting Thomas:
Tell young people that the stock market opens in less than two hours.
The GOP squandered their support from young white men. Instead, we got an army of H1-B visa immigrants, and infinity Indians.
Tristan is just someone that believes the lies told by the Soros trolls. He has no idea what it is like in California compared to what he had in Texas.
Meanwhile, Newsom just commuted over 500 death row sentences. They cheer shooting innocent people in public, and then free those that do the killing.
grok just told me that it was "only" TEN million more votes than 2022
and that it was 25 million LESS votes than 2024.
STILL, hard to believe that every county in Texas voted dem
Another hysterical, crazy rant from Inga. Really, why do you keep shitting your pants this way in public? Are you incapable of any constraint? And, the issue isn’t whether I agree with you or not. On my FB feed, I block people who rant like fools whether I agree with them or not.
One party D rule is coming to America.
I will someday only vote in D primaries so I can pick the most conservative D.
Oh shut up and sit down ST, everyone here knows about your rants and raves over the years. You have no moral authority to direct anyone here to do anything.
Joe Bar said...
"..The GOP squandered their support from young white men. Instead, we got an army of H1-B visa immigrants.."
this is true. Vivik went on the record saying that Indians were "harder working" that Americans, and that as an Indian, he would ONLY hire them.. That was when he lost (6 months ago)
Across the US the Reps picked the shittiest candidates they could find, then the Reps campaigned AGAINST their own candidates
They did a stupid thing and we will see if we can get oit of it
Texas will regret turning blue - the competitive advantage it held over places like California is gone, at least temporarily. No one goes to Texas to enjoy the refreshing summer months.
Someone's about to get mugged by reality.
"What we have isn't doing it." But if we could just get our hands on what *you* have...
Americans in every state long for the basic decency that Americans have revered since it’s inception. Black voters surged, Hispanic voters surged, young voters surged, young men left Trump in droves, women increasingly were disgusted by Trump. Americans were as patient as we could possibly be to speak with our votes to put America back in order. It’s a fucking mess.
@Inga, the most indecent ranter on this site pleads for basic decency. You cannot sink any deeper into a pit of self-delusion.
Basically the Joe Rogan demographic stayed home or switched candidates. Maybe protecting pedos and starting wars didn't play well. Just a thought.
The bad news for MAGA: it's not over yet. Trump will NOT moderate his behavior which means the GOP will continue to be even less and less popular leading up to the 2028 election. He is going to be doing stupid obnoxious shit and the electorate will continue to hate him and the GOP. (And imagine if we are STILL in Iran in 2028 and gas is STILL over $4/gallon.)
It's going to get worse before it gets better. Sorry.
There is a glimmer of hope though: the democrats usually fuck it it up.
Useful idiots. Face the wall.
Earth to young skulls full of mush, prices are not coming down. Excepting gas prices, which will come down when the Iran war is over, current high prices are baked in the cake.
Gilbar. It wasn’t because of a FOREVER WAR or how many died. It was because we voted for someone who said he was America First and that he would NOT start a war. Instead we got Israel First and a stupid war that hit all Americans’ pocketbooks. But I see from your avatar which way your loyalties lay, traitor.
The number one issue for voters in the FNC exit polls was “government corruption” at 90% of the electorate. Affordability was second. The war was only 51%. Not following up on the corruption and fraud found by DOGE was a bigger problem than the “war” in which we are losing almost no combatants.
Speaking as an older person, I admit freely that I have of late been spending an inordinate amount of my free time sitting on jobs and devouring resources so our far-seeing and middle-aged Mr. Waumsley might just have a point.
“I’m a Republican. We Have Let Too Many Weirdos Into Our Party.
“For the past two years, President Trump and his core supporters have governed by the mantra “We can just do stuff.” On Tuesday, voters replied, “So can we.” It did not go well for the Republican Party.
Voters want normal people in charge, and they took their wrath out on otherwise normal Republicans who refused to push back against the lunacy, corruption and incompetence within the G.O.P.
Republicans have spent years warning that a party unwilling to confront its radicals will be defined by them. They meant the Democrats, and pointed in particular at the democratic socialists working to take over the Democratic Party from the inside.
Now that warning applies to the G.O.P. The weirdo right will not stop in its attempt to take over the Republican Party, and party leadership must resist it or watch a group that openly declares its contempt for conservatism do to the G.O.P. what the democratic socialists are trying to do to the Democrats.“
NYT
Ground beef will remain at $6.50/ gallon.
Why did pump prices drop more than 50 cents in MN the day after? Do that many Muslims own gas stations that they can act like a cartel at retail?
Owner-operators have more control over gas prices than Big Oil at the retail level and that sudden sharp drop is… interesting.
All that money being spent to build data centers in Texas. Well, now that the Dems are in, some of that money can be re-directed to build homeless shelters or free needles for pregnant drug addicts........Capitalism works, but academics, artists, and young people have an instinctive distrust of it.. They can see the vision and the beauty in the plans of men like Lenin and are utterly contemptuous of men like Musk.....A lot of these DSA people are young and personable. That wins votes and data centers don't.
All summer Trump proclaimed, every other day it seems, that the war was over and an agreement with Iran was reached, but there weren’t any agreements and the war did not end. At some point a reasonable person had to start questioning Trump’s competence or rather incompetence. Then you start noticing that Trump says all kinds of false bullshit. Then you start noticing that he is fucking delusional - for example saying that if he had been on the ballot on Tuesday the dems would not have won. That is fucking delusional thinking. Claiming that the dems win on Tuesday because of cheating is also flat out delusional - I’m looking at you Gilbar, always knew you were an idiot now I can add delusional to the mix.
“The number one issue for voters in the FNC exit polls was “government corruption” at 90% of the electorate.”
Yes and that’s why they voted Democrat, not Republican where Trump’s corruption has been exceedingly evident.
Prices coming down? No, but the Dow will. Dow futures are down another 500 this AM, and by extension, your 401K.
Oh Inga, even with all-time weird President Trump on our side we will never attain the stratospheric weirdness of the Democrat’s Big Tent. You are really overlooking a LOT of edgedwellers in your party. We are woefully (or from my POV thankfully) short on trans Congresscritters (you have 2+) and cousinfuckers and husbro jihadis.
But we’re working on it.
“Then you start noticing that he is fucking delusional - for example saying that if he had been on the ballot on Tuesday the dems would not have won.”
“Pretend I’m on the ballot!” says Trump, and America did just that.
Soapbox haranguers plastering rage-post after rage-post, including the one where they tell other people to shut up and sit down. The screaming 'Nooooo!' lady meme is the boot on your face, forever.
When it comes to politics this blog is idiot flypaper. I have never seen so many moronic comments. Most Americans were unhappy with where the country and their livelihoods were going and it was clear that it stemmed from Trump’s leadership, so they punished the republicans brutally in response. I hope to vote republican again in 2028 once the delusional, narcissistic idiot in office is gone once and for all but until then I am holding my nose and voting blue because the dems for all their faults are better than the republicans under Trump.
No Inga. Strong majorities in BOTH parties chose corruption and the Republicans were not reacting to imaginary Trump crimes but the obvious $200B fraud plaguing Medicare and Medicaid.
Read the article if you want the facts: https://danaloesch.substack.com/p/what-jd-vance-gets-wrong?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=84836&post_id=223535434&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=true&r=9bg2k&triedRedirect=true&utm_medium=email
Dearest Aggie, America was enraged, not just me, hence the Blue Tsunami.
Taxes affect everyone. People hate having their tax dollars stolen. It’s stupidly simple to comprehend and 90% of voters said so. The #1 issue.
Trump motivated 2M more Republicans to vote this year over 2022. Democrats found 20M more. Maybe Trump moves both needles.
Lawnerd: “I have never seen so many moronic comments ………… but until then I am holding my nose and voting blue because the dems for all their faults are better than the republicans under Trump”
Embrace open borders, my friend.
Wonderful. Open borders, anti data centers, pro bankruptcy, pro child mutilation, communists voted in. Amazing how clueless you have to be to vote Democrat ( I.e. pro Obamacare ) because you are mad at healthcare prices.
@Lawnerd, this is the same suicidal path that the Brits followed when they chose an executioner over the Jerry Lewis Bellboy. Look at their society now and trace the path.
Just remember, the party now elected to power wants to do away with constitutional controls, irrevocably fix the Supreme Court, Congress, Electoral Court, and is bragging right now about how they will destroy a presidential administration rather than work with it. And that doesn't include the societal harm they have already visited upon us, and will now resume.
'He's somebody normal, like me...'
A really, truly, stupid thing to do.
Blaming the stock market drop on the democrats win is another dog that doesn’t hunt. AI was a bubble and all reasonable investors knew it was a bubble. All bubbles eventually pop, analysts have been warning of the AI bubble for some time now so this shouldn’t come as a shock.
Bumble Bee-I am not sure that those numbers mean that every county switched from red to blue. I think it means that the Dem share of the vote in each county increased.
In the 2022 midterm, there were 54.2 million Republican votes nationwide. In 2026, 55.6 million.
So the idea that disaffected Republican voters shifted to Democrat in large numbers seems to be provably false. And the "preliminary results from Times Voter Trends" cited by the NYT seems to be propaganda (shocking, I know).
The Dems somehow got 20 million more votes.
Aggie I hear you but ultimately decided that Trump’s path is worse. I honestly believe he is unhinged in a dangerous way.
**Yes and that’s why they voted Democrat, not Republican where Trump’s corruption has been exceedingly evident.**
I live in a state (Minnesota) where corruption is rampant, where billions of dollars were stolen, money that was supposed to help people but instead went to the coffers of grifters, and every single fucking Donk got reelected. Don't tell me it's about Trump's corruption and good government if you're a Democrat.
""Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."--Santayana (This is very often rephrased as ""Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it" or something similar.)
I do think this cuts both ways, and often enough simultaneously.
@Lawnerd, Ok fair point (re: the Dow drop). Why did it crash?
Consensus I’ve read is the Commies are slamming the brakes on Data Centers and going after large corporations.
I do think constant, repetitive insult culture is not helpful.
OMG! The party in power lost the midterms!
We must search for answers because that NEVER HAPPENS!
Every election cycle there are broad proclamations that the losing party is dead for good, either dems are dead or the republicans are dead. I’ve already read stories that tuesday’s loss is the death of the republican party. But political winds switch. I am sure the democrats will do dumb shit in the next two years that will make the republicans palatable again. For me two years of stupid dem shit is better than two years of Trump shit. Also this loss signals to the republicans that Trumpism is a losing strategy, you see it already with JD Vance distancing himself from Trump. Again, that signal was needed and could only be sent by republicans voting blue this cycle.
I pity these young people. No party will help them. The democrats will choose illegals first.
Inag - you've been Maddow enraged for a long time. No one here cares.
I follow the stock market daily and closely monitor my investments, as I have for most of my life. (Being self-employed, paying both sides of social security, and being responsible for creating my OWN retirement pool and "pension" will do that to you.)
We have been a bubble for quite some time, politics completely aside. Whatever happens may be exacerbated by current politics, but they will not be causal. There are a lot of factors involved, and politics is a small one. Just MHO, but I have been very successful in preparing for my future, which is now. I worked for that knowledge (and for the money that will be funding me in my waning years).
I intend to continue being clear-eyed about the stock market. That would be my number 2 piece of advice I'd give to anyone. (Number 1 is START EARLY, no matter how small, and then be consistent, no matter how small.)
The AI bubble will burst like all bubble’s burst, investors get nervous and take profits when they can. That sell off triggers greater sell offs. Investors have been growing increasingly nervous about AI stocks for some time and the sell offs was bound to happen.
What it comes down to is that the country voted "normie" - we want jobs and lower prices and the Dems put up an effective pretence that they would do something about that. They won't. So we keep pointing that out and comparing the Trump economy.
But there was also a twist. There were groups that were shifting Republican and they went back.
1. The Hispanics were terrified by the message that all illegals were going back. The policy has to be refined so there is a "Remain in America" side, an Abuela exception, a kind of set of points that a person can accumulate which mean that they go to the end of the line for deportations and are released even if they are picked up. For example, a grandmother who has been in this country over twenty years, no other crime except coming here, taxpayer, child in the Army. That kind of thing.
2. Black men. When we consider the state of education in the Big Blue cities, it's evident that the blacks educated there cannot get and keep a good job without affirmative action. 40% of the black guys in those cities do not graduate from high school. Those that do, men and women alike, are not necessarily educated to the 4th grade level. This group was threatened by the end of DEI and affirmative action and went back to the Dems. We should propose the reforms we know from the Mississippi experience will work and say they must be implemented in the Big Blues. After all, there is a group of blacks in every city which is actually being educated outside the ruined schools and it knows we cannot continue to respond to the problem by putting the uneducated in charge of hiring at universities and such. They are afraid to say what they think because of the force the requirment of black solidarity. But they exist to build on.
3. The young were never moving in our direction. Tucker Carlson was pandering to that fact. But so far as they experience socialism, which is stifling in every way, they will. We have to present family life as more attractive than Tinder; a job as more attractive than meagerly scraping by on SNAP.
This is the democrat party right here
did you see El Sayed talking to his cult super fans. He introduced himself using his really long Islamic name and he did so in a dark deep voice of pure evil.
Inag timing is hilarious. She goes subsurface for weeks at a time. Then some negative event hits the Trump administration and 2026voilà
and she resurfaces again. (Typo above).

You should have that same feeling again right now."
The blue tsunami was bound to happen. When Republicans get the strings of power they inevitably factionize and refuse to effectively govern. Nothing gets done and the voters that got them in office switch or sit out. Voila!
And also
The old are living on income from the stock market, that is to say, investments. That form of prosperity exists in a capitalist economy only. It will tank under the Dems. Point that out.
In 2024 Trump got 77 Million votes.
In 2026, Republicans got 55 million votes, when Trump was not on the ballot.
And there were 1.5 million more votes cast for Republicans in 2026 than in 2024, when Trump was not on the ballot (I'm pretty sure I recall that he was trying to stay out of jail).
But sure, he's "delusional."
Lawnern, As a reminder, Biden initiated US entry into war with Iran backed Hamas in Gaza in 2023, Iran backed Hezbollah in Lebanon in 2024, and Iran backed Houthis in Yemen/Red Sea in 2024. 6 Arab countries backed Trump’s Iran war.
Just remember, the party now elected to power
Aggie, Republicans control two out of the three branches.
Democrats control Congress.
It's annoying, but it's not the end of the world. Congress often does a lot of nothing (a.k.a. posturing).
"The Dems somehow got 20 million more votes."
Odd...now where have I heard that number before?...
He voted *straight* Democrat this time. Which means he voted for Democrats before, just not all up and down the ticket. Okey.
I love how the NYTs finds 3 people and they're supposed to be representative of 30 million people. Anyway, If "young people" are voting Democrat, the key questions are "How many are immigants? and "How many are POCs?".
Because "young black people" voted 85-15 Democrat. Just like always.
As people are stating on the internet, an huge number of new voter Registrations occured from 2022-2026, very few were checked for citzenship. And of course, nobody needs to speak English to vote or be a Citizen.
And since the Republican Senate refused to pass the SAVE act, the D's were allowed to cheat with mail-in ballots. It is suspicious that the R's got wiped out almost EVERYWHERE. It wasn't just that they lost the Senate in Texas and Ohio, they lost the Governorships. They got creamed in GA in everything. They lost high level offices in Mississippi and South Carolina.
So I dunno. Maybe its "young people lashing out" or maybe MAGA Republicans just stayed home.
"He voted *straight* Democrat this time."
I thought he said he voted for Talarico. (ba-da-bump)
Young people do not understand anything about the reality of actual fascism - actual socialism and actual communism.
The democrats screamed "you're a fascist" for years - and it turns out it's them. But young people don't know - because they are not educated.
and our education system is about to get a lot worse.
"After warning about fascism, the Left proposes seizing private corporations"
The naked blue journalists -- like extras in Braveheart -- are jumping up an down, excited that Democrats control the means of production. No, wait. Democrats control Congress.
Congress! The most powerful branch of the federal government! (cough, cough)
The Framers intended it to be the most powerful, but 250 years later, many would put Congress in last place, behind the King and the 9 Unelected Dictators. This assumes that anybody in Congress actually reads the Constitution. I have seen no evidence that they do any of that.
"We don't do that lawyer stuff. We're Congress! We blather and do nothing. It's our signature non-achievement."
If you had to give the Democrat party one of the three branches of the federal government, which one would you pick?
Congress. They start running for reelection, what, a year from now? I don't know if they ever stop fundraising. It's pathetic. The Democrats are still the least powerful party in D.C. And it's not even close.
Serious question. Given the secrecy of ballots, where do the identity group voting numbers come from? Are they from exit polls and extrapolation? Do all these number crunchers have the voter rolls, so they can apply the exit poll data against the demographics of any specific group of voters?
Inga lives! Returned for her kind of "normality": Learing Centers in every community. Men in womens' sports, locker rooms, and bathrooms. Open borders/total immunity for illegal alien criminals. Lawfare against anyone who doesn't agree with them. No wonder she's gushing like she's having an orgasm.
Basically, the Republicans gave their voters no reason to come out and vote. The "Do-nothing" Republican Senate stopped any legislation. The Courts stopped Trump's executive orders. Trump had driven gas prices and food prices up with his moronic sneak attack and war with Iran.
Young people cant buy houses, and the R's don't care. All the DC Republicans wanted to do was help Israel and Ukraine, and give $$ to Big Ag and Defense.
Of course, the housing prices are driven by population growth and immigration. Not to mention, letting private equity funds snap up houses.
Indentity group numbers come from exit polls. Some firms also do regular polling right after the election.
Dumbing down the masses - Plan (D)
Illegals voting - Plan (D)
Lying to voters about fascism - Plan (D)
Rage Fuel and Murder Lust = Pan (D)
Illegally allowing Illegals in, to build a one party state = Plan (D)
The GOP senate under Thune was mostly a waste.
Thune is no Pelosi. (yes I know she rules the house)
Heh. Mr. Waumsley says he wil "closely watch what they (the newly elected) do." Guess that means he will be down at the border sitting on his camp stool, watching the hordes come in. And happy "they" delivered on their promises.
Final comment. The only things that saved the Republican party was Trump. Yeb! or whoever would've lost to Hillary. She would've packed the court and given us open borders.
Nobody wants a Republican party that does nothing except squawk about "Smaller Government" or " We need to reform social security" or "Lets cut the capital gains tax". Or joins with the D's to give us amnesty and open borders. And talks endlessly about $zillions for Ukraine and those damn Ruskiees. The party of Dole, McCain, Romney, and Yeb! is a loser with the voters.
Your parents did the same dumb shit from time to time. The choice is never new over old, but better or worse, and you chose worse.
The young people in my circle voted red, but they said that young people today care most about the costs of things.
Voting for the party that wants gas prices and taxes higher and who evaporated 21% of everything you own in just 4 years (2021-2024), and who have run the most expensive places in the country to live is not thinking - it's just reacting. They want things different so they vote for what they think is different, not what's better. If you're irritated with how long the trip is taking, then choosing to just turn at the first option is not going to help.
Young people can't buy houses. True.
The D's, if they do anything - will keep hiking taxes and destroying the middle class to somehow figure out a way to bribe young people, or create communist tax payer funded housing blocks. But - if that doesn't work, depending on the historical ignorance of our modern age youth, does.
There were 2.9 million new "registered" voters in TX between 2022 and 2024. ID was not required to register to vote. TX "turned " blue w/o the help of disgruntled Republicans staying home or voting D.
The Texas Republican strategy of nominating ugly, old, rich, corrupt men might not be the best.......
The evidence I've seen is all anecdotal, but, young white men cannot get hired in white collar jobs. Until that is fixed, the GOP is dead.
Inga may imagine that due is dancing on the grave of the Republican Party. We shall be back. Lawnerd May think he’d rather deal with “two years of stupid dem shit is … than two years of Trump shit.” I don’t know about that — the Democrats I observe here in Virginia are pretty shitty people. And as is always the case when Democrats and what Lenin called “useful idiots” talk about Trump and Republicans their complaints are couched in broad terms like “Trump shit” and Inga’s vague chats off”corruption,” but one never hears specifics.
@Lawnerd, would you care to enumerate specific complaints about Trump “shit” that you don’t like? Do you complain about closed borders? Have you been hiring cheap labor performed by people here illegally and now you have to pay fair wages because they’ve gone back to Me i o or El Salvador of whever they came from?
@Inga, what “corruption” do you charge the GOP with? Is it anything like the Somali immigrants stealing money intended to feed hungry children?
"Government resources have gone to Baby Boom retirees..."
Penn Wharton analysis earlier this year noted that the federal government is spending
$ 4,300 per capita on those younger than 26,
$ 7,300 per capita on those between 26 and 65, and
$43,700 per capita on those over 65.
With major changes required to Social Security by those just elected to the Senate, it would be interesting to hear whether these young voters want to go the Democratic way (keep throwing money at it) or the Republican way (start transitioning to individual retirement accounts).
People who voted for Trump 3 times are not all of a sudden upset about his perceived deficient personality traits that were talked about all along.
Judge Elihu Smails pining for the way Bushwood used to be.
LOL, you guys thought it was just me.
"ot all of a sudden upset about his perceived deficient personality traits that were talked about all along."
He lied, he lied about not starting any new wars, and he lied about Epstein. Now we all know that the Democrats are never going to change anything, but one thing I could do is vote against this war, since the way I looked at it, the election was a referendum on the Iran War, and that if Trump had won, the attack would already have come, and it still might, the oil markets close tonight and there will be no moon, and one thing that was not apparent was that he was owned by Israel, lock, stock, and barrel.
“@Inga, what “corruption” do you charge the GOP [Trump and family] with?
Cryptocurrency and Family Business Conflicts
• Foreign Crypto Investments & Policy Quid Pro Quo: An investment firm linked to the UAE ruling family deposited $2 billion into World Liberty Financial, a crypto venture founded by the Trump and Witkoff families, shortly before the administration approved sales of advanced U.S. AI chips to the UAE.
• Pardons and Regulatory Rollbacks: Binance founder Changpeng Zhao received a pardon after his firm engaged in actions benefiting the Trump family, and the DOJ subsequently disbanded its crypto crimes task force.
• Wealth Accumulation: The Trump family amassed billions through digital assets and real estate ventures while in office.
Foreign Gifts and Emoluments Concerns
• The Qatari Jet: The acceptance of a luxury jet worth hundreds of millions of dollars from Qatar drew accusations of violating the Constitution's Emoluments Clause.
• Global Real Estate Ventures: Trump-branded properties and family-linked developments across Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and Albania raised concerns over foreign governments utilizing business investments to curry favor.
Pardons and Executive Clemency
• Campaign Contributions for Clemency: High-profile figures, such as Trevor Milton, received pardons after major financial contributions to pro-Trump political committees. Watchdog groups like the Campaign Legal Center have tracked numerous instances linking executive clemency to political or financial support.
Stock Trading and Corporate Access
• Suspicious Stock Activity: Disclosures revealed stock purchases in major defense and tech contractors (such as Boeing, Palantir, and Oracle) immediately preceding favorable federal contracts or foreign sales.
• Paid Access to Policy News: Trump Media & Technology Group offered high-priced subscription APIs on Truth Social, charging up to $100,000 monthly for real-time access to official White House announcements.
Google AI
One thing is true though is that unless the Democrats put the brakes on *both* these disastrous wars, in which case I will become a Democrat, I will never vote again for a Democrat the way I did this time.
I'm spitballing around the edges here.
The GOP doesn't plan 5 moves ahead like the mob left does.
The GOP only reacts - and often too late.
The GOP also has a candidate problem. While the left are grooming younger AOC types.. the GOP does not have a similar operation.
The GOP is old people. The younger generations, who are groomed by leftists in our schools have zero interest in voting for some old white dude.
The Dems ran better ads. full of BS, but effective.
The GOP were too soft, & not focused on policy.
Inag says that wealth accumulation by Trump is illegal.
Inag is a Fascist.

Charlie Kirk warned Israel that it was losing support among Republicans and its support by Democrats had collapsed, here he is on Megyn Kelley's show, just weeks before he was killed.
Charlie Kirk on Megyn Kelley
You can go about three minutes in to hear the hate that Kirk was getting from Israel supporters.
You know how modern spy agencies do assassinations? They find people on the edges of society, manipulate them psychologically, hand them a weapon and a plan, then lay low during the actual event. This is how Ukraine assassinated generals (military targets) in Moscow.
"The important divide in the USA is elitist vs populist."
I don't think so. There are left populists too, and they are appealing to the poor and those who think they are, and they won.
The divide is a matter of understanding and reason versus emotion and various tribes that voted the same way. The voters simply blamed the wrong people and wrong things. They only waited 2 years and expected things to be somehow all fixed with no holes. Much of it was fixed: the border invasion (ended), taxes (kept low), a lot of fraud and waste (exposed and ended), crime across the board (lowest in history), preventing a nuclear Iran (with extremely low loses) , and fixing the hellhole of Venezuela ( with no loses), Things thought impossible just 2 years ago. But all that was instantly forgotten in favor what problems remain and letting them overwhelm your thinking. It just wasn't intelligent.
I think it's more of the deterioration of thinking and attention span. We simply are not getting smarter anymore, because too much is done for us, and it's weakening our mental survival skills.
"Serious question. Given the secrecy of ballots, where do the identity group voting numbers come from?"
Breezy, it's right there: "Preliminary Results from Times Voter Trends."
Who could possibly question the accuracy of that?

In my view, pollsters underestimated just how thoroughly disgusted voters had become with Trump and the sycophantic Republicans in Congress who bent the knee to him. Democrats certainly benefited, but let’s be clear about what drove this rout: Trump and his corrupt, incompetent band of bootlickers.
Hegseth got the public execution he wanted. Just not the one he anticipated — politically, it was his fellow Republicans who took the hit.
And who would have thought the Iran war might bring about regime change in Texas rather than Tehran?
"Government resources have gone to Baby Boom retirees..."
Penn Wharton analysis earlier this year noted that the federal government is spending
$ 4,300 per capita on those younger than 26,
$ 7,300 per capita on those between 26 and 65, and
$43,700 per capita on those over 65."
Including Social Security benefits in there is just a tad disingenuous, don't you think? It's not a "government resource", it's (at least in theory) a fund that most of us oldsters have contributed lots of our own resources to for a long time, to get a little back.*
Google AI tells me that, retirement notwithstanding, people aged 65 to 74 pay 12% of all federal taxes, and taxpayers 45 to 54 pay 29%.
*Yes, I know--there's no lockbox. In practice we have our money taken from us and misinvested, and we get a portion back much later if we live long enough and don't make too much on our own.
I agree that switching to 401K-type retirement accounts is the way to go. But that takes way too much money out of government hands, so it's not going to happen. (Ask GWB).
“No crying in the casino...“
Democrats will find that quip to be very wrong. Everyone depends on growth.
The corrupt mob left refused to end insider trading in congress.
That's full on corruption - IUD (D) You support full on corrupt leftism - neo-fascism.
Boatbuilder - the Mob Left want to tax Social Security, gut it, and raid our private retirement funds.
If you made $70k per year for 40 years and were able to put your ss tax into an Ira at 6% instead of giving it to the government you would have $1.34M at 67 which would generate a safe income of $54,000 per year for your lifetime. That is for one person not a couple.
@Joe Bar, the problem you describe is real, but part of the issue is that AI is reducing the need for certain white color jobs, a big part of their problem is DEI policies that hire underqualifed women and other minorities in preference to well-qualified white males, and which have gone underground but are still being ruthlessly applied despite the best Efforts of the administration to stamp it out, and the rest of their problem is the abuse of H1B visas
I argue that the first issue will be a problem unless we get rid of AI — which we are not going to do as a country because we cannot stop the application of new technology to address old problems any more than the UAW could stop robots being installed in factories or, back in the day, Ned Ludd and his followers could block the installation of water-powered looms. In the end the labor market will adjust but right now it’s painful. I wish I could be more upbeat.
I agree with the thesis that Trump, probably influenced by his friendship with Elon Musk, is allowing H1B visa abuse — it’s supposed to be for individuals with unique skills, not for 730,000 run-of-the mill software engineers. This is wage busting, pure and simple, and it has to end.
But not every disappointed young, white male job seeker is a software engineer displaced by a Hindu. DEI, which is simply affirmative action coupled with illegal quotas, was put in place by Democrats, under Triump’s leadership has been working to get rid of it but the resistance is fierce and tenacious. If you meet any of those disappointed young, white, male job seekers, tell them thanks for making it tougher to get rid of DEI by voting for the party —Democrats — that fights to retain DEI in any and all of its guises.
"Talafreako" didn't work? I said so. Like a lot of stuff said against Obama, it backfired. Scads of colorless, inert, "normal" Republicans went down to defeat. Before you use the "normal" tactic, check and see what voters really think the window on normality is and how important voters think normality is compared to other issues.
I live in a state (Minnesota) where corruption is rampant, where billions of dollars were stolen, money that was supposed to help people but instead went to the coffers of grifters, and every single fucking Donk got reelected.
Minnesota is a hell hole of fraud.
But MAGA only cares when black people do the fraud. When it is white MAGA grifters stealing half a billion dollars.... Crickets. 🦗 MAGA doesn't hate fraud. It hates immigrants and black people. The fraud is a-okay as long as the "right" people are doing it.
Just remember, the party now elected to power wants to do away with constitutional controls, irrevocably fix the Supreme Court, Congress, Electoral Court, and is bragging right now about how they will destroy a presidential administration rather than work with it.
And on the other side we have a president that is prosecuting Unconstitutional war and threatening to terminate broadcasting licenses because he doesn't like the jokes comedians tell about him.
Republicans and Democrats are both enemies of the Constitution. Don't kid yourself and think there is a good side.
what “corruption” do you charge the GOP with?
1. Pay to play crypto dinner.
2. Crypto "pump and dump."
3. Old school fraud and abuse by ICE by overpaying some ~$400 million on private prisons.
4. Soliciting bribes.
5. Maintaining secret bank accounts with the Arabs.
6. Getting rich on prediction markets by announcing and calling off bombing.
7. Making more stock trades than all of Congress combined!
Just a few things. There is much, much, much more. This is the most corrupt administration of my lifetime and it's not close.
“That is fucking delusional thinking.”
A question for you, lawnerd: how delusional must one be to cast votes for facist/socialist/communist fuckwads that hate this country and all it stands for?
One of the encouraging things about Talarico and the other Democrats who won in red states is that they’ve demonstrated the competence and appeal needed to win in difficult political environments. And because they can’t take re-election for granted, they’ll have every incentive to keep delivering.
They should also help bring down the average age of the Senate and provide a much-needed voice for younger generations.
It’s time for Democrats to move beyond the old guard (Harris, Biden, Clinton) and invest in their emerging stars—candidates who are more electable, more in tune with the next generation, and have the kind of broad appeal that made Obama so successful.

Are we talking about Donald Trump or a different socialist fascist authoritarian?
Do you know who actually "hates America"? The traitors who ignore the Constitution to fight illegal wars.

Harris, Newsome, Mayor Pete et al are finished. If I were a Republican I would be very worried about Ossoff and Ro Khanna.

I realize this increasingly puts me in nobody’s little camp on the right, but I happen to think the most pressing issue is that the left is going to gulag all of us."
all of the whacked nazi leftist cultists here - cheer that idea.
DD - your side is destroying our nation with lies fraud and illegals - and promises of chilling Slotikin retributions and gulags.
If Trump made money without coercion or illegality - and didn't force anyone to invest - what do you think you leftists can do?
boatbuilder: "Including Social Security benefits in there is just a tad disingenuous, don't you think? "
No, I don't. To what else could this quoted individual be referring other than that and Medicare.
Spending on retirees is now almost 40% of all federal spending and is projected to continue growing faster than payrolls for most of the next 75 years. It's nuts.
Poor kids. They think they can't afford a home now. Just wait four years when the Democrats are done with you.
Democrats will create a good life for young useful idiots. /s
The idea that Trump is "owned by Israel, lock, stock, and barrel" is obviously false. Trump's attempt to defang Iran is in line with American policy since before Israel even existed. It has to do with oil - not stealing it, but making sure that no hostile power can cut it off. We always pay the world price for it, even in countries we've militarily conquered (Iraq).
Here's Insurrection Barbie on the history of U.S. interests in the Middle East: link. Here are the last five paragraphs, after all the historical details:
"America was in the Middle East before Israel existed, stayed in the Middle East for reasons entirely independent of Israel, and has fought its bloodiest Middle Eastern conflicts against enemies who were America’s enemies first and Israel’s enemies second.
"Israel is not why America is in the Middle East. Oil, geography, Soviet containment, terrorism, nuclear proliferation, and 47 years of Iranian aggression directed specifically at the United States are why America is in the Middle East.
"Now I have heard a lot of people criticize this war, a lot of lazy people who refuse to actually engage with the history and what’s going on in that region. So let me ask them this; what was Donald Trump supposed to do? Was he supposed to let them enrich, or are you going to be a child and pretend like they were not enriching uranium to get to a nuclear weapon because some podcaster told you so?
"What is the specific path forward when it comes to a relationship with Israel? What specifically would people like to see happen? How is that going to secure our national interest in that region? And how are we going to deal with Iran and their seven terrorist proxies that attack American bases?
"I want actual answers to those questions, not a bunch of lunatics running around screaming Neocon."
DD - your side is destroying our nation with lies fraud and illegals - and promises of chilling Slotikin retributions and gulags.
I'm on the side of the United States Constitution. I am always on the right "side."
"Including Social Security benefits in there is just a tad disingenuous, don't you think?"
As well, those over 65 have already been through the "younger than 26" and "26 to 65" groups themselves, when they were taxed to provide benefits for the "over 65" group ahead of them.
Somehow, it's their fault now for getting older and they're being shamed for collecting benefits themselves, that they paid to others during all their working years.
“Blaming the stock market drop on the democrats win is another dog that doesn’t hunt. AI was a bubble and all reasonable investors knew it was a bubble. All bubbles eventually pop,“
Man is not a rational creature, he is a rationalizing creature. The bubble just decided to pop after the election that’s all.
