That gap isn’t just about white evangelicals (although it certainly is partly about them), and it’s one of the Democrats’ chief obstacles to obtaining a durable political majority. Any discussion of the God gap does have to begin with white evangelicals. Their numbers are vast (far more than twice as large as Black Protestants, the most loyal religious Democratic voters), and they vote in lock step. In 2024, white evangelicals voted for Trump by a 65-point margin, 82 percent to 17 percent. Trump lost all other voters by 18 points, 58 percent to 40 percent....

"To understand the religious dynamics of the Texas race, it’s important to absorb the true depths of the 'God gap' in American politics."

Paxton won the Republican Senate nomination with about 886,000 votes.
Texas had 18.7 million registered voters.
In other words, we’ve heard from roughly 886,000 Texans. The other 17.8 million have yet to speak.
…discount any conclusion proffered durning peak political propaganda season. Soon, as the leaves in fall, the meekest will begin the self preservation process by quietly reporting things more closely resembling the truth…
Thank you for the gift link.
I have zero respect for David French
But that said- I don't care about any of this.
The Dems are trying to destroy our county.
Sane people look at the Soviet union with horror and dismay, or at Mao's "great leap forward" with revulsion. Most Democrats now look at those events and say "This is precisely what we want here in America!"
Also: any group of people who hyperventilate about "The Handsmaid Tale" while gleefully putting on a Hijab to show how they are not Islamaphobic.... are braindead, plain and simple.
Last night Jimmy Failla was riffing on the Iranian govt telling Americans to vote D. “What a strange alliance. On one side you’ve got people yelling Death To America. And on the other side you’ve got Iran.” CC, JSM

How many Texans want to trans kids and open borders?
David French is less than perfect when it comes to uncovering TRUTH. Here in Dallas, TX sure there are big evangelical churches, but there are 6 Catholic parishes with 20,000+. Two Episcopal in Dallas proper have over 4,000 each. Don't get started on Catholics in San Antonio they put Dallas to shame. Got any idea how they vote?
Ah, but those black Protestants are the only religious people left in the Democrat party other than the Muslims, and the stray white liberal Universal Unitarians. The Democrat party as a whole has become quite anti-religious and especially anti-Christian. Just take a look on Reddit and you'll see that.
They think that supporting the Israelis in their genocide is going to get them to heaven, “ on a beam of light, just like Moses,” as I heard on a Florida radio station.
Most Jewish Americans do not believe this stuff, any more than Greeks believe in Jupiter and Athena, but evangelicals seem to buy it in large numbers.
Good thing we have attacked Iran, they are a “theocracy”!
Talarico is the antithesis of a guy's guy.
A gay's guy, maybe?

Trump is toast, but the vested interests—Trump, his supporters, and journalists who need material—will keep pretending otherwise.

Sounds like the perfect candidate.
This would be the Republican Armageddon — Democrats win Texas. Hilarious.

Pro-Choice.
Talarico calls himself a "Christian who hates Christianity."
He also says that God is trans.
And he says that Jesus is using the wrong pronouns when he prays to God.
Talarico claims to know God more than Jesus.
He also trivializes Jesus, by claiming he is one of many "prophets," like Mr. Rogers or Toni Morrison or your second grade teacher. The man is shallow and lightweight.
He says the Bible -- which commands us to love our enemies, and our children -- has nothing to say on abortion. He is perfectly fine with the government classifying human beings as non-people. And he says stabbing or poisoning a baby does not conflict with Christ.
People who lie about Christ and seek to use his name to get power are odious to me. I remind myself he's just a kid and he doesn't know what he's saying.
Demonic ken doll is the way i see him, what question is he an amswer to
White Evangalicals are loyal Republicans. Which is why the MSM and Hollywood hate their guts.
Blacks have been voting in "lockstep" since Goldwater. usually 85-15 Democrat. There have been elections where black women voted 95-5 Democrat. Orthodox jews also vote in lockstep. One Orthodox Jewish town in NY state voted 98-2 for Hillary.
Will Texas Evangelicals really vote for the heretic over the adulterer? We'll find out soon. I wonder if the "Talafreako" tactic will provoke a backlash in other quarters though. Talfarico's beliefs maybe irrational or crazy or evil, but it's not like he came up with them on his own. What he's said wouldn't be surprising and remarkable in prestige mainstream seminaries. It's not just Unitarians either.
Ted Cruz 50.9% Beto O'Rourke 48.3%. It's not the same Texas it used to be. Still, however well Talarico does in affluent liberal white suburbs, his support may be weaker in the African-American and Hispanic communities.
"One Orthodox Jewish town in NY state voted 98-2 for Hillary." That seems most unlikely, unless it was a primary against Sanders (or Obama) or unless the group's leader and HRC were close.
How big a factor is this?
Sundance at CTH goes on about...
AME Church stands for the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Formally organized in 1816 by Richard Allen, it holds a monumental place in history as the first independent Black denomination in the United States
Hindu ardhanari
Ardhanarishvara (Sanskrit: अर्धनारीश्वर, Ardhanārīśvara) is a powerful and highly revered deity in Hinduism who represents the complete union of masculine and feminine energies. The name literally translates to "The Lord Who is Half Woman," depicting a composite and perfectly symmetrical form of the god Shiva on the right side and his consort, the goddess Parvati (or Shakti), on the left.
This form is not merely a physical merging, but a profound philosophical symbol deeply rooted in Hindu theology and the Shaivism tradition.
🕉️ Philosophical Meaning
Purusha and Prakriti: Ardhanarishvara represents the cosmic intersection of Purusha (pure consciousness, masculine energy) and Prakriti (primal nature, matter, and creative energy, feminine energy). The deity shows that the universe cannot exist, create, or function without both elements being perfectly balanced.
Beyond Gender: The form illustrates that the ultimate reality or Divine (Brahman) is non-dual, transcending all worldly distinctions, including gender.
Inseparability: It teaches that Shiva and Shakti are one and the same—just as a word and its meaning, or fire and its heat, cannot be separated.
Paxton has numerous scandals to his name, including affairs, impeachment, and felony indictments. The unbiased commentariat on Althouse, believe it's their job to find an equal number of scandals linked to Talarico, including but not limited to his ordering vegan tacos. Whether it’s Talarico saying to love your neighbor or Ken Paxton loving to pork your neighbor’s wife; I think it’s fair to say — both sides interpret the Bible differently.

David French - Mike Huckabee's favorite columnist.
Shorter David French - Please can get those awful white Christians to stop voting Republican? Its stopping us from turning the country into a one-party leftwing dicatorship. Which is what Jesus really wanted. And what i want 'cause - cha-ching cha-ching.
Even Shorter David French - would Christians stop opposing genocide in Gaza? If Jesus Christ stood for anything it was murdering innocent people and stealing their land. And putting Zionist $$ in my pocket.
Albinophobia?
After the incompetent Pete Buttigieg, what the country needs is another Alfred E. Neuman lookalike?
And a demented one, at that.

Talarico supports turning kids into eunuchs.
At that point you are just an evil amoral piece of shit.
Anyone who supports Talarico is worse than a child molester.
I wonder if RC has actually read the Bible? Jesus in His persona as Jehovah commanded the whole "Jews invade Palestine and conquer it" in the book of Judges. And to wipe them off the planet. God Himself destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. I presume there were at least a few children there, though given it's reputation as a LGBT mecca the poor kids who were there were probably being raped and abused and death was a mercy.
But then God brought various groups onto the Israelites to punish them. And Jesus Himself talked about the Roman's destroying Jerusalem... think any "innocent children" were hurt then? So the constant wailing about poor Gaza is beyond tiresome. Here's a dose of hot truth: Gaza is wicked and deserves whatever they receive.
I note that RC and Jaq and the rest never, ever wail about Muslim children killed by other Muslims. Why is that? They aren't special enough for you to be upset by?
As for IEEE: Paxton isn't running around demanding people cheat on their spouse, is he? Talarico is running around demanding that people chop up and mutilate their kids though.

The problem is that it isn't a genocide.
Every single nation around Israel has killed Palestinians. They have proven over the last 8 decades they will be murder muppets and there will never be peace as long as they are a tribe.
The tribe needs to be disbanded. The men need to be killed until they renounce and the women and children disbursed amongst the other tribes.
It is telling that the joooooo haters never address the fact that arabs have killed orders of magnitude more palestinians than the jooooos have.
Lazarus at 2:02. Completely disagree. He's way outside Christian orthodoxy. He wouldn't be welcome at my church. And the Episcopal church is mainstream liberal.
His tactic of trying to politicize Jesus, and put him in a political party, while you demonize your opponents as anti-Christ? That's not coming from ordinary pulpits in the USA. I got yelled at by an Episcopal priest once for even asking if he was a Republican. Christian priests in my neck of the woods don't talk like this.
Go ahead and try to find some MLK quotes, where he is talking about Republicans the way Talarico is today. You won't see them.
This is how Christians talk.
Talarico literally says that Christ is on one side, and the Republicans in the Texas state legislature are on the other. This is childishness masquerading as a political campaign. You think "I hate Christianity" is a normal sermon?
Bishop Spong, who was a radical bishop in my chuch, once wrote a book called Christianity Must Change Or It Will Die. I tried reading it. I got so mad, I threw it into a wall. That's another guy who was never invited to speak at my church. He rejected the virgin birth, among other things.
It's possible Spong said some vile stuff about the Republican party. I googled it and AI doesn't think so. So that's where Talarico is. Beneath Spong.
The Democrats want hispanic votes. So they nominate an Irish guy with a hispanic nickname. Now they want Christian votes. So they nominate a guy who hates Christianity. It's like they build their candidates in a mad scientist lab.
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
Christians. The real ones anyway. Have worshipped God and Jesus Christ for 2000 years. Not Abe Goldstein from Mink. Or Netenyahu who comes from Poland. Or the modern Gangster State of Israel.
Nor do Christians support the murder of innocent women and children because that's what "Tough guys" do.
