Rioting is great fun, that's why young people do it. The correct response is to take the fun out of it via swift and painful consequences.
We’ll be ready for these school boys, they will wet themselves in blood.
Bummer. Oh well.
Social media makes it easy to organize.
Lack of fear and lack of respect of law enforcement.
I get suspicious. Just like I got suspicious when the so-called BLM rioters were looting high-class stores in the USA in 2020. People should track where these goods are ending up at. I'd bet organized crime is involved.
Say, where is that American Pope? Behind walls.
these "rioters" who go to high class stores and steal, always seem to know what goods to take and what to leave.
Kill the very society that made your life easy.
Idiot cruel leftism in a nutshell.
What are the greatest things in life?
To see your enemies defeated and driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
Maybe France can become part of Poland and they can run the foreign invaders out.
One disappointing thing when I went to Europe for the first time was seeing the same high class shops in London, Paris, Rome, etc. that you can see in SF or Manhattan. I naively thought things would be different. This one in France has a differnent name but the high class goods and clothes are all the same.
Defund the Police helps.
Defund the Police is a universal leftist plan.
Well, at least they're not speaking German.
Oh, it's organized.
And it's a crime.

LOL!
It certainly isn't the red-green alliance between antifa and imported muslim invaders.
Nope it has to be organized crime...
Is Bergdorf really the American equivalent?

""I’m French. I want to talk to Americans who are about to vote Democrat. Not to insult you. To warn you. I come from your future. In France we did everything your progressive politicians promise. Free healthcare, free college, generous welfare, strong unions, heavy regulation, high taxes on the rich, a state that takes care of everything. Public spending close to 57% of GDP, one of the highest on the planet. On paper, it’s the dream. Here’s what it looks like from the inside. . . .
Our hospitals are collapsing despite record funding. Our schools rank lower every year. Young people with degrees can’t afford an apartment in the city they were born in. Our best engineers leave for London, Zurich and San Francisco. And the rich you wanted to tax? They left too, and took the jobs with them. The promise was protection. The result is stagnation. The worst part is that nobody in France voted for decline. Every single step sounded generous, compassionate, reasonable. . . . Fifty years of them, and you wake up in a country that can no longer build a nuclear plant on time or keep its streets safe. . . . Trust me. You don’t want to be France."
That place needs some armed Korean shopkeepers.
We won’t be able to save the French if we don’t save ourselves first.
I full expect our local RC Mencken to retort something about ‘Muricans.
It appears that Jewish shops are being attacked and Muslim ones are not. That doesn’t sound like organized crime, in the traditional sense.
Of course, that report could be propaganda. This is a war and the first casualty in war is the truth.
How absurd. When's the last time the USA "built a nuclear power plant"? We should be building a dozen. Are we?
France has a Debt-GDP which is LOWER than the USA. They spend 57 percent on Government. What is the USA, 41 Percent (State/Federal/Local) ? Big whoop.
And the difference is the French spent their money on health care and old age pensions and a safety net. We shovel our money into foreign wars, foreign aid, support for illegals, and big business. The french tax payers gets some benefit from his taxes. The USA one gets almost none.
"these 'rioters' who go to high class stores and steal, always seem to know what goods to take and what to leave."
Because it takes a criminal mastermind to read a price tag.
Oh there's "stagnation" in France. LOL. yeah maybe they should import a 1 million Indian H-1Bs.
It's happening because the French government is allowing it to happen. They could stop it in about five minutes if they wanted to.
And this will likely be coming soon to a city near you. The only reason it might not is because we have the 2nd Amendment.
Milan
ot - a little-
I should not be laughing. but I am.
Ah Oh! France has no chance now. Trump just said "“Close your Borders and take control, before it is too late!”.
They can't do it now. Trump killed their chances with one sentence.
Because it takes a criminal mastermind to read a price tag.
Because high class stores have "price tags". LOL. Its not walmart - dumbo.
The more ya learn about Karl Marx(D) - the more you learn he was just a fat lazy entitled mooch., with Elizabeth Warren ideas
Reports do say the Jewish owned shops were targeted.
Indeed. RC Cola smiles.

You should move to France. It sounds like... Utopia?
NFL to move their Paris game next we- haha!!!, who am I fooling, they'll probably let the rioters on the field...
Cultural appropriation, immolation.
Can we all agree that, except for a few things related to race and sex discrimination, that the Left has made things worse?
Are these the same students who were joining the protests against raising the pension age 2 years ago? Didn't they realize this would be at the expense of their education? And that they themselves will have to work much longer than retiring at 62?
Maybe the protestors should focus their ire on the pensioners and those parties who forced Macron to back down from raising the retirement age.

Too late. The only question now is whether we should start learning Arabic or Chinese.

It always sounds compassionate and generous. Generous with other people's money. The Marxists always tell us they want "the rich" to pay their fair share. They don't tell anyone that the top 5% in wealth pay most of the taxes. Half the people pay no income tax at all.
As I read the comment from the Frenchman above I thought of post war England. They went all in with Socialism. Nationalized airlines, railroads, auto makers, pretty much every industry. It ended in all the things the writer mentions. Stagnation, urban decay, more crime, more corruption. When will humanity ever learn the Utopianism has never worked and never will work. The word Utopia literally means nowhere. Because that is where Utopianism works. Nowhere.
I do go on but damn, why can't people ever learn from the mistakes of the past? Socialism, communism, collectivism. It's been tried. Get a history book. Learn about it.
Diversity is not their strength. Vive la difference!
RCOII: “And the difference is the French spent their money on health care and old age pensions and a safety net.”
Social Security and healthcare are the largest expenditures of US tax dollars.
What did you expect? Like Biden and Pelosi they let illegals flood the country.. but, unlike Trump who deported them, the French cheese eating monkeys will do.. nothing.
Tough luck France... and UK. You did this to yourself and you disarmed the population so they cannot REVOLT!!!
Très vibrant. I bet the food trucks are outstanding.

I stand corrected. Let me rephrase: Because it takes a criminal mastermind to discern that the jewelry and watches in locked display cabinets in a high-end store may be worth stealing.
Is there a faster way to bring a nation to ruin than to invest all of your money into the older people rather than the next generation?
What did we get for our social security investment other than young people who can't afford to buy a house and have kids?
God, you know the type. They will always have the last word. Incredible. Anyway, here's my advice for trolls or bored little kids on the 'net.
1) Put the dumbest interpetation on someone's remark or
2) Comment on some minor point and pretend to misunderstand it.
3) Then play Gotcha!
4) When you get a reponse, never give up.
"It always sounds compassionate and generous. Generous with other people's money. The Marxists always tell us they want "the rich" to pay their fair share. "
The worst is when they try to make spending other people's money sound like a Christian imperative. If people want to take care of the poor and downtrodden, they can just do it . . . invite homeless people to stay in your home, for example. Forcing other people to act out your charitable impulses is not my idea of Christian sacrifice.
Shooting looters on sight is a good idea & should be universally adopted.
The same as Bergdof Goodman in NYC? So rapes and sexual assaults happen in the women's dressing room that no one hears and are unreported for years? Obviously an evil place that deserved to be looted!
I’ve shed a tear and now I’m farting in their general direction.
Obama started the war in Syria that flooded Europe with Muslim refugees, maybe he should have let these ruffians be Assad's problem, but you know who wanted Assad overthrown.
Obama destroyed the government in Libya, and released a second wave of angry refugees on Europe, instead of letting these ruffians be Qaddafi's problem. A funny quote from Qaddafi was that he was holding back the tide and protecting Europe.
If we manage to turn Iran into a destroyed state, without civil government, which is you know who's goal, let's see how many angry refugees that unleashes on the world.
So if you back these wars on the other side of the world to control oil and further Israel's ambitions for regional regiional military domination, kindly stop looking like an idiot and complaining about the consequences that follow for the West.

What those who control the levers of power have done is pry the governments of Europe from the hands of their people, by election jiggery pokery, or judges who can't find a legal reason to overturn the election, like in Romania, fall back to a clause in their constitution that allows them to "vote their conscience.."
Macron engineered the election to thwart the will of the French people, and well, here we are. Macron is one of the most unpopular figures in European politics, somewhere around 10% approval, but he holds on to power with an iron grip.

Next question- why rescue people invading your nation?
Compare Marie Antoinette's expenditures for jewels versus Napoleon's expenses for, say, the 10,000 flatboats that he had built for the invasion of England. French revolutions do not have a history or ending well, nor do they have a history of ever finally ending. I would guess the cost of rebuilding will exceed that a many learing centers.
I think there are only two possibilities for France going forward. The first is that the country gradually surrenders to the Islamists, and becomes the European equivalent of Gaza or even Libya. The other possibility is the Gov’t decides to go full Tiananmen Square on the rioters and starts shooting them in the streets followed by mass deportations. As ugly as the second option is it might be the only way France survives the 21st Century.

Welp. Timmy comes in with the 95 IQ take on the last couple of decades.
Obama took out Libya and Syria at the behest of the current rulers of Europe.
Trump is trying to unwind 125 years of British imperial rule in the Middle East.
But since you are only informed by MSNOW and Fox News you don't actually know what is going on and you say half right half wrong crap.
The fact that you can't tell the difference between what Trump is doing and what Obama did just makes you look stupid.
It seems anyone can get free healthcare once in Canada. Perhaps they could offer the same in France.

Meanwhile, in Italy...
Traditional staples of Italian cuisine face being replaced by couscous and chicken curry on some school menus to accommodate the dietary and cultural needs of a growing proportion of Muslim pupils from migrant backgrounds.
The ban on pork products will be imposed on schools in the province of Pordenone in the north-eastern region of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, which has a high percentage of foreign-born and second-generation migrant children.

That "high percentage" is 21 per cent, BTW.
Macron blames Trump Mais bien sûr.
Can we say Macron did ReverseMohammed – HUPB/PBUH - he took in his lap 25yrs older woman!
Twenty years ago Althouse blogged with deep concern about multiple private Islamic schools in NYC in which the students spent three years doing nothing other than memorizing the Koran.
A month later she followed up with this -
["Mr. Best said there is some indication that hafiz schools might begin offering a more well-rounded education than others in the city."
What?]
I ran into that chasing a link and since we now have Super Intelligence at out fingertips I thought I'd ask my friend Grok to give me an update-
"Yes, these types of schools and programs remain in operation in the New York City area.
The original Muslim Center of New York in Flushing/Queens (featured in the 2006 New York Times article) continues to run a full-time Hifz (Quran memorization) program. It celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025, has produced recent graduates (Huffaz), and still offers intensive memorization tracks, including summer programs."
Good to know. And now they vote.
Please excuse the brackets. Doing it right looked too hard.

Just how is this any different from what we saw from leftist thugs in 2020?
It isn't.
"The fact that you can't tell the difference between what Trump is doing and what Obama did just makes you look stupid."
So we had nothing to do with bombing Syria? The first thing that drew my attention to Syria was when John Kerry talked about our national interests in Syria, and I thought "what are our national interests in Syria other than getting along with the Syrian people in peace? Then there was Hillary, who famously wrote in a leaked email that "al Qaeda is on our side in Syria" and we seized their oil fields and seized their wheat fields, and kept them under sanctions until the country turned into the failed state run by head choppers that it is today, serving Israel's interests.
The waves of Muslim refugees from the war in Syria is what caused Brexit, and what has flooded Europe with these people.
As for Libya, let me quote Hillary again: "We came. We saw! He died! (chortle chortle)" so hundreds of thousands more refugees.
The attack on Iran, precipitated by and Israeli attack, as per Rubio, is just a continuation of this strategy. If you can explain to me what the US national interest was in this attack, I'm all ears, and don't tell me nukes, unless you somehow believe that the attack on Venezuela was about "drug running" and not taking control of its oil: "To the victor, go the spoils." —Donald Trump.
What collapsing Syria did was eliminate a rival of Israel to the north, and probably make permanent its seizure of the Golan Heights, which Trump has recognized, alone in the world, as Israeli territory, and take out multiple S-400 systems that would have made it pretty difficult to fly refueling tankers to strike Iran. After the collapse of the Syrian government, Israel bombed it for weeks to destroy its military capability, until its reduced to a warlord or two with AK-47s and RPGs.
I would agree with you that the first term Trump was different, but this guy in the WH now is way past his sell-by date.
I guess the French really like their Muzzies. They let them have the best of France.
"I guess the French really like their Muzzies."
Until their diversity pets start looting the stores of the French. Unfortunately by then, it's too late for the French to change their minds.
"and don't tell me nukes,"
It's nukes.
“It certainly isn't the red-green alliance between antifa and imported muslim invaders.”
AntiFA blackshirts were the Soviet response to Hitler’s Brown shirts. They have been a Communist front since their founding. Naturally, with the fall of the Soviet Union, they changed their allegiance to the PRC. Yes, those AntiFA riots are funded and directed by the ChiComs, in order to destabilize their biggest enemy.
So, yes, we are talking the infamous Red-Green alliance at work.
And yes, the rioters had lists of Jewish businesses that got burned down. Sound familiar? Of course it does. It’s exactly what the Germans did in the 1930s.
Great, Bruce- light up the RCO signal.
But wait, RC II assured us that they would never harm Jews or anything of value to Jews.
Here he is in the other thread: "But they're smart enough to not attack the Israeli embassy or anything treasured by the Jewish Community in france, because then it wouldn't be 'fun and games', the hammer would come down - hard."
That aged well.
After the 2020 looting in Chicago vacancy on the high priced stores of Michigan Ave has been 33%. A lot of high priced retail shifted online and moved to less concentrated areas in other neighborhoods. It will never recover like it was, the risk always remains. There are blocks and blocks of vacant lots from the 1968 riots left on west Madison street to this day.
It’s no secret that muggers know high priced goods well, they take Rolex and Omega and scoff at lesser brands. They learn by fencing their loot and see what gets the best price. Stolen cars are centered in five or so luxury brands that sell well in Mexico.
I landed at Orly years ago on my way to work in Africa, and we made it to the jetway before the rioters spilled into the taxiways. Since we were at the jetway, we were able to disembark, to find the rioters already working out on the concourse. The police watched them, with folded arms, off to the side. They didn't damage anything much, and I managed to snag my bags and make my connection in spite of the chaos.
The French really like their protests. It's a form of performance and recreation. But it also means that the government often is pretty relaxed about them, and unprepared when they get out of hand.
I was listening to the BBC today and they were discussing Macron's bullsh*t response to all this nationwide mayhem. He 'sympathizes' with the protestors and takes their message seriously. He blames the unrest on problems relating to the war with Iran, which he's careful to mention, France had no part in.
It don't surprise me that Macron is a complete sh*tweasel when it comes to bringing the rioters under control. And of course, looting is an opportunistic sport that needs the right environment to get going, but only a few on-the-scene specialists to really get it rolling. It doesn't surprise me that it's getting started in Italy too. But give the BBC credit, they laid it at the feet of radical leftists. I think there's a good chance that, with elections coming in a few months, France is going to the right. Italy might, too. Brazil might, too. Good.
Paris is so dear to my heart. Mom was born there, and I still have family there. I can attest to the stagnation. Those family members with wealth moved it out of the country decades ago. My cousin sold his real estate company a decade ago, sold his Paris apartment and moved his family to Geneva. A sibling followed him. The French government has treated innovation and wealth creators with contempt for forty years.
There is a young cohort of conservative French who want to steer the country back to her Catholic roots. They were out on the streets in great numbers for the pope’s recent visit. Let’s hope they can make a difference.
Oddly enough I was on my way to Gabon at the time, a French colony. Now, our staff house there was right next to the French Foreign Legion outpost, because Gabon sometimes gets a little spicy. Those were some hard-edged bad boys, I'll tell you. Very fit, quite ruthless. They knew the value of making some blood become visible to calm the crowds, without causing any really serious injury. Macron is playing to the radical left, but I'm not sure they're wanting to play.
“ but this guy in the WH now is way past his sell-by date.”
People love smooth talk more than good economic policy, it’s always been that way.
I look at Iran the way I look at a guy diagnosed for a root canal, oh it will hurt, I will have to pay the deductible, I don’t think it’s a real problem anyway. Then after a few years your jaw rots out.
A stitch in time saves nine, man.
I am way past tired oh Muslims, their violence, and their open disdain for a western norms. I am doubly past tired of their apologists.
If you have an expensive luxury like a LV bag or something, but everyone knows you stole it, doesn't that ruin the whole point of having it to showing it off. It's not supposed to be like a scalp on the American frontier.
@bagoh20, the thieves will sell them to fences for hardly anything, but as the bag(s) were acquired free whatever they are paid is pure profit. The fences sell to middlemen for a multiple of what they paid. The middlemen sell to people who could plausibly afford to buy one, at a fraction of the cost of actually buying one in Galeries Lafayette (but still at a hefty profit for the middlemen).
A clear win-win for everyone except whoever is insuring Galeries Lafayette.
“He 'sympathizes' with the protestors and takes their message seriously. He blames the unrest on problems relating to the war with Iran, which he's careful to mention, France had no part in.”
Well then , I guess it isn’t Macron’s responsibility. No need to do anything.

Do you hear the people sing? Singing the songs of looting men.
Everyone will know that lots of these luxury items were stolen and sold cheaply, so you walk around advertising that you bought stolen property and are basically just a cheap poser. Still seems like the opposite of the point of having luxury, overpriced stuff, and not much different than having a knockoff item. These high-end brands would be wise to stop these thefts. It's worth the cost of security to save your brand.
It started, Timmah, with Algeria. Try reading books instead of social media.
Mueller
bagoh20:
Given the cost of some of these products, it would surely be cost-effective to put some kind of tiny thing in them that would deter theft. A GPS tag could track them so they could be retrieved, and the thieves arrested. Possibly more amusing, a hidden tag could ruin them when a command is sent. (As I recall, the Russians stole a lot of agricultural combines from Ukrainian farmers, but when they got them home, after a huge amount of effort, found that John Deere had "bricked" them.) Something that would cause a stolen handbag to scream like a dying pig at random intervals, or, when it's moving along a crowded street, shout "Help, help, I'm a lime-green Model X handbag from Company Y and the person carrying me is a THIEF! THIEF! THIEF!". Or maybe just catch fire, or fall to pieces, on command.
Rustygrommet:
Timmah is unteachable. I've corrected him on these points more than once already, but, as always, he just waits a week or two or three and then repeats the same refuted lies.
1. Neither the U.S. nor Israel had anything to do with the overthrow of Assad. It was done by the Syrian people, who hated him for murdering half a million of them over the years, with quite a bit of help from Turkey, and some crucial help from Ukraine (drones to kill Syrian command posts and leave the troops paralyzed).
2. Timmeh continues to pretend that there were only two sides in Syria, Assad and ISIS, and that Assad was the better of the two. In fact there were three sides, the third being the various democratic forces who opposed both, which included most of the Kurds and lots of other Syrians. They were and are obviously the best of the three factions. Al-Sharaa, the former ISIS guy ruling Syria now, has either turned over a new leaf and turned democratic,* or is doing a good job of pretending to have done so, because he needs to keep the democrats on his side as they root out the last bits of Ba'athism. There have certainly been some continuing atrocities, but (a) far fewer than Assad committed, and (b) they seem to be coming from disgruntled ISIS members disappointed by al-Sharaa's moderate policies. The fact is that Christians are worshiping openly, women in revealing dresses are partying openly in Damascus, and tens of thousands of Syrians have returned home from Europe. So far so good.
*Other former terrorists have done so: Nelson Mandela, Menachem Begin, Gerry Adams.
