The circumcision analogy was constantly used by the Left here in NE. It is completely moronic. There's a major, major difference between removing a tiny bit of skin from a baby and completely removing a penis.

But I’ve also heard Islamic candidates use a comparison of clitorectomy to circumcision, which is not so ridiculous as comparing religious rituals to child mutilation/abuse of gender-destroying care. Ironically, Abdul here notwithstanding, Jews and Muslims have both supported the religious freedom of America so far. The current DSA candidates don’t share that historical respect for the Bill of Rights. El-Sayed wants Sharia to have supremacy over the Constitution.

You know, there are a lot of issues you deal with in the Senate other than what you want to talk about. It's such a lame strategy, but we know the media will go right along with it, pretending the guy isn't who everyone knows he is. Pathetic.
Circumcision should probably be illegal, too, for boys under the age of 18. At the very least, below an age from which they can't give a verbal assent to the procedure.
I find these DSA candidates to be entirely transparent even when lying and obfuscating. They are bringing nothing to the table for most Americans and are obviously just after money and advantage for themselves and their extensive family and friends here and abroad. They want to make little third-world dictatorships all over the country, rife with fraud and theft. Among themselves, I'm sure they talk of communist rhetoric and lies being the only proven quick and easy path to power, which seems valid in the last 100 years or so. It never works out for the people, but it gets you in power pretty reliably. There are always lots of envious people with grudges willing to vote for impossible promises.

I saw the interview. I was hoping for a Perry Mason moment where Abdul looked weak and evasive or fiery and opinionated.. No such luck. He looked personable and tolerant. He's got some skills as a politician. Maybe Rogers will have better luck than Waters. Waters definitely did not have a gotcha moment........Maybe a friendlier approach would work. Draw him out by asking how Sharia Law could benefit the American legal system. Perhaps it would be a good idea to limit the testimony of those female Supreme Court Justices. I'm sure Abdul has some useful suggestions along thiose lines.
Circumcision seems like an unnecessary thing, but I'm glad it was done to me when it was. Perhaps animals that wear clothing have actually made foreskins unnecessary. I don't miss mine.
What Jesse Waters should have said when asked if he was circumcised:
"Does your wife know that you're . . . interested . . . in other men's penises?" (Or maybe "dicks" or "organs" would be better rhetorically.)
He would obviously reply: "You were just talking about little boys' penises!"

A funny case in Alabama ~30 years ago. A young mother pushing a 2-year-old in a stroller went to a tattoo parlor in a mall to get a tattoo - for herself, just to clarify. They told her they couldn't do it, because she was only 17, and needed her mother's permission, but they could tattoo her 2-year-old, with her permission. The fact that someone not old enough to decide for herself was old enough - well, maternal enough - to decide for someone else was obviously ridiculous, suggesting the law might need to be amended.

Sayed had an interesting exchange with Jesse about wanting to replace the Second Amendment with a right to health care. For some reason, this caused me to have some new thoughts on health care:
1. You already have an unenumerated right to health care. I.e., you can contract with whomever you want to help you with your injuries or illnesses, just like you can contract with whomever you want to fix your car. As important as freedom of contract is, it's not enumerated.
2. Of course, that unenumerated right to health care is seriously encumbered. Only licensed people can give health care, providers and manufacturers operate under a huge cloud of regulations and liability law, the government distorts the health care market by paying for so much health care, etc. At this point, the right to health care is probably more encumbered than the right to keep and bear arms.
3. Maybe someone should start the rallying cry, "if only health care were regulated like guns!"
4. Yes of course Sayed and his ilk mean 'right to health care' as 'right to force other people to pay for your health care,' which isn't a right at all. But it would be fun if people responded to such a deceptively simplistic platform with my logic above. CC, JSM

Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed is a man whose family came from Egypt and visited there frequently during his formative years, a man whose wife, mother and step-mother are all so deeply religious they will not appear in public without covering their hair, a man who frequently speaks of his Islamic faith. Yet we are to believe this man is strongly supportive of LGBTQ+++++ rights. I agree with William, take a friendly approach and try to get him to admit his true beliefs that will turn off the left.
Interestingly, Sayed was also trying to make libertarian arguments for wokery. For instance, transitioning children should be between the parents and the doctor. Trans athletes on women's teams should not be a matter for the government to decide. And of course, open borders are well-known enough as a libertarian idea that he didn't have to say it explicitly. It's an interesting technique, especially since so much of the MI hinterland is inhabited by small-l libertarians.
Watters isn't smart enough to riposte those arguments by saying government already inhabits those areas of life, so drawing the line at restrictions you don't like is false libertarianism.
I would have loved to see Johnny Joey Jones interview Sayed. Joey grew up in a Georgia mill town going to school with the kids of illegal workers who would flee ahead of INS raids then came back with new names a few weeks later. He understands all the ins and outs of labor and immigration and is not unsympathetic to the migrants. But he also does not put up with nonsense, as he showed with his USSS LINCOLN remarks. That's actually a more relevant question as Michigan law since 2017 prohibits FGM of someone under 18. However there are estimated more than 10K women and girls in Michigan at risk, 500K nationwide. And as El Sayed argues, there is not agreement that the government can legislate these procedures. We know where El Sayed stands. There have been documented cases in Michigan. The most prominent was the 2017 federal case involving Detroit-area physician Jumana Nagarwala, who was accused of performing FGM on girls approximately 6–8 years old.
In April 2017, federal prosecutors arrested Nagarwala, a Detroit-area emergency-room physician, and accused her of performing FGM on girls around 6–8 years old at a clinic in Livonia, Michigan. Prosecutors ultimately alleged nine girls were victims.
In November 2018, U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman dismissed the FGM charges, ruling that the federal government had exceeded Congress's constitutional authority when it enacted the federal FGM statute. The judge did not rule that the alleged procedures had not occurred; the ruling was about whether Congress had the constitutional power to make FGM a federal crime.
The government appealed, but the case did not result in a conviction on the FGM charges. Michigan's state licensing investigation was also closed without disciplinary action.
As of 2026, Nagarwala still has an active Michigan medical license. Recent reporting based on Michigan licensing records says her license was renewed in April 2026 and is valid through June 2029.
One important distinction: the dismissal wasn't an acquittal after a trial establishing that she hadn't performed FGM. The central FGM charges were thrown out because the judge found the federal statute unconstitutional.
El Sayed argues these are mere cultural issues and not of concern to Michigan voters.
PS El-Sayed's mother is from Egypt. Her name is Fatten Fathy Mohamed. Columbia's biography says both of El-Sayed's parents came from Egypt; his father was from Alexandria, and his mother studied medicine there before becoming a psychiatric pediatric nurse practitioner in the U.S. His parents divorced when he was very young and his father remarried soon afterwards. His step mother and grandparents who are White and from central Michigan were very important in his upbringing.
In Egypt, FGM was extremely common among women of his mother's generation.
The 2021 Egypt Family Health Survey found that about 86% of ever-married women aged 15–49 had undergone FGM. Fatten Fathy Elkomy being Egyptian and having grown up in the era when FGM was extremely prevalent makes it statistically plausible, but it would be speculation to say that she did.
Someone should also ask El Sayed if he discussed FGM with his mother? What are her opinions?
