"In 1983 she was mugged when she was out with her friend Larry David. She smiles. 'This is the curse of Larry David...'"

"'... it was terrifying but it was also hilarious. We both co-operated because there were two young guys and one of them had a shotgun, but Larry, I guess through stress, slipped into sounding like [the confident sports journalist] Howard Cosell. Going, "All right, take the money, everybody just stay calm." And I was looking at him, like, who are you?'"

From "I wrote Thelma & Louise — nothing has changed for women since then
Callie Khouri is turning her film into a musical. She talks about discovering a young Brad Pitt, getting mugged with Larry David and why she would love to return to Nashville"
(London Times).

Also: "... Khouri says, looking resigned, that she doesn’t think much has changed for women since that day when, fired up, she wrote a fantasy about striking back against everything she had to put up with. 'In the US it’s got worse,' she states. 'They’ve rolled back our right to bodily autonomy. I know a lot of women trying to start families and they are afraid because if something goes wrong they can’t get help. It seems unconstitutional.'"

"In the US" makes it sound as though she's not American, but, per Wikipedia, she was born in San Antonio, Texas and raised in Kentucky.

Also: She's the daughter of a Lebanese-American Maronite father, she studied landscape architecture at Purdue University, and her husband is T Bone Burnett.

Why are leftwing females so dumb and delusional?

You can get an abortion up until birth in many blue states.

Who's going to be honest about something when there is money to be made off the lie?

Proving once again that the stereotype is true: women will bitch about anything and everything.

"'In the US it’s got worse."

Worse than what? The whining of a privileged hack...

Redistributive change.

Wince કહ્યું...

Yes, with a high-risk musical in the works, the mercenary incentive to assert "it’s got worse" is strong in order to claim relevance.

“I know a lot of women trying to start families and they are afraid because if something goes wrong they can’t get help. It seems unconstitutional.” This is because pregnant women can’t drive or use public transportation to get to a state more welcoming to baby killers. /s One thing has changed since “Thelma and Louise”. Liberal women have gotten crazier and more destructive.

T Bone has quite the resume/career.

What deluded world does this woman live in?
Women are the majority in higher education. Women are favored in hiring for just about every job,.

"Every American institution-- from media, to universities, to Hollywood, to the corporate world-- has spent the last three decades working to purge young white men from entry level jobs.

"Now, they act like it's a big mystery why there are significantly less young men in the workforce."

The "Handmaid's Tale" was written about Islam.

It seems unconstitutional.

What constitution would that be?

Lazarus કહ્યું...

If you're at the bottom of the heap then -- male or female -- life ain't great, but for women who aren't, everything has changed since then. I'll trust Beyoncé rather than this woman - Girls rule the world.

"I wrote Thelma & Louise — nothing has changed for women since then“

Well, the whining certainly hasn’t let up.

BarrySanders20 કહ્યું...

She certainly knows the logical solution to a problem - full speed over the cliff. But stop the movie before gravity mansplains what happens next. Hear me roar!

EAB કહ્યું...

I remember being in the minority of disliking that movie. I do remember noticing Brad Pitt. I have never understood suicide as an empowering feminist message.

Rosalyn C. કહ્યું...

When I was substitute teaching in high schools I noticed that young women hadn't changed much since my youth despite all the feminist activists. I recall how shocked I was by the stereotypical behavior of boys being aggressive and girls being passive.
I also have noticed on current Youtube videos that when college students are invited to question guest speakers, almost entirely the guys are the ones who step up.

I wonder what the odds are that those two leftists reported the crime and cooperated with police, or if they just left the armed criminals free to continue to shove guns into other people's faces, kill, and likely end up killed young too, all to stroke their own egos.

IamDevo કહ્યું...

So now the code words are "young guys"? Whatever happened to "youths" or "teens"? So it's OK to stereotype the muggers as male and young but we daren't mention the color of their skin. Shouldn't we simply identify all criminals as "human beings" to be on the safe side or is that going too far?

Leora કહ્યું...

I'm glad someone else agrees with me about "Thelma and Louise" being a terrible movie with a stupid ending.

Iman કહ્યું...

Well… it’s Larry David. Sort of explains why Khouri was perceived as anti-men back then.

Ampersand કહ્યું...

What benefit is there in praising the current state of things? She simply provides the expedient response. The one that helps sell her stage play.

Tina, it was "two young guys", meaning, a couple of riggen scum. So, of course, this dumb twat, and the equally asinine Larry David, didn't report it to the police. Reporting a riggen to the police could end your career.

Big Mike કહ્યું...

Well we’ve had all this DEI crap, and despite that “nothing has changed.” So obviously we can get rid of DEI since it fixed nothing.
