"The Dane County Farmers’ Market will still take place Saturday morning on the Capitol Square, though organizers say the market 'will look different.'"

"'It is not a celebration of local food, but a space where everyone can find food grown in their community to sustain themselves and be together,' the market said in a social media post."

In case you're thinking of going down to the Farmers' Market.

That's from "'My family needs justice': Relatives of Corey Ruiz speak out for first time since police shooting/Family members spoke at press event with civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who previously represented George Floyd's family" (WPR).

The Farmers' Market is a huge weekly event for ordinary Madisonians who are going about living their normal lives. Free speech is, of course, part of the much-loved tradition.

Here's the Market's Instagram message:

Must be a republican op, to remind the nation about the Summer of Floyd, right before the midterms.

According to one. Res source, Ruiz stabbed the policeman in the face and hands. Knife wounds to the hands are resumes ly defensive but a sound to the face is not accidental — if true, it is an attempt at murder.

Justice has already been done.

I hate farmers' markets -- these jokers are just reselling veggies they bought at Walmart. Why add a middleman? Plus blueberries are okay in a muffin or pancake even but they kind of suck for everything else.

Breezy ayon kay ...

It’s like a reception after a memorial service, only you have to buy the food.

We're mourning with our community.

You're mourning a guy who stabbed a cop? Well, okay, then.

Personally I never go to farmers markets to celebrate local food so much as to find local food to consume. None of the vendors appear to be celebrating produce either.

The Haile Plantation is the best local one for the Mrs and me currently. Yes it’s on exactly the type of property you think. But it’s a great early Saturday walk!

When your institutions have been co-opted, ordinary citizens are shut out of those considerations, push-back or no. Look at the people trying to live in Seattle, and then take a look at Caracas. Because that's where these places are headed, if there's no course correction. As Remus said: Stay away from crowds.

The stage we're at right now is that people are course-correcting out of state to better, saner places, if they can. One of my neighboring families is from Washington state, they bought their home sight unseen.

Serious question: is it still legal in Wisconsin for white people to use the "N word" ?
i mean; i KNOW that free speach is BANNED here on the Professors site; and that ONLY APPROVED WORDS are allowed HERE..
but what about your state (and county (and city)) in general?

Ben Crump's operation reminds me of an old Gary Larson cartoon showing a door in a seedy office with a sign on it saying in large letters, "Duke's Detective Agency", and below it in tiny letters, "A subsidiary of Duke's Kidnapping Service".

I was not there. I did not see it. There's little reason to doubt the police account. but there were no body cams. Why not? Oh, the same leftists who insisted on body cams reversed 180° when that technology consistently justified police use of force in such situations.

Having lived in Dodgeville I know how badly infested with clueless leftists Madison has been for at least 30 years, and they always defend their petting zoo of dysfunctional creatures. It signals their empathy or something to their own crowd.

Out here in the real world, where we increasingly avoid inner cities and university towns, it's all rather straightforward -- don't attack LEOs doing their job. And if you're so pathologically stupid as to try to stab them, shoot, them, run over them with your car, and so on ... well Jeez! They might actually shoot you.

Ruiz was attempting burglary and theft. That's plenty enough probable cause for pursuit and arrest. He violently resisted arrest and was therefore a legitimate threat to the officers involved.

Had **I** been attacked in the same way, I would have had no obligation to retreat, and had he come at *me* with a knife, that's a lethal threat for which 3 rounds center-of-mass would be legally justified as legitimate self defense.

Our LEOs deserve no less, and we're better off with that guy being off the streets, rather than released on recognizance and later having all charges dismissed by some judge drowning in toxic empathy.

You have to understand that Madisonians are highly evolved. They think on an entirely different plane, being as highly credentialed as they are. They understand the nuances that allow them to welcome the new colonialists (good) and forgive their minor transgressions (burglary, rape, murder, as well as trifling hit-and-runs) while they adjust to and replace the culture (and voting habits) of the old colonialists (bad, us).

I'm beginning to catch on to their thinking, so I'm working on the wording of the "land acknowledgement" I'd like them to use when they take over my property. You should work on yours too. Particularly if you happen to live in NYC.

The healing power of "and:" you can both see the offender's death as a tragedy and hold the shooting justified.

It's a tragedy that a baby boy full of potential can reach the point where he lives off what he can swipe from unlocked cars, until he dies trying to stab police officers in a futile attempt to avoid one more trip to jail. And the copper, faced with this guy's violence, did nothing wrong shooting him.

And of course the copper did nothing over the past 20-some years that turned the baby boy into a knife-wielding car burglar. Give coppers a magic Despicable Me freeze ray that stops people in their tracks without lasting harm, and you'll still have knife-wielding car burglars. CC, JSM

Exactly. The traitorous democrat fucks realized they didn't have any bloody shirts to wave if the police had cameras so the democrats in charge of Madison told police to stop using them.

Democrats are evil people who hate this country. Everything about the democrat party and their voters is a bad faith morally deranged cesspool of thieves and fascists.

Dude, defensive wounds are indication of attempted murder too. Just as much as wounds to the face or other areas. What do you think the defense was for?

In this case I think they are less defensive and a result of trying to subdue Ruiz. But either way,

Not sure what constitutes "ordinary Madisonians?" But watch the videos, these are NOT the more affluent locals who have jobs, own homes, take their kids to soccer practice. These are the miscreants...the socialists, unemployed, permanent welfare, criminal class. Socialists. They exist because although "ordinary Madisonians" don't give a shit about them, nor does the lefty political class, they do care greatly to be perceived to care about them.

Nah, don’t take them to the station, take them out directly to the cops who need them. It’s hard work just standing around watching a riot happen.

The Farmers’ Market is lucky that it’s midsummer and most of the students are out of town. The army of SJW virtue signalers would be a lot larger in the fall…unless it’s a football Saturday.

The Ruiz incident brought to mind that when wildlife biologists need to subdue a potentially dangerous animal, they do it from a safe distance with a tranquilizer dart. Don’t know why I thought of that, it’s nothing like this situation, of course.
