Mohamed Al Fayed was the father of Dodi Fayed, who died alongside Princess Diana in the 1997 Paris car crash and owner of Harrods and the Ritz in Paris. Died in 2023. He was accused of raping over 400 women, the youngest being 13 years old. He used Harrods as his personal hunting ground, requiring gynecological exams of his female employees.
The gynecological exams required for employment were particularly chilling - results went directly to him, giving him leverage over employees before he even met them. “By requiring women to submit to an invasive exam just to get a job, he was essentially testing whether they would comply with humiliating demands from the start. It pre-selected for women who either desperately needed the job or were conditioned to defer to authority.
Creating complicity in the medical staff - The doctors who conducted these exams and reported results to him were themselves implicated, which expanded his network of enablers and made the whole system harder to expose.” Bizarre.
Harrods has since issued an apology and set up a compensation program.

Mohamed Al Fayed was acquainted with a LOT of the British aristocrats and royalty. And was friends with Jeffrey Epstein. Who met through their mutual acquaintance, the arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi. In case you're wondering why we'll never see the actual Epstein files.
Apparently the world's upper class and elite really are a collection of truly depraved people. Compared to them- Trump is a prude. In the same way Navy doctors placed me a non-drinker because I only had 2 or 3 glasses of wine a month- if that, and an occasional pina colada when dining out.

That woman was so traumatized she required six months of psychiatric hospitalization.
Career threats: Women were told they would “never work in London again” and those who complained were demoted, labeled “disloyal,” and pressured to resign immediately with warnings of “serious consequences” if they spoke to the media.
Legal threats (SLAPPs): Al Fayed used so-called Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation — essentially weaponizing expensive litigation to silence not just victims but also journalists. A Mail on Sunday investigation into him was killed in 2008 after his lawyers threatened the paper.
NDAs: Victims were forced to sign broad non-disclosure agreements. One woman alleges she was explicitly told the agreements prevented her from speaking even to law enforcement, and that the head of security had “boasted about the family’s ability to manipulate the Metropolitan Police.”
Surveillance: Victims reported being bugged and having their phones tapped, keeping them in a state of fear long after they left his employment”

Behind the counter of a bodega in Brooklyn, a cashier casually rang up a tiny vial of a peptide the store advertised as retatrutide — an experimental weight-loss drug from Eli Lilly whose sale is generally prohibited by federal law.
"PEPTIDES SOLD HERE" reads a large sign displayed on the storefront of Mr. Green, a small shop on a busy stretch of Bedford Avenue sandwiched between a poke restaurant and a funeral home. The poster promotes retatrutide for "weight management," though it also says in small type that the peptides on offer are "not for human consumption" — a disclaimer that doesn't appear to be hurting business.
An employee manning the counter on Tuesday afternoon initially wasn't sure if he had any retatrutide left.
"This sh** has been selling," the employee said, before locating a vial and selling it to a CBS News reporter for $95. No age verification, no medical questionnaire, no prescription needed.
Mitch McConnell was found unconscious at home but days later his staff refuses to ackknowledge that his consciousness has has returned. We alway knew that Mitch was not "wake."

The name of my production company at SCAD was Oysterman Productions. It's one of my e-mails, too.
I literally had no idea why I picked that name. People would ask me, and I wouldn't know.
One screenwriter, he laughed at me. And he said, "You picked oysterman because you like sex."
And I was like, "Oh shit, he's right!"
This is a true story. Happened to me years ago.
I was walking into a bagel shop, and I was whistling. Just in a good mood. I almost never whistle.
And this old lady, a homeless lady, was going into the bagel store in front of me. And she says to me, "Stop whistling at me, you rapist."
I didn't hear the second part of that sentence. Or my brain didn't believe it. And so I said, "I'm sorry. I didn't hear what you said?"
And she shouted in the bagel store, "I called you a rapist! And you're trying to rape me now!"
There were like 20 people in the bagel shop. It was a combination shop, with a bagel store on the left half, and a coffee store on the right half. And everybody stopped talking. And they're all staring at us. Nobody is saying anything. And I turn and look at these two black teenagers behind the bagel counter. They're both girls, one of them is fat and one is skinny. And I mouth to the fat one, "Oh my God."
And she laughs. So I walk over to the bagel counter. And she says, "What did you say to her?"

And the skinny one said, "She's crazy. She's in here all the time. Never orders anything."
And I bought a bagel. And I decided to buy a bagel for the homeless lady. "Don't tell her it's from me," I said.

At the time, I was writing my pro-life abortion book. And I had this fear, that I would be attacked. Somebody would call me a rapist, or say I hated women. I would never have sex again. So I was fighting all these internal demons.
So it was strange, to have this external manifestation of my deepest fear. But it turned out to be nothing.
…the running theory us Mitch can’t officially die until after the deadline on the 13th, the same deadline that’s forcing their hand on Platner. Mitch gies after the 13th he doesn’t meed to be replaced until the general. One less vote. Can’t risk voter ID becoming law…

We should have Independence Month every year like we have this year. It’s the only patriotic holiday and people really enjoyed the celebrations and events. Sharing the month with the World Cup fever really added to the sense of awe as we saw the world’s soccer fans geek out on the wonders of the USA.
Let’s do it again next year.

Modern digital cameras have high dynamic range (HDR) and other effects to generate this eye-popping look. It's an update to the old 1950s exaggerated Hollywood Technicolor films -- not what your eye sees but surely attention grabbing.

My guess is that they are composed of government agents as both managers/manipulators plus sincere-but-naive people trying to make a difference. They strike me as conceptually similar to the Promise Keepers holding disciplined mega-stadium events 25+ years ago. Neither group was or is a threat to anyone, even though the Patriot Front functions as a 'useful idiots' propaganda tool of left-wing media.

Extending Wendybar’s premise, seriously what has Patriot Front ever done other than march in an undisciplined and rambling manner holding incongruous objects such as tiki torches and Confederate flags along with American flags? What do they represent? Why are they marching?
I can’t recall any group marching ever before that didn’t have a message. In every case it usually distills down to “we are raising awareness of _______ issue” but no one has ever said what the Front group is doing. No statement has been reported. No rights have been identified as being at issue. They carry no signs, unless the “you can not replace us” signs from Charlottesville were theirs. It is mockworthy like them.
It’s so odd to have activities so widely reported but for no apparent reason.
I absolutely love the bottom edge of photo #1. I find myself staring into it.
And #3 is so gorgeous in its detail and color. Not to diminish it in any way, any way at all, but wouldn't that be gorgeous as a needlepoint pillow? I wish I had the skills to do that. I would if I had the talent or skills, which I don't.

There has been much discussion here in the past about Scott Adams and living in different movies. Reading liberal posts only verifies that is truly a thing. Biden was sharp. Up to the task. Ready and willing to go. With the ability to take on all comers, no matter their age. Right up to the disastrous debate when the media couldn't hide it anymore. And Kamala was anointed the nominee and savior of the DemoncRAT party. Except it didn't work out.
