Saw one three weeks ago here in Southern California. A hot fire in the Antelope Valley raised a giant pyrocumulonimbus visible from 40 miles away. I was way out at the western end of the San Fernando Valley when I first saw it.

i thought this would be simular to what they thought they experienced in the Civil War..
LOTS of smoke, and (maybe) percussion caused rain after EVERY battle
completely different. oh well.

I suspect that these fires in France, Spain, and Italy have been helped along by humans . . . and I don't mean climate change.

I saw a dramatic graphic awhile back. It was a side-by-side of two temperature maps of the British Isles on a summer's day; one recent and one from a few decades ago. The days were selected so that the actual temperatures on those days were similar, but the color scales depicting the 60s, 70s, and 80s were dramatically different. The old map was rendered in greens and yellows representing the temperature distribution, while the modern map was in scary shades of red for the exact same temperatures.
Menasha WI got clobbered today by a tornado. Lot's of storm damage throughout the Fox Valley. Appleton, Neenah, Oshkosh. The fly-in ended at the right time.

I have been reading Chinese history, which includes many dragon sightings. Never thought about what inspired the dragon myths before. Apparently, dramatic weather such as waterspouts, thunderstorms, tornadoes and hurricanes spawned the myths.
I then sought out dramatic, storm chaser footage and there they are - dragons! Once a person has convinced themselves dragons come from the sky, of course that's what they see. This phenomenon surely contributes to the dragon myths as well.
Every year, Islamists given shelter and full welfare in France riot and burn countless cars in Paris. In recent years, this mayhem has spread to other cities and to Cathedrals, not only in France but in Canada and even the U.S.
So I think what we're seeing here is an Islamopyrrocumulonimbus event. Still not as bad as the constant mass slaughters of Christians in Africa, called Islamogenocide.
