"I was in a bad position, and they preyed on me, bro. They were chasing the money."

Said Boosie BadAzz, quoted in "Boosie Lobbied for a Trump Pardon. It Never Came. He Wants a Refund. The Southern rapper paid $600,000 to two right-wing operatives. Now, they’re in a dispute over a contract the rapper believes entitles him to at least half his money back" (NYT).

Hucksters preying on someone in a bind. That's never happened before.

This "Boosie" guy has been in trouble with the law his whole darn life, it appears. Get's caught with an illegal gun: lock him up!

Looking at the dollars behind Biden’s autopen pardons would be a good time.

The corruption in Trump's pardons is appalling. While you are complaining about Somali daycares, Trump is pardoning people convicted of Medicare fraud and drug dealers.

A pardon from Trump costs about $2.5 million.

@fredor. Does the name Marc Rich ring a bell?

Even when Trump doesn’t do something, the brain addled blame Trump because a third party mentions Trump. This is the same narrative strategy behind Russian interference for Trump (drunk Russians told Steele and progressives believed it), and E Jean Carroll (she told her besties and they all testified she told them).

Reminds me of ex-ABA and NBA All Star Don Buse. He pronounced it Boosie.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression unlawful contracts weren't enforceable. The ultimate in caveat emptor transactions.

Gospace, if paying somebody to advocate for your release from jail was unlawful then lots of lawyers would be in prison.

"Still, he said he saw other things as more deserving of his time and attention: His music and his business interests. He has nine children, including some who have followed him into the entertainment industry. And there’s the 88-acre compound outside Atlanta he christened Boosie Estates, with mansions he built for himself and his family and a body of water stocked with catfish and bass, called Lake BadAzz."

The purchasers of papal indulgences had a few dissatisfied customers, too.

Don't bring a federal illegal possession of a gun case to a crooked lobbyist fight.

Trump was right to not pardon this lifelong felon. If he wanted to spend time with his kids, he should have stopped committing serious crimes.

So Trump is the only president where pardons are not for sale.

Hey, David Gregory got a pass for brandishing a high-capacity magazine on Meet the Press, from the NBC4 studios in NW DC where such mags were illegal. Sounds to me like disparate treatment based on race. Two men broadcasting free speech: black one gets locked up, white one doesn't. CC, JSM

John Mosby: look up his criminal record. Your comment is ignorant and infantile.

Democrats will believe Boosie but won't believe Platner rape accusers.
