"You’re f***ing crazy. You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your ass. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this."

Said Trump, on the phone to Netanyahu last night, according to The London Times reports.

All over social media yesterday...
Skeptical readers question the sparse sourcing. Be a skeptical reader, ann. Lots of globalist disinformation to make you think US politics is not captured. The journalists in the biz now are not trained, nor unbiased. You have to drop to your knees and blow Israel to get in the door. You know that.

Question question question everything you read or hear now...
Or just stick with the bottom of the barrel trivial news stories you specialize in dragging in? Surely there's a loose sperms story out there you could make your own? Uphold your brand before you fall off the trump truck with bibi in the drivers seat now?

Hard to give much weight to these quotes that sound exactly like Barak Ravid quoting himself instead of Trump. It's a close facsimilia of an actual Trump construction but there's no evidence he actually said those things, and Trump's Truth post about the call was a "just the facts, ma'am" shorty.

But the big tell this is fake news is the word "allegedly" in the subhead, meaning they have no call, no transcript, no confirmation. In short, no evidence, you know, that suffix they append the virtually everything Trump asserts is highly applicable to this #FakeNews from our ally UK.

Allegedly.

There is an old Victorian parable about the famous Tory, Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury, or more specifically about the character of The Times. It was during Salisbury's second occupation of Number 10 Downing Street as Prime Minister that the Fashoda Incident broke out, one of the tense international episodes that presaged the outbreak of the Great War. Naturally, the British press were keen to question the Government about the details, so journalists of every stripe and color began to flock at Lord Salisbury's door.

The valet on duty reported to his master, "My lord, there are about a dozen reporters outside demanding to see you. And two gentlemen from The Times."

The Times isn't what it used to be. There was a era when The Times set the standard of ideal journalism in both tone and content -- no panic, no undue passion, simply cool, detached understatement. If the word allegedly ever appeared in its pages it was always accompanied with a specific named person offering the allegation. Confidential, "unnamed sources" were regarded as cowards and backbiters who were unworthy of The Times and its readers. Sadly, that era and that England are gone.

They aren't a majority but the strength of nihilism is that complete failure, useless destruction and murder of the innocent is success to them. And the mainstream of the left is now backing the nihilists. Just look at the treatment of Platner versus that of Pratt.

This came from Axios, which means that the leak probably originated in Israel. You can say that Trump never said it, but you are living in fantasyland if you think it’s not true.

The blockade of Iran is hurting Iran, but not enough for it to surrender its sovereignty to Israel and the US, but our reserves of oil are getting low, as we keep gas prices low, which means that people are not conserving like they should. If Trump could open up the Strait militarily, he would have done so already.

I think that it is highly likely that he said it, but Netanyahu doesn’t care, he doesn’t care if the world economy goes into a tailspin that could last a decade, or that lack of fertilizer will cause famine.

Of course it is. Trump threw the banana. Now we get to watch the poo fling.

Trump has been using Netanyahu to do all of our dirty work. If I cared about what Israel wanted or liked I would be pissed at Trump. He has used and abused Israel during this whole event.

Not only forcing them to expend huge resources in the fighting but forcing them to take on the brunt of the political fallout.

The Abraham Accords would be a worthy prize for Israel and worth all of this but they are paying a steep price.

Even Netanyahu realized they need to wean Israel off our tit because Trump is asking for interest back.

Temujin ने कहा…

So much to-do. Any of you who have seen my comments over time know I'm Jewish and I'm also pro-Israel (not all American Jews are pro-Israel, in case you haven't noticed). I'm pro-Israel, not just because I'm Jewish, but because I've been there, met the people there (Muslims, Jews, & Christians), and have seen what they've created out of that desert. It is a great nation. And, importantly, I've seen how this world works and know, as a last refuge if nothing else, Jews need Israel. Don't get me wrong. I love America. My grandparents fled to America and they loved America. My dad fought for America. We were raised to love this country. But if it comes down to it, I know Israel will be there for me. I hope it never comes to that.

All that said, I can believe that Trump said something like this. Not just this time, but many times. This is not easy. It's war. It's economics. It's walking a tightrope with allies and potential allies and enemies. As for who leaked it? Well...half of Israel hates Netanyahu. The other half loves him. (Sound familiar?).
Either way, Netanyahu is a warrior. He was a warrior as a soldier, and continues to be a War Leader as PM. His focus is Israel's existence. Trump's focus is US economics, world economics, and the fall elections. One is looking only at survival. The other is looking at a larger global picture along with the coming election (which will make his life easier or harder).

They are going to argue. They are war partners, but with very different objectives. Survival vs economics. Staying alive vs a tough election. Both are right in pursuing their end goal. An argument does not discount the relationship between the two nations.
The war with Iran has to find an endpoint, one way or the other. And the existence of Hezbollah should not go on. If it does, this all repeats again in the near future. So, I get the argument on both sides.

Kai Akker ने कहा…

From the quotes I have read of Trump's own tweety comment, his statement and the gist of the allegation jibe pretty closely. He thinks it is good that Israel is not fighting on even terms with Hezbollah and he seems to think Hezbollah will also be good boys for him.

--- but our reserves of oil are getting low

I was surprised to learn that the Strategic Petroleum Reserve only had 415 million gallons in its caverns when our drawdowns began. Capacity is over 700 million. The plan of drawdown would leave its emergency reserve at 240 million barrels, only one-third of capacity. Then..... what, exactly? How many ways can we weaken ourselves -- and how much of this is to keep gasoline prices from rising even higher? I assume some is for direct military use or to replace supplies being consumed by direct military use. Trump will draw down the SPR reserves because higher gasoline prices would lose more of his dwindling popularity? Or the nation would get another push toward recession, and THAT would damage his popularity and the Republican election prospects?

Trump says the nation will endure higher gas prices for this cause, and he would be right IF he were clearly fighting a war with the bad guys. That is starting to feel a lot less clear to me -- all I can measure by.

Fighting the war to win it would be a better prescription for popularity and every other strategic aspect of this conflict, IMO. Btw, the reserves comment above, to which I have replied here, was from Jaq, imTay, Tim in Vermont, AuntyTrump. Giving credit where credit is due.

Insiders have long said his opinions reflect whoever spoke to him last. Why do you think he attacked Iran? Bibi got his ear.

Since Roy Cohn died, Trump has been searching for someone to tell him how to win. He has few, if any, original ideas of his own.

Now we reach the crux: Trump faces a real choice. He can let Israel dictate U.S. foreign policy by sabotaging any peace settlement in Lebanon, or he can watch his midterm hopes evaporate as American voters reject Republicans over endless wars and rising living costs.

If MAGA is truly about "America First," Israel may be in for a rude awakening. Even more critically, any viable peace deal would leave Netanyahu's government in a precarious position: the Iranian regime still in power and arguably stronger, with no end in sight to the war in Lebanon.

Tough times ahead for Bibi and his allies.

When your known strategy is to always withdraw from conflict like a rabbit, you become prey. It becomes very easy for your enemies to develop strategies to weaken you and take over your sphere of influence. The best defense is a strong offence.

Oh wait. I don't own any oil wells. Shucks!

Which thing will happen first: (1) Trump will build the wall or (2) the Strait of Hormuz will reopen?

Maybe Trump can just get Mexico to pay for the re-opening of the Strait? Real four-dimensional chess stuff.

Iran has been calling Trump's bluff from the jump. Trump keeps backpedaling.

What bluff?

Trump is just giving them a chance because he doesn’t like killing people.

The latest JOLTS report shows what is really going on.

Manufacturing job openings exploded. Insurance and finance jobs fell. The JOLTS report came in 9 sigma over “expectations.”

Flooding the us economy with foreign dollars and forcing China to pay the US dollars for oil means US manufacturing gets capital.

This is easily predictable. You aren’t as stupid as the jooooo haters and traitors. Come on now.

D.D. Driver- you act like you read my comments, but clearly you didn't understand them. Instead you inserted your own cockeyed idea of how Jews think into what you think I said. I'm not looking, nor are any American Jews looking to move to Israel. On the other hand, they are leaving England. They are leaving France. Any ideas why?

But here? Not yet. And as I said- hopefully never. However if we get to the point where there are more DD Drivers in the country than actual Christians, we may have to.
Your thinking and your mouth is the very reason an Israel is necessary. You guys never learn. You just can't help yourselves. You keep showing up, every generation.

And, no- don't play like you're the Great American. You're the shit side of America.

Just in case anyone wants to relax for 30 minutes and listen to some classic entertainment. Here's an Old Time Radio sci-fi drama in which a character references the anecdote Quaestor described about the "gentleman from the Times:

An excellent adaptation of a Katherine MacLean story about signals from deep space and an alien encounter with a surprise ending that even the aliens didn't see coming.

What is wrong with Achilles paying for the defense of his own shithole country (where nuns are being attacked and spit on in the streets by our Israeli "allies")? Why do you need to steal *my tax money* to fund your Jewish theocracy? Just start a go fund me or something and leave the rest of us out of it.

It’s da jooooossss!

You are a retard. It is pointless to discuss this with people who listen to axios or the London times and think they are learning something.

You are just here to fling poo and entertain me.

Oh, I dunno. Maybe the same reason the Palestinians left Palestine? Somebody else wants the land. Time to "move on".

DDD (12:25): “Oh really? People aren't called "antisemites" for criticizing Israel? Derp. Fuck off.” “Criticize” doesn’t mean what you think it means. And today’s conversation is about Trump who has Jewish in-laws and grandchildren. Try to keep up. (BTW, what does the second D stand for?)

I freely admit that Israel fucked up with Gaza. Netanyahu should commit ritual seppuku for how badly he handled that fiasco.

Also Hamas and anyone within 100 meters of a person in Hamas should be killed. Anyone putting on Hamas symbols and supporting those animals is a terrible person and should repent and renounce or be killed.

"Oh wait. I don't own any oil wells. Shucks!"

I do. You should have bought some early on, but more importantly, we all own 40 trillion in debt. I assume the US forcing people to buy a lot of our oil with dollars will help.

Lazarus ने कहा…

Whether it's literally true or not, it's plausible. Netanyahu offered President Trump a short, victorious war. Trump ought to have been smart enough to reject the offer, but he wasn't, so now he and Netanyahu could be on the outs. Forever wars don't hurt Netanyahu, but they can be disastrous for US presidents. Bush-Cheney involvements lead to Bush-Cheney poll numbers.

Again, I call for unconditional surrender as the only possible successful strategy to pursue in the Middle East. Not taqiyya, but total disarmament and war crime trials by the victors who decide the next decade under military government before turning the place over to re-educated civilian administration, with permanent basing rights to keep the place from backsliding.

Achilles ने कहा…

I love referring to this as a “forever war.”

There were a couple weeks of shit blowing up and the rest is Trump blocking the straight and bending China and Europe over a barrel.

Western media makes people dumb.

Lazarus ने कहा…

"Forever war" was a term that came up from the grassroots, something that reflected popular frustration with Bush's wars, not something that came from the media.

A nation of almost 100 million people doesn't collapse easily. The spontaneous uprising of the Iranian people isn't coming anytime soon either.

Netanyahu is focused on survival? His own political survival for sure.

Trump Names Housing Chief Bill Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence ~ WSJ

"The President says housing finance director has ‘deep experience managing the sensitive matters"

There was reporting in 2025 that Pulte pushed for politically motivated prosecutions against Fed Governor Lisa Cook and New York Attorney General Letitia James (almost certainly at the behest of Trump). So, it is safe to assume that Trump selected Pulte precisely because he has no personal ethics, love for the country or his Constitutional oath, and will do Trump's bidding.

However, I would assume his inexperience means he doesn't really know the bureaucracy and is unlikely to have a lot of allies within the bureaucracy. As is true with everything about the Trump 2.0 administration, the one saving grace is that the malice and corruption is counterbalanced by a very high level of self-defeating, gross incompetence.

Alphaville took this dude down last January.
