Somebody calling their bluetooth device "bomb"
is definitely an indication that it is a bomb that evaded airport security. Thank goodness a couple hundred people had their plans thrown off at the cost of tens of thousand of dollars.
That really showed good judgment from responsible adults.
I once walked through airport security with a couple guys who had a government security background. Merely SAYING "bomb" or "explosives" in a queue 15 minutes from the checkpoint would cause them to jump out of their skins.
Teenagers will be teenagers.
The bomb is complimentary rhetoric.
My son's bluetooth speaker shows up as [his name]'s WONDERBOOM 3. I mean, come on, it's likely just a brand name and the default bluetooth ID.
10 bucks says it was a teenage boy, and 20 says United tries to bill them, or at least tells them they'll have to make any future travel plans with *someone else*.
Irritating, yet hilarious.
You can talk to the survivors of Pan Am flight 103 about how funny it is to associate “bomb” with an airline flight. Oh, that’s right. There weren’t any.
(IIRC, there was an indication that one passenger reached the ground alive but died well before being found by searchers.)
Big Mike - one of my wife's best friends from college was on Pan Am 103. To this day my wife is very fearful of flying.
United always seems to be involved in these dumb stories.

They did exactly what they should have done. And note that the flight came out of Newark, which is currently the center of anti-American activity here in the US.
@Virgil, my sympathies to your wife.
In crowded public places I like to change my phone's wi-fi network name to things guaranteed to get brittle lefties wound up, like "Trump 2028" or "Islam is Right About Women".
I will take note of this happening and be sure not to use "Trump is Da Bomb" or anything similar.
It's funny that there are people on this thread who think a bluetooth device is more likely to be a bomb if it is named "bomb."

Please use the comments forum to respond to the post. Don't fight with each other. Be substantive... or interesting... or funny.
