Gospace said...: The most difficult sport to play, bar none is ice hockey. Followed closely by roller derby, with rules so obscure they rival cricket. No idea how anyone keeps track of the scores in either of the latter two, and cricket is much easier.

Baseball and it's kissing cousin softball are ridiculously easy to play. I'm old enough to remember pickup games on local fields, not organized stuff. Playing at a major league level is something else again. Even at a young age I had no dreams about becoming a star player.

Soccer is even easier. All you need is a ball, a place to play, and others to play with. No wonder it's popular worldwide. I played tennis as a teen against friends of equal skill. Requires more equipment. And IMHO, against opponents of equal skill, much more fun.; 6/11/26, 12:24 PM

I actually figured out cricket this last winter when we were down in New Zealand. Over 2 months watched three or 4 matches on TV.
