Great catch, by U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt.

Here's his Wikipedia page. I see he's 50 years old.

I've always been surprised Congress could find 9 people from each party willing and able to play baseball, in my judgment the most difficult sport to play.

The Republicans had Congressman Vinegar Bend Mizell, a former MLB pitcher, on their team in the late 60s. After his debut where he struck out every hitter, the Democrats refused to play if Mizell pitched. The Republicans agreed to stick him in the outfield.

And no murderous attack by a Bernie Bro. Everybody survived the game. Nobody maimed.

Nobody got shot.

DC almost looks like a modern American city now and not the trash heap democrats were turning it into.

Thank you Trump.

That was a great catch. I wish they had given the catch probability.

Good story Wilber. Vinegar Bend, aka Wilmer, was a Bucco in his MLB playing days.

I didn’t watch the game last night, but did any lady congresscritters play? Katie Porter? Mad Mazie? Jazzie “Speedy” Crockett?

He must’ve played before, high school, college.

He played football and baseball in college.

One sign of a great game of baseball is stains on the uniforms. Well done, Senator.

The only way a socialist can win a ball game is to start shooting.

Great play, and I'm sure he's feeling it today.

Worthy of the Top 10 on ESPN, but that place is such a cesspool of lunatic leftists I doubt they'll even consider it.

how many Republicans did the democrats shoot.. THIS TIME?

Hahaha. Your people are so funny! Even a positive event is somehow triggering.

It looked like a possible bloody nose. Those warning tracks can be brutal, but not as bad as going full sprint into the fence.

At 50, the catch isn't really the issue. It's how sore he's going to be for the week after the catch :)

Eric Schmitt in left field. Ha!

Left it all on the field

…snot, skin, car keys, any remains of self doubt. Fortunately he caught the ball so he hung in to his dignity…

Good concentration. Saved an inside the pahk home run.

11-2 sounds about right.

I see Howard's upset his fellow leftists didn't try to kill Republicans at this game. That was a good catch!

How long has it been since the Democrat drama club kids and water-boys won one of these games?

Oh FFS, the catcher is "framing" the blatant balls even in non-league charity games. Baseball is just repulsive nowadays.

The most difficult sport to play, bar none is ice hockey. Followed closely by roller derby, with rules so obscure they rival cricket. No idea how anyone keeps track of the scores in either of the latter two, and cricket is much easier.

Baseball and it's kissing cousin softball are ridiculously easy to play. I'm old enough to remember pickup games on local fields, not organized stuff. Playing at a major league level is something else again. Even at a young age I had no dreams about becoming a star player.

Soccer is even easier. All you need is a ball, a place to play, and others to play with. No wonder it's popular worldwide. I played tennis as a teen against friends of equal skill. Requires more equipment. And IMHO, against opponents of equal skill, much more fun.

I actually figured out cricket this last winter when we were down in New Zealand. Over 2 months watched three or 4 matches on TV.

Thing is, I've figured it out before, then forgot it while we're back home.

He pounced and seized, as republicans do.

Yeah. We tend to get that way when leftists go around shooting us. It's a real knee-slapper.

I'm in my 50s. It's possible that I would have made that catch, but it's very likely that I would have needed medical assistance to get up afterward. Nice job, senator!

It was bound to happen after the Democrats got rid of all their tobacco-chewing good ol' boys.
