That does look very nice.
It is very simple to say one kind word.
Even if they'd just emptied, cleaned, and refilled it for the anniversary, it would have been an improvement. This is considerably better and, we can hope, will mitigate the leaking issue too.
So far Lutnick has been impressive but for the love of God hold your phone level when you take a photo. Or at least correct it with the tools built into your phone.
Now if only those lazy birds would migrate rather than poop all along the edges and in the water...
As previously discussed, my life long Democrat wife melted down over Trumps use of blue rather than black paint for the Reflecting Pool. We were in DC at the time and flew back home the day they re-opened the pool. She never saw how wonderful it looks.
It looks nice to me but I assume every photo has been filtered to look nice.
It looks great. Hope it holds up as expected and the anti-algae system works. Time will tell.
The test of time over the summer months will tell us how sound the plan is. I guess the good news is that there's now an incentive to keep it looking great for at least all of 2026, with pride on the line. But I hope they've found a good long-term solution for its management.

As a class, you're right, but Tulsi Gabbard is from there and she's been surprisingly good. I still don't trust her on my #1 issue, which is protecting our firearms, so I couldn't vote for her as President. But she is a patriot who loves this country and wants to make it safe and prosperous, and that is more than can be said about most Democrats these days.

I lived in DC when they filmed Forrest Gump. Everyone knew the scene of Jenny wading in the reflecting pool was CGI since no one in their right mind would step in there with all the muck and goose shit. There was no way a Hollywood director would risk his star getting sick.
