"But when you said the mental is the problem in drugs — 'cause the people don't want to be down there."
"My daughter is schizophrenic and she's on crystal meth — so that hit home — so if you're going to do that, you got my vote.... 'cause Karen Bass is not doing shhhh. Absolutely nothing."

People are starting to figure out that Democrats are just thieves and they don’t actually care about anybody.
It took them to way too long figured out. We are all paying the price for letting everyone vote
In interviews Bass comes off clueless. She gets the cause and effect backwards, thinking that having to sleep on the streets turns people into zombies. Dude. They were already addicted. THAT is why they are "on the streets." That and the incentive program that, as one Pratt ad says, pays $26K every two weeks to people like Nithra Raman to "help" homeless guarantees that the "problem" will never be solved.
Newsom fiddled while Bass brayed a DEIst cacophony.
We think of the homeless as people abandoned by friends and family. Truth is there are mothers, brothers, friends back home who deeply care, are continually worried, and gripped with guilt that they are unable to help.
Spencer Pratt with a simple hug gained so many votes for being genuinely empathetic.
Pratt’s video on his plan to take care of the homeless problem is must watch. His compassion on the subject is off the charts.

Pratt's going to win, isn't he. (Well, OK, at least force Bass into a runoff...) I'm getting the same feeling about him now as I did about another behind-in-the-polls, "preposterous" candidate about this time in 2016, as he started to attract attention. That guy is currently occupying the Oval Office.
I’m not sure Pratt will win, but he will force Democrats into going nuclear on election fraud. The risk is that they get caught doing some very visible things. Like when the Milwaukee democrats slashed the tires on vans the Republicans were using to carry old Republicans to vote. It’s much easier to find trunk fulls of ballots when you have mail voting though, so I expect Pratt to loose.
"My daughter is schizophrenic and she's on crystal meth"
Truly terrifying.
CA - you need enough votes to cast out the corruptocrats and their cheat machine.
Readering and other newz media consuming leftists - are concerned about the human rights of drug traffickers and demand judge jury and execution for anyone who kills the drug smugglers.
Judgment and labels to mitigate progressive selfie abortive choices and collateral damage.
I watched an interesting video about Sparta yesterday. It was about how Sparta was unable to adapt to changing circumstances because their society was setup so that change was impossible. I have a feeling that the Democrats are in a similar situation. They are unable to adapt to the changing circumstances of the 21st century because any dissent is met with instant condemnation and cancelation and the reason for that is partly monetary, but a great deal of it is the structure of their organizations. Republicans were in a similar situation, but then Trump happened. He made dissent within the Republican party possible and effective.
For too long, politicians have focused on spending and not on results. "We spent billions on this homelessness. We need to spend billions more." They say these things because they don't care about results. Politicians use different metrics than we do to judge the success of a government program. Instead of evaluating the effectiveness of the program for solving a problem, they're more concerned with:
a. Money spent in their district.
b. Votes bought.
c. "Campaign contributions" (AKA bribes) garnered.
d. Cronies and family members enriched.
There's a deadly true poster sold on Despair.com that goes, "Consulting: If you're not part of the solution, there's good money to be made by prolonging the problem." The NGOs and others who receive money to fight homelessness have absolutely no incentive to do anything that actually tries to solve the problem. Just the opposite, they have every incentive to make the problem worse, such as by importing homeless people from other states and giving drug paraphernalia to support their addictions.
Pratt gives the impression he genuinely cares about LA. Bass seems to care about power and status.
It was only when New York City broke with tradition, and elected (at least nominal) Republicans as mayor, that the city first stabilized and then turned strongly upward. Sadly, that capital is quickly being dissipated.

She's a retard. LA has a problem with thieves stealing copper and effecting street lighting. Her proposal? Install 40,000 solar streetlights.
No weve been through this shes an evil communist revolutionary

Every one of Tom Clancy's novels, from "The Hunt for Red October on, has the word cacophony in it.
Michael wrote: Truth is there are mothers, brothers, friends back home who deeply care, are continually worried, and gripped with guilt that they are unable to help.
Well said. I was a minister for 26 years. On three occasions I conducted the funeral for someone who died and it had to do with drugs. (One overdosed after he relapsed.)
I talked at length with their families. They cared. They did what they could. But they could not save their child.
"Michael wrote: Truth is there are mothers, brothers, friends back home who deeply care, are continually worried, and gripped with guilt that they are unable to help."
You sure got that right. Not always guilt, but sadness that there is nothing you can do to help.
And in real world, here in California, help for the crazies is not readily available.
Pratt, like Trump, is a product of the failed political leadership that is epidemic throughout the US.
New York City has a tradition of occasionally electing a Republican when the Democrats make the city unlivable. Strong (who apppointed TR as police commisioner) LaGuardia, Lindsey, Guiliani - seems to occur every generation.
Bass!
What is she good for?
Absolutely Nuthin'!
Say it again!
Word Association
Karen Bass - Wild fire
Spencer Pratt - Wild card
Every one of Barack's books has the word "coprophagy" in it---and maybe "dickrophagy" too.
Methican Americans for Pratt!
Gone phishing with Bass in another redistributive change scheme in lieu of health and life.
A Learing epiphany in redistributive change schemes at the expense of health and quality of life.
One brother-in-law of three was living under a bridge in a tent for a while. Got himself kicked out of and banned from all the homeless shelters where he was because he couldn't follow the rules, as simple as they were. None of his 6 siblings would take him in. And I don't blame them. He was the same age as me when he kicked the bucket Managed to get to 53, I'm now 70.
He wasn't schizo, or manic-depressive, or any other psych label. He just liked being drunk or high and didn't care what anyone else thought of it. There are people like that,,, and there's nothing anyone can do to cure them.
Heinlein once, well, more then once, pointed out that for most of history it's never been a crime to kill a hobo of ne'er-do-well. Which doesn't mean you could organize hunting parties for them. No, killing them in front of others with no justification, no assault on you by him, well, that was a crime. But if a known drunk/hobo/ne'er-do-well/other of their ilk was found dead by the side of the road, well, there'd be a sheriff's report, and that would be that. No investigation as to how he got there. I have a news clipping attached to one of my distant relative found dead with knife wounds on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere a few hundred miles from siblings or children. No serious investigation. Ever. Nobody cared much he was dead. I have >36,000 people on the tree, and more news clipping then that. If I ever run across him again I'll try to remember- "Hey, I want to share this with the Althouse commentariat." No way to search for that directly.
What can we, or should we, do for people who don't want to be helped? Or- need to be helped? Or don't think they need to be helped? Like most hoarders... and yes, I might be dealing with that now... Anything you do for them will be doing something to them- THAT THEY THEMSELVES don't want. Institutionalization isn't a fun experience for the institutionalized nor their families.
Agreed! We can stabby stab our way out of the homeless problem.
"What can we, or should we, do for people who don't want to be helped? Or- need to be helped? Or don't think they need to be helped?"
If you ask the left, they'll say that money should be taken from taxpayers and given to administrators in order to manage the problem.
And "manage the problem" means "pay administrators a handsome salary to write reports and if there's any money left after that, buy some needles for the homeless addicts".
Meh. Karen Bass (or the commie) will easily win the election.
By the time that someone ends up on the street, most of them have been kicked out of both parents' homes, their siblings homes, AND their grandmother's basement. They then went through all their friends who would give them a spare room, a cot, or a spot on the sofa at night. All those people who cared eventually realized there was nothing they could do. The only person who can help is the homeless/druggie person themselves.
"The only person who can help is the homeless/druggie person themselves."
Taking this position could put a lot of Homeless Industrial Complex workers out of work, you know.
