"We can fix this with Republican votes, and we will. Every Democrat has opposed money for the Border Patrol and ICE at a time of great peril."

Said Senator Lindsey Graham, quoted in "Senate Adopts G.O.P. Budget, Defeating Democrats’ Affordability Proposals/Republicans pushed through a budget plan with a $70 billion increase for immigration enforcement after an overnight session in which they beat back Democratic proposals aimed at lowering costs" (NYT).

On the other side, there's Senator Chuck Schumer: "This is what Republicans are fighting for. To maintain two unchecked rogue agencies that are dreaded in all corners of this country instead of reducing your health care costs, your housing costs, your grocery costs, your gas costs."

And as long as we're talking about ICE, there's this: "Tom Homan Invites Pope Leo on ICE Ride-Along: 'They’re Talking About Something They Don’t Understand'" (Mediaite). "I’m speaking for myself, a lifelong Catholic. I wish they’d stay out of immigration. They don’t know what they’re talking about. Because if they wore my shoes for 40 years and talked to a nine-year-old girl that got raped multiple times, or stood in the back of a tractor trailer with 19 dead aliens at my feet, including a five-year-old boy that baked to death."

Demos-cracy is a viable choice with emigration reform.

Won't removing millions of illegals reduce the demand for housing, health care, grocery, and gas costs? To say nothing of reducing the demand for government, police, and the drop in crime?

I would say that evicting and deporting ten million illegals is Republicans doing something very significant to help reduce costs for everyone else.

But yes, it does hurt Democrat fraud, so it's no wonder Schumer is angry.

Whatever. When Lindsey Graham who supported Amnesty from 2003 onwards is your tough guy on immigration and DHS, I get suspicious. Maybe the Senate R's realized they're jeopordizing the re-election chances of the RINOs like Coryn.

Shouldn't "affordability proposals" be in scare quotes?

RCOCEAN II చెప్పారు...

The Senate Republicans are such Uniparty clowns. 53 votes plus the VP but they cant confirm trump's nominees or pass any legislation desired by the base.

Meanwhile the Senate D's under Biden could get all his extreme nonimees confirmed without a struggle and get lots of leftwing legislation passed. And the had 50 Democrats.

Stupid Republicans dont seem to understand that because Thune is demanding the D's be able to filibuster all Republican legislation, that means the R's need 60 votes. But they'll need more than that. Because they cant count on RINO's like Collins or Lisa Murkey or whoever. So we need to elect 63 Republican Senators. LOL.

Which is impossible.

The Catholic Church espouses gobbledygook. Run by a bunch of closeted gays who enjoy lavish lifestyles.

Yah, RoW just listens to what American leftie media tells them. Pope Chicago is just a leftie blue city Pope. A good response by Homan.

rehajm చెప్పారు...

I’m disgusted we can’t all just agree to openly discuss the uniparty’s plan to import the millions of illegals and fund them with US entitlement fraud until they’re counted as residents of blue places, all so the current crop of Marxist and Socialist Democrats can stay in power. Why do we pretend? Why do we owe these people so much?

"instead of reducing your health care costs, your housing costs, your grocery costs, your gas costs."

When have Democrats ever done that?

RCOCEAN II చెప్పారు...

Stalin once asked "How many Divisions has the pope?" and I think this sentiment applies to immigration. How many people care what the Pope or the Chruch says about illegal immigration? Not many.

The real players are Soros, the ADL, the Hebrew Immigration society and other leftwing NGOS, along with the Chamber of Commerce, the silicon Valley CEOs, and "Big AG" etc. that are pushing massive legal and illegal immigration and bribing congressmen.

Its an unholy alliance between big business and Leftists. One side wants cheap labor. The other side wants Democrat votes. Its why the WSJ and NYT are in lockstep on this issue.

If by that he means enjoys well over 50% popularity, then maybe?

Compared to Biden, Trump has lowered grocery and gas costs. He already cut prescription costs to the point that Mark Cuban is now dumping Kamala Harris. There is little Trump can do about housing costs as that is local, but interest rates are down. Schumer’s statement is a complete fail.

The current Pope is a Machine swamp creature that spawned from the organized crime capital of the USA, Chicago. No matter how holy and Catholic he may claim to be, he comes from a system which believes that the veneration of saints like Valentines is an opportunity to violently gun down your opponents.

The only thing that truly matters is passing the SAVE Act. Fail to do that and the Republican senate is a failure.

No. never. Democrats tax rape us - and stuff their own pockets and waste OUR money on fraud and grift to enrich and empower them. F the left. Lying liars. and F the Media too

How do you do that? Nuke the filibuster?
Won't the democrats just unpass it when next they're in power?

Lets see if (and when) the Dems can win if voters must present ID and show up at the polls. I suspect that, to win, they would have to moderate their positions enough to preclude the Dem/Socialists from having so much say, which would do wonders for cooling the brewing civil cold war.

Only by criminals. And all Federal agencies of any value and worth ARE dreaded by criminals.

Chuck Schumer (and Hakeem Jeffries) could easily be replaced by AI. Maybe they already have been. As for the GOP leaders, a simple manikin or stick figure would do.
