Trump's 9 posts of the last hour... including, at #7, "A GREAT AND BRILLIANT DAY FOR THE WORLD!"

From his account at Truth Social:

1. "The U.S.A. will get all Nuclear 'Dust,' created by our great B2 Bombers - No money will exchange hands in any way, shape, or form. This deal is in no way subject to Lebanon, either, but the USA will, separately, work with Lebanon, and deal with the Hezboolah situation in an appropriate manner. Israel will not be bombing Lebanon any longer. They are PROHIBITED from doing so by the U.S.A. Enough is enough!!! Thank you! President DJT"

2. "Now that the Hormuz Strait situation is over, I received a call from NATO asking if we would need some help. I TOLD THEM TO STAY AWAY, UNLESS THEY JUST WANT TO LOAD UP THEIR SHIPS WITH OIL. They were useless when needed, a Paper Tiger! President DJT"

3. "Thank you to Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar for your great bravery and help! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

4. "Iran, with the help of the U.S.A., has removed, or is removing, all sea mines! Thank you! President DJT"

5. "Again! This deal is not tied, in any way, to Lebanon, but we will, MAKE LEBANON GREAT AGAIN!"

6. "Thank you to Pakistan and its Great Prime Minister and Field Marshall, two fantastic people!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

7. "A GREAT AND BRILLIANT DAY FOR THE WORLD! DJT"

8. "Iran has agreed to never close the Strait of Hormuz again. It will no longer be used as a weapon against the World! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

9. "The Failing New York Times, FAKE NEWS CNN, and others, just don’t know what to do. They are desperately looking for a reason to criticize President Donald J. Trump on the Iran situation, but just can’t find it. Why don’t they just say, at the right time, JOB WELL DONE, MR. PRESIDENT, and start to gain back their credibility???"

The big winner here is not Trump but the USA.......We'll see how it goes, but people who put their money where their mouth is are affirming Trump's words......Saddam was able to reassert control of Iraq after his loss in the first war. Temujin చెప్పారు...

imTay, you should consider looking for work at as journalist for a major city news outfit. Your insights are right on par with them. It's not a compliment. Wait...are you a paid journalist?

I wrote a few days ago somewhere (don't think it was here) that people are missing what is taking place. And what is taking place could be nothing short of President Trump changing the world, while the media misses yet another huge story in front of them.

Venezuela is changed.
Iran is changing. Even if this move toward opening the straits and having some general points agreed to don't pan out, and even if Iran would unsurprisingly try something evil in the interim, they are a changed nation. They are far weaker and more vulnerable than at any point in the last 47 years. And their citizenry is looking to be rid of them.
If this works, it changes the entire world.
Lebanon/Israel speaking for the first time in 2 generations and discussing peace. Both want Hezbollah to be eviscerated. (imTay- look up Hezbollah and you'll understand Israel's attention toward South Lebanon).

Oil from Venezuela and Iran being directed by the US- with China as their main customer- makes it very interesting.

Also- Cuba. This is going to happen. Cuba will be changing as well.

Remember, the Sainted and Knighted One, Barack Obama, the Lightbringer, made a number of fine speeches. And then he sent pallet loads of cash to Iran based on their smile and telling him they'd be good.
And they did that to John Kerry as well.
And Antony Blinken and Joe Biden as well.
And, of course, Hillary Clinton.

All the noble experts were wrong. And that is why Iran thought Trump would be just another American blowhard. Because since Jimmy Carter, we've only shown them blowhards. It's one thing to act like you're tough. It's quite another to actually be tough.

Donald Trump has done for America what no President has done since Ronald Reagan. And he's not done.

In the meantime, our media will continue to work against us. And leftists will continue to wring their hands and whine.

Lazarus చెప్పారు...

All the "winning" is starting to become tiresome.

Mike (MJB Wolf) చెప్పారు...

Fools ignore history, Temujin. The biggest mistake Europe made was believing US media reporting on America and American politics. The NYT doesn't understand the very country they purport to inform.

JK Brown చెప్పారు...

Iran, as in the IRGC and Mullahs, showed their hand. They blockaded the Strait of Hormuz and charged a toll for any nation that wanted "freedom of navigation" in/out of the Persian Gulf. It was necessary for the IRGC to do this so all the feckless in the UK, EU, NATO, India and China could not deny their vulnerability to Iranian extortion.

And who could complain about an Iranian toll/blockade if they had a nuclear deterrent to threaten? So all the non-US complainers have faced their existential risk and failed.

Now I'm beginning to wonder if a greater plan, perhaps not overt, hasn't been forming. The Abraham Accords bringing Saudi/Israeli cooperation. The risk of the Persian Gulf being blocked off. Solution, a pipeline from Saudi Arabia through Jordan and Israel to move oil around the chokepoints of the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el Mandab to where it can supply Europe?

In any case, this has highlighted a problem for Europe, China and India. Yet US lives were put in harms way.

Jimmy చెప్పారు...

America is winning, and that makes the commies so mad.
So far, China and Iran have proven to be wimps. They have been conditioned to believe America is all talk and no action. Past Presidents have talked tough, and sent them money.
Trump has kicked their collective asses, and exposed the MSM as cheap shills for Islam.
Obama and his Iranian muslim friends are upset. LOL

Leland చెప్పారు...

Solution, a pipeline from Saudi Arabia through Jordan and Israel to move oil around the chokepoints of the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el Mandab to where it can supply Europe?

I can tell you for a fact that Azerbaijan, Iran, and Iraq have pipelines that go through Turkey and then flow to the Med. I make this point to note the solution has existed for a while and was part of the cause for war between Russia and Georgia. Russia invaded to claim just enough land to control a major valve on one of those pipelines. Europe and the US did nothing about it.

Leland చెప్పారు...

There's a larger Trump strategy. Trump faced the fact that US lacked the political will to prepare itself to fight a two-front war, which was China's strategy.

By neutralizing China's proxies in the Middle East and the Western Hemisphere, Trump has taken off the table major fronts in any potential global war. Rather than spread our defenses thin, the US can now focus on building Asia-Pacific alliances to counter China.

Over the last five years or so, Russia invaded Ukraine and revealed its military to be ineffective. China provided air defense technology to Venezuela, which proved to be ineffective. China also provided military technology to Iran, where it proved to be ineffective. Iran launched around 2000 ballistic missiles at various targets in the Middle East (plus two towards Diego Garcia), but killed only 24 people, mostly Israeli civilians, so again, largely ineffective. The UK's navy is so weak that it couldn't even send a ship, and the rest of NATO showed the lack of will - ineffective.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has had surprising success through creative drone use. Israel has as usual done well militarily. And the United States has shown itself to be head and shoulders above the rest of the world in almost every way militarily.

All of this should change the calculations and future plans of much of the world.

Harun చెప్పారు...

" Iran will have to obtain nukes or sign a defense pact with Russia/China to prevent the USA from launching another sneak attack"

Or just don't enrich to 60% and stop making ballistic missiles, and stop arming Houthis, Hamas, and Hezbollah.

Yes, the only substantiate points are:

IRAN GIVES UP ITS URANIUM. Gee, that seems like a big deal.

HORMUZ IS OPEN. Hormuz is already open - 30 ships passed yesterday. Iran deciding to jump in and claim its open is just words...they are still blockaded BTW. So that is Iran capitulating to reality.

Lebanon was great. In the 1950s - 1970s. Beirut was known as Paris of the east. It was glamorous, cosmopolitan, with a vibrant nightlife, French-inspired architecture and culture, luxury hotels, world-class restaurants, theaters, cafes, and a thriving arts scene. Hamra Street was compared to the Champs-Élysées, full of boutiques, cinemas, and intellectual life.
It’s an absolute tragedy what happened to Lebanon

Saint Croix చెప్పారు...

To say that we won is not to say that the people of Iran won. Perhaps things will continue to go bad for them.

Things are going bad for the people of Afghanistan right now. Islamic dictatorships can be very cruel places to live, hellish and mean-spirited. In other places, not so bad. Depends on the dictator.

It looks like we've decimated their military so much, the civilian government is now in control of Iran. That has to be a big improvement over the ayatollahs or the IRGC running the show.

Interpol still has a red notice on Ahmad Vahidi, the head of the IRGC, for murdering Jews in Argentina. Maybe Israel can find him.

RCOCEAN II చెప్పారు...

Yeah, Lebanon used to be great before israel started bombing and invading it. Right now they want to steal the southern part. Trump marches to whatever tune Miriam Addleson and AIPAC play.

Saint Croix చెప్పారు...

Iran was probably behind the bombing of our embassy in Lebanon. That never occurred to me until now.

A volatility reversal here would be harsh and would also leave the VIX far from its lows at the previous index highs.

RCO, I cannot tell you how weird it is that you think Iran was a force for peace in the Middle East. It is beyond strange that you think Israel is the bad guy in the region, and that we were at war with the wrong country.

You voted for Trump, right? Believe me when I say, he has a far better grasp of foreign relations than you do. In fact, every president in American history has a better grasp of foreign relations than you do. Every single one of them has supported Israel. Regardless of party.

Eva Marie చెప్పారు...

“deliberately target journalists and ambulances. And of course, civilians they don't like and want to assassinate. Gangsters.”
Propaganda.
The best way to tell whether this is true or not is this:
How do Israelis treat their own citizens. That’s an indicator of how they treat others.
Now the folks living in Gaza. How do they treat their own citizens?

I sincerely doubt Iran will give up its program of nuclear power (Not weapons). Its still working with Russia on that.

But why would Iran spend money on nuclear power plants when it sits on an ocean of oil? The mid-east has never been a hotbed of environmental activism. The importance of nuclear power was always just a sop to American Democrats — who desperately wanted to believe.

Interesting film about the Beirut civil war shot on location staring the guy who played Hitler in Downfall.

Volker Schlöndorff’s 1981 film, Circle of Deceit (Die Fälschung), is a renowned drama shot on location in war-torn Beirut, Lebanon, during the civil war. Starring Bruno Ganz and Hanna Schygulla, it focuses on a German journalist covering the conflict, blending fiction with the, then, real-world brutality of Beirut.

What we don’t know is why the international community would allow North Korea to sell nuclear weapons to Iran, but perhaps Botfly recognizes the international community has now proven themselves incapable of enforcing the treaty meant to prevent such sales. Fortunately, Trump has shown the US willingness and capability to stop such sales.

Leland చెప్పారు...

More likely Botfly didn’t know the Trump Administration helped negotiate a new treaty to prohibit the spread of nuclear weapons in 2017, that was accepted by the UN by a vote of 122 to 1. With such a treaty in place, and Trump just proving he’s willing to use force to stop Iran from violating it, why would negotiators need to talk about North Korea violating the treaty?

There are downsides to the President being resident I the same place as you are staying: S S checkpoints, metal detectors, dogs, increased police presence, longer hours, and lower tips for the staff, etc. There are some advantages too: reduced crime, a certain excitement, etc. Last night, late, we had a couple of working women try to get in. Wasn’t going to happen. Bad side? We are trying to fly today, about noon. Not a good time. Esp when that is when He is supposed to leave.

Truman used to write and not send hate mail to various people who upset him. Most notably a music critic who lambasted Margaret's recital. And of course he got the nickname "Give em Hell Harry" for swearing a blue streak to the press. Who never quoted him verbatim, but made it known. Different times.

If the press weren't so actively hostile to Republican presidents, Trump might not have resorted to Twitter as a way to get his own story out there. CC, JSM

What happened to the Christians?

Before 1970, Lebanon was a Christian-majority nation. The war fundamentally altered this demographic.Massive Displacement: Christians were often forced out of mixed areas. For example, in West Beirut, the Christian population dropped from 35% in 1975 to roughly 5% today.

Internal Conflicts: Some of the bloodiest fighting occurred between rival Christian militias (e.g., the "War of Elimination" in 1990) as they fought for dominance over the "Christian enclave."Emigration: Fearing both the violence and the rise of militant Islamism, hundreds of thousands of Christians fled to Europe (particularly France), the US, Canada, and Australia.

Political Shift: The Taif Agreement (1989), which ended the war, stripped the Christian President of much of his power, redistributing it toward the Sunni Prime Minister and Shi'a Speaker of the House to reflect the new demographic reality.

What happened to the Jews?
Lebanon once had a thriving Jewish community (roughly 20,000 in 1948), centered mostly in the Wadi Abu Jamil quarter of Beirut.

Initial Tolerance: Unlike many other Arab nations, Lebanon was relatively tolerant of its Jewish population in the early 20th century.

The War's Impact: During the civil war, the Jewish Quarter was located near the "Green Line" (the front line separating East and West Beirut). It became a wasteland of snipers and shelling.

Pogroms and Kidnappings: In the mid-1980s, the situation turned deadly. Groups like Hezbollah kidnapped several prominent Jewish leaders; many were later found murdered.

The Final Exodus: By the end of the war, almost the entire community had fled. Today, only a handful of Jewish citizens remain in Lebanon (mostly elderly women).

Legacy: The Maghen Abraham Synagogue in Beirut was recently restored as a heritage site, but it remains largely empty—a beautiful shell representing a community that has effectively vanished from the country.

Another way: is the same standard being applied to both sides?

Another way: what measures does each side take to avoid civilian casualties, and how do we know - can independent journalists observe those measures?

Another way: do journalists reporting on a situation have long histories of, say, participating in early childhood education that involves encouraging little kids to kill people because of their religion, ethnicity, or national origin? Is the ink dry on their journalistic credentials?

Another way: do journalists reporting on a situation make their livelihood from NGOs affiliated with the UN, with "journalism" being a essentially a volunteer gig because, magically, they find themselves in a place where their affiliations are useful?

Iran says Strait of Hormuz is 'open' but tracking shows few ships moving, as Trump says US blockade will continue ~ BBC

"Iran’s parliament speaker says that the Strait of Hormuz will not remain open until the US blockade is lifted, ships that want to pass through must still get IRGC permission."

>Iran would still insist merchant vessels require permission from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps before transiting the strait.

>Trump said the US naval blockade he ordered this week to prevent ships entering or leaving Iranian ports would also remain in place

So what is it? Is the strait open or not? Will there be a fee?

Iran Tells Mediators Re-Opening of Hormuz Is Still Limited ~ WSJ
"Iran has told mediators that it will continue limiting the number of ships allowed to cross the Strait of Hormuz and charge tolls for the remaining period of the ceasefire. This comes despite Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi posting on X that the strait is "open." Iranian officials, including conservative lawmaker Mahmoud Nabavian and parliament member Ali Khezrian, have publicly confirmed that only some commercial ships will pass if they pay tolls, with the IRGC retaining the ability to block vessels from "hostile" countries."

The best part is we don't even need to lift the blockade. The United States ahs all of the time in the world.

The United States is raking in cash, most of it from China who is forced to buy oil from us now. Europe was already dependent on us after blowing up Nordstream2.

In a month with the blockade US oil production and export will continue to climb and the US economy will flood with dollars from China.

And China will fall. Their economy cannot withstand 80$ a barrel oil. It can only sustain on bargain oil from Russia/Iran/Venezuela.

I love watching the globalist shitweasels lose their shit. Thank god we finally got a president that wasn't a fucking traitor or pussy.

We can pay for the carrier groups with the money China is paying us to buy our oil.

Besides we have a nuclear powered navy. We aren't stuck with a diesel navy like china who can only run their navy if we sell them oil.

A cynical person might think that Trump has enough on-the-ground intelligence to understand that internal communications between the IRGC, the mullahs, and the Parliament are fractured because of the staff reductions across the board.

Now under-briefed former underlings are doing the leading, looking over their shoulders and diving under the desk every time they hear something flying overhead.

So maybe when Trump makes announcements like this one, it results in a series of 'WTF ???' moments across the leadership, resulting in assertions of authority and angry challenges to same, over who exactly is doing the negotiating, here. Let them duke it out to settle 'Who's in Charge?'. Divide and conquer.

Meanwhile I see 3 more Basij leaders met their demise in the street. They look younger than the ones announced before.

1: Of our 11 groups only 3 to 5 are deployed globally due to maintaince and resupply. Hormuz is not the only place they are needed. South China Sea and Gulf of America region come to mind.
2: I've brought this up before, but the reason our adversaries are willing to wait us out is the huge difference in our foreign policy depending on the party in power. Trump has China by the balls for now, but put a Dem in the Presidency and the shift will be 180. Also the reason France etal are willing to tell us to shove it imo.

Iran’s Military Says Strait Is Closed Again, Prompting Ships to Turn Back ~ WSJ

We all know Trump is a serial liar and just makes stuff up, but this level of blatant lying is next level.

The worst possible tactic when negotiating with a regime like Iran is to publicly humiliate or 'dunk' on them during the talks. Any experienced diplomat knows this. Yet we have Mr. 'Art of the Deal' himself, who apparently needs to keep feeding his base and the markets a steady stream of BS.

Let’s just call them Stock Market Negotiations at this point.
