Trump has determined that Iran "has gone through what will be a very productive Regime Change."

Trump, at Truth Social, about an hour ago:
The United States will work closely with Iran, which we have determined has gone through what will be a very productive Regime Change! There will be no enrichment of Uranium, and the United States will, working with Iran, dig up and remove all of the deeply buried (B-2 Bombers) Nuclear “Dust.” It is now, and has been, under very exacting Satellite Surveillance (Space Force!). Nothing has been touched from the date of attack. We are, and will be, talking Tariff and Sanctions relief with Iran. Many of the 15 points have already been been agreed to. Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

So the regime change has already happened —  or the declaration that it has happened has been made — past tense. But there's a switch to the future tense, declaring something to be true in the future: great productiveness. I presume Trump's adversaries will call this wishful thinking... at best. But who knows? They'll embrace good results if they become obvious or if they perceive that the people are repelled by their pessimism.

Trump also posted this a few minutes ago:

A Country supplying Military Weapons to Iran will be immediately tariffed, on any and all goods sold to the United States of America, 50%, effective immediately. There will be no exclusions or exemptions! President DJT

Trump would like to get back to managing everyone with the device of tariffs.

This war was a cover for Israel to attack and land grab on Lebanon. Israel is killing civilians and committing war crimes as you type...

If this blog were a porno, it would be shot from trump's point of view, looking down as ann and meade both attempt to suck trump's cock, competing as to who can take more of him deeper in their throat and bring him to ejaculating in their faces... messy and snobbery.

You must be getting a lot of tips of late from the old jew Mike's who support Israel and post here. Begley too... if we need someone to gum trump's balls as you two pass his snobbery cock between you.

Destruction of the uranium program and the removal of all the nuclear material from Iran is huge. Very happy.

I hope the Iranian people uprise and get free elections. But the big thing was to make Iran a nuclear-free zone. That's pennies on the dollar.

NYT story by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan purporting to be the inside story about how we went to war. During my reading of it, I was so impressed by the Cabinet. NYT reader, however, wrote, “ We've seen better cabinets at IKEA.”

Story clearly lays out the justification: Better to do it now rather than wait especially with the opportunity to take out the Supreme Leader and other top people.

This may be what Trump believes or more likely what he wants to believe. I'd put my money on Islam (Sunni or Shia, it doesn't matter) and its 1400 year history of consistency.

Ah, so China and Russia have been warned. Yesterday the unconfirmed news was that China's lack of oil (and internal disruptions) led them to pressure Iran to make the deal last night to open the Strait. The faux defiance shown in some regime statements tends to support that theory, of them acting against their own self-interest.

Mike (MJB Wolf) said...

In support of Begley I'll point out that we did in fact negotiate with NK right up until the point the displayed finished nukes and shot off "test" rockets to prove their reach. THAT outcome is the other (rejected) path and why we hit Iran NOW, before it is too late.

The big victory here is the stripping of the bark off some of our NATO members. We should immediately remove all our presence, including economic, from Spain, France and Italy. The economic impact on their local communities will be enormous. Move the remaining bases to Poland, Romania, etc. and let the remnant NATO deal with the Ukraine. It will save us billions.

After all they'd been through in previous weeks, that Bunny on the balcony was just too much.

It was hilarious watching the democrat traitors pretend shutting down the straight of Hormuz would hurt the US compared to other countries.

Anyone who was actually watching the news knew that China was melting down and its economy was collapsing. People and tanks are in the streets right now.

Trump is just smarter than the retards who have been bitching and moaning over the last several days.

Your globalist masters have been knelt. Trump just made a change on the global stage that is just as historically significant as the WWII conclusion and the fall of the Soviet Union.

He did it in about a year and with millions fewer casualties. The fact it was done so bloodlessly will make it so people do not understand the significance of what just happened.

You little democrat retards and jew haters can't even comprehend what is happening right now.

I think that once somebody acquires a passport from any other country, they should lose their US citizenship. and if they accept a US passport, they should be required to abandon their former citizenship. But if you are suggesting that in a democracy where free speech and freedom of religion is one of our founders' primary gifts to succeeding generations, well, sorry, I stand with George Washington on that one. Foreign entanglements should be avoided and we should rely on our position between the oceans for our security, as he said in his farewell address.

China was not on the verge of collapse. They only need to import about 15% of their total energy needs. The world economy was not about to collapse either, but nobody wants to pay 40% more for a barrel of oil. And 100% more for a gallon of diesel fuel.

I think this is more about a Pakistan flex. The heavy losses suffered by the Iranian military has greatly weakened their ability to project power in the region and to defend itself. Pakistan sharing a 500 mile border with Iran is now in a much more powerful position Visa vee Iran. In addition, Pakistan stands to gain further economic benefits from a stronger relationship with the United States.

Of course all of Mark Levin's audience were no doubt telling us in 2000-2010 that Iraq was the mostest important thing in the whole wide world, and everyone who opposed the Iraq war was a "Traitor". And now in 2026, they cant even remember it.

Mike (MJB Wolf) said...

Of course they rely on coal for electricity but oil and natural gas are the lifeblood of manufacturing, needed for plastics and polymers and lubricants etc. Perhaps you did not notice manufacturing shrinking YoY there. This is related to the drop in price of gold and bitcoin as China liquidates reserves for US dollars to use for trade.

Dave Begley said...

Trump is a very stable genius!

"A 50 percent tariff on Russian goods costs America nothing. North Korea’s trade with the US is zero. The only country where a 50 percent blanket tariff on all goods sold to the United States inflicts catastrophic economic damage is China, which trades over $500 billion annually with the US and has been proven to be shipping military-grade chemicals to Iran during this war.

Five Iranian-flagged vessels departed Gaolan Port in Zhuhai, China between late February and early April carrying sodium perchlorate, the critical oxidiser precursor for solid rocket propellant used in every Iranian ballistic missile. The ships are the Hamouna, Barzin, Shabdis, Rayen, and Zardis. The cargo is sufficient to reconstitute hundreds of ballistic missiles. The same missiles that hit Israel, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar after the ceasefire was signed. The gCaptain shipping report, the Telegraph investigation, and the Institute for the Study of War all confirmed the shipments. Trump’s intelligence briefings contain the same data.

The tariff post is not about Iran. It is about Beijing.

This is the card Bessent carries to the mid-May summit. The architecture is now visible. At Islamabad on Friday, Vance and Witkoff negotiate the Iran ceasefire terms: nuclear dismantlement, proxy cutoff, sanctions relief. On April 19, the Treasury waiver on 140 million barrels of Chinese-bound Iranian crude expires. If Trump lets it lapse, every Iranian barrel afloat becomes sanctioned cargo and Chinese teapot refineries face secondary sanctions. Now, on top of the waiver, comes the 50 percent tariff threat on military supplies. China is squeezed from three directions simultaneously: its ghost fleet faces the waiver, its arms pipeline faces the tariff, and its rare earth monopoly faces the Bessent negotiation."

One more out-of-character thing...last night's election results were wild, unbelievably bad for Republicans. And the war probably played a big roll. I don't see how the GOP can look at it and not be concerned. A lot of reasons for Trump to end or pretend to end or whatever things in Iran.

The other specials and such since 2024 have been good but not "wow" (similar to 2017/18) and the generic ballot is pretty meh (consistent with winning back the House but lagging behind 2018). But last night the swings were huge.

I was one of those people in 2016 who thought (both during most of the primary and the general) "Trump can never win." It's a mistake to be one of those people who now says "the country will never turn on Trump politically." No reason to think we couldn't see historic GOP losses in '26 and '28.
