Sunrise hubbub.

Video by Meade, this morning, on Lake Mendota.

It's a hubbub, to my ear, but I noticed that if I left the subtitles on, the computer was able to discern words that were chaotic noise to me, no more articulate than the nonsense of the geese.

Bonus: "Your looks intoxicate me/Even though your folks hate me...":

Is that the Iranian navy out there, ready to invade Mad Town?

That's a Viking Navy of 6'4" men training to dominate our world. I would venture to guess that they are not afraid of dogs and the sound of ululations launches them into a violent rage.

Are the rowers yodeling? Would be really cool if they had a Jody.

Great video of the rowers.

Backstage crowd noise in theater productions used to be created by the offstage people all saying "watermelon watermelon..."

The White House Medical Unit during the Trump administration distributed controlled substances with scant oversight and sloppy record keeping, including thousands of doses of the stimulant modafinil, which was routinely given to staffers who needed an energy boost after a late night or to handle the stress of their jobs.

The unit also distributed the anti-anxiety medication Xanax, which was popular among senior officials and was sometimes shared among colleagues. The distribution of prescription medications was often done without a specific need or diagnosis, with orders for pills written down incorrectly or not at all.

The medical unit's procedures were so sloppy and lax that it was impossible to prove that sedatives and dissociatives like fentanyl and ketamine weren't given to White House staff. The unit's drug distribution during the Trump years was not properly accounted for, with frequent errors in medication counts and illegible or crossed-out text in records.

Somebody remind me of the last time Rolling Stone was right about anything.

YouTube is pointing me to many Pakistani mechanics repairing impossible truck failures in the field, broken axles etc. A genre that YouTube discovers if you watch even one.

One thing you notice when you visit afghanistan is that there are a lot of awesome very functional toyota vehicles that you could buy for a few thousand dollars brand new.

But you cannot import them into the US.

Hmm.

I did not hear any nonsense from the geese.

Gadfly, on the other hand...

If the geese around here (MD Eastern Shore) were as quiet as those geese I would be quite happy. Our geese make a hell of a racket.
