For awhile this afternoon I feared that an antisemetic attack in Oakland county Michigan might have struck two preschoolers in my family. It’s a terrible feeling. I look forward to the first person account from the security guard who stopped the attack. And from my niece whose two kids were in the synagogue.

What started as a peaceful protest at Old Dominion University turned violent when an ROTC cadet stabbed the protester rendering him dead. Virginia Governor Spamburgler has filed a complaint with the Human Rights Commission. Mayor Zorro (D-Islam) chimed in, lamenting the deceased was not given due process.

It was reported the protester was released from prison early having been completely rehabilitated from his ISIS proclivities.

BBC: New US ambassador to South Africa summoned over 'undiplomatic remarks'

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c14m1vzmxz3o

"The South African government has summoned the new US ambassador after he made what they called "undiplomatic" comments about an anti-apartheid chant.

Leo Brent Bozell III, who started in the role last month, caused offence by disagreeing with a legal ruling about the chant Kill The Boer. Some say the chant amounts to hate speech, although the Constitutional Court has ruled previously that it does not."

L. Brent Bozell III! Yes, the son of WFB's bud. Look at his picture - he looks like a Boer himself. I am giggling like a schoolgirl.

Hey, if the Left can do flagrant LGBTQ&c stuff in conservative countries when they get to appoint ambassadors, we can poke the wogs when we have that power. Especially when the fuzzies are killing our longtime allies. CC, JSM

I hope the ODU cadet victims get Purple Hearts and the cadets who took out the shooter get at least Soldier's Medals if not Bronze or even Silver Stars. Rushing a guy with an assault rifle when all you have is a knife is combat valor. Dude either did some recon and figured out where the ROTC classes were, or he couldn't believe his lucky day when he saw a room full of unarmed people in US uniforms.

If they're contracted cadets, they're reservists with red ID cards, so you would think they're eligible for medals. CC, JSM

He was a retired LTC. I guess the Army is using retired officers to teach ROTC these days. I wonder what his legal status is. I'm sure Hegseth will find a way to give him a posthumous PH if not also a valor award for dying to protect his cadets. CC, JSM

That was part of the conversation on The Five today. Today I had my first tooth extraction. A lower molar somehow got infected and was too far gone for a root canal. Hurt coming out...the infection contributing to blocking numbing. At one point he said we either power through it or...I stopped him and said do it. New dentist, my last one retired, did a great job getting it out without breaking the tooth, or cutting into the bone. Some twists and gentle rocking and it came out. There were a few toe curling moments.

Concern now is "dry socket" which can be a painful big deal, but the pain has come down from a 10 after extraction to about a 1-2 with some Advil and icing. It allowed me to take a nap...it's amazing how tiring pain can be.

From CNN: To be clear, Russia told Trump, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner — all of whom have a history of being easy marks for Russia — they weren’t helping Iran, which Witkoff, AKA “Dim Philby,” [as in Kim Philby, the British double agent spy] described this way.

Russian leaders in a call with President Donald Trump on Monday denied allegations that they are sharing intelligence with Iran during the war, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said.

“So, you know, we can take them at their word,” Witkoff told CNBC’s “Money Movers” during an interview on Tuesday. “Let’s hope that they’re not sharing.”

“Well, I’m not an intel officer, so I can’t tell you,” Witkoff replied.

“I can tell you that yesterday, on the call with the president, the Russians said they have not been sharing,” Witkoff said. “That’s what they said.”

Witkoff also said he and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, had separately had a phone call on Monday morning with Yuri Ushakov, Putin’s foreign policy advisor.

Ushakov, in that call, “reiterated the same,” that Russia is not sharing intelligence with Iran, Witkoff said.

Wednesday, as service members continue to risk their lives in Trump’s illegal war, Witkoff and Kirill Dmitriev met in Miami to discuss business deals.

Thus far, Trump’s illegal war has led to an increase in Iranian oil shipping:

Iran is exporting more oil through the Strait of Hormuz than before the war,

As Gulf Arab oil producers from Saudi Arabia to Iraq cut production and scramble for new routes that bypass the strait, Iran is conducting business as usual, according to data from tanker-tracking firm Kpler, throwing a financial lifeline to Tehran as it comes under blistering attack from the U.S. and Israel.

Since the war started on Feb. 28, seven tankers have loaded oil off the Iranian coast, according to Kpler. At least two of the most recent loadings are out of the Persian Gulf, Kpler said. Over the past six days, tankers have loaded a daily average of 2.1 million barrels of Iranian oil, higher than the 2 million barrels a day Iran exported in February, according to Kpler.

Iran’s export levels can vary week to week, but the recent increase shows that, unlike other producers, its shipments are unimpeded and that China hasn’t lost its appetite for Tehran’s crude.

Two container ships from China containing ammonium perchlorate and dioctyl sebacate, which are used in the solid propellants that power ballistic missiles, are expected to arrive at Iran’s Chabahar port shortly.

The leftie propaganda will never understand and never catch up…

But [Heigl] became radioactive, because she was apparently so hard to work with.

“Hard to work with” can mean that she is a pain in the ass to the production team, the director, and other actors on the set, but it can also be used to mean “won’t put out to get a part.” Anybody have evidence for the one meaning contrasted to the other?

Yesterday I heard a former Israeli defense minister (opposition to Bibi) say, when given the opportunity to critique, that 'in times like this, we set our differences aside to support the PM' or something to that effect, much to the disappointment of the journalist.

But CNN misses no opportunity to say twice, in Gadfly's account, 'Trump's illegal war'. They forgot to add 'says CNN, without evidence'. But I do find it instructive, as others have pointed out. The TDS invective has a position at the front of the line and enjoys priority handling at all times. My wife is still watching Fox, and I find the TDS of some of them equally off-putting, by the way, the constant propagandist bombast with the lack of meaningful content. Just report the freakin' news, dammit.

Iran’s leadership has focused on an escalation strategy that degrades US and Israeli economic and technological strengths and diverts their resources to defending critical infrastructure.

When Trump leaves, books will be written about intelligence and military warnings of precisely this kind of reaction and how they were suppressed.

Keith, the thing about botfly is he is like the guy arrested for throwing the IED in front of Gracie Mansion. He lobs in an ineffective bomb, yells something intelligible but nonsensical, and then runs away. Botfly has no interest in engaging in honest debate, because he can't do it.

Two weeks ago, Botfly was demanding to know where in the US Constitution it says that the US government should represent US citizens first. It is just the very first sentence in the US Constitution, but that wasn't botfly's objective. He wanted to lob in something ineffectual and run away.

If Botfly was serious, then he might point out, as at least one expert has noted, that the US could interdict Iranian civilian shipping, as the US did with Venezuela shipping. But this is the same Botfly that lobbed in the notion that an Iranian warship was not a legitimate military target unless we confirmed it was armed and ready to fight back before engaging.

Of course you understand exactly what is going on. Your Dems cut out funding for the DHS in the recent Continuing Resolution passed by Congress. Everything else passed (except for DHS spending). That’s why everything else is the government is funded and operating, from National Parks, through Medicaid, Medicare, and the military.

It is the height of hypocrisy to try to put this on Trump. He was the one pushing the hardest for passage of the original CR to fund the entire government. If you want to know who is responsible, look no further than the Senate Dems, led by Chuckie Scheamer. They voted, almost in lockstep, to filibuster the CR without the DHS carve out.

What’s funny here is that the Dems’ DHS shutdown was aimed at shutting down ICE, because their radicals were being arrested (and killed) for interfering with ICE operations that were detaining, and ultimately deporting, the worst criminal illegal aliens. Except that ICE had been earlier, in other legislation, funded for the fiscal year. Essentially, they aimed at defunding ICE, and instead defunded the Coast Guard, TSA, etc.
