Personnel, not Trump’s strong suit. And unlike most of his explanations, this one is not at all persuasive. Do not hire security personnel who hate you. Not knowing isn’t a good excuse.
Trump's not a bad guy. He's not vengeful. He doesn't want to destroy people he disagrees with (like Biden or the Clintons). But he has terrible judgement and he's gotten us into a completely unneccessary war and he needs to get us out ASAP.
Joe Kent is a hero. He resigned because he realized this is Epstein's war, not america's war. He could've done the DC thing, and gone along, and got cheered on by Israel and their agents in the USA, but he took a stand. For America.
Kent still loves Trump, just disagrees with the Iran war he believes Israel started. Up until this parting, Kent's opinions matched Achilles 99.5%. Now he's scum in the eyes of the personality cult.
Well he goes around the barn and finally comes to the point (or culprit) Joe Kent. Not the only personnel mistake that Trump--or any President--will make. You've got a lot of positions that need filling. Here he threw a dog a bone--and guess what--the dog bit him.
I don't really understand how Trump gets his information for making decisions. He constantly surrounds himself with RINOs and moderates and people like his Son-in-law or Lutnik. Now, he's listening to Miss Lindsey and Mark Levin two of the most clownish insane people in politics.
I guess if he wants to lose his base, and go down as Israel's greatest hero, he's part way there. Be a life-long Trump supporter and he'll stab you in the back. Oppose him, and he'll call you his friend. Weird.
It’s easy to criticize but with each new administration the number of assignments is measured in thousands with the higher level jobs subject to extreme political scrutiny, each candidate subject to rejection by a countless number of politicos, attorneys, pr people. Yet, the jobs need to be filled. Sometimes someone gets through the process that shouldn’t have. Possessing the temptation to discredit your old boss to move up the ladder is sometimes undetectable…
"He could've done the DC thing, and gone along, and got cheered on by Israel and their agents in the USA, but he took a stand. For America."
This is utterly delusional. The "DC thing" is resistance to Trump, typically under the false flag of "conservatism." Kent is doing the DC thing in spades. And it's a 90% certainty Trump is right and Kent -- a total nobody before this -- will be given a lucrative reward for his "patriotism" in the form of a gig with CNN or another anti-Trump cesspit.
No matter how one feels about the war, we’re in it, and the default position should be to help or at least not hinder a successful outcome as soon as possible. For our troops, if not for our country. Kent deserves no sympathy for his look-at-me attention grab.
Today’s version of Andy Warhol’s '15 minutes of fame'... Ride the Trump train, stab him in the back, then hit the The View/CNN/MSNBC circuit. And more recently, throw in those Tucker Carlson interviews too.
Not to be misconstrued as support or criticism for Kent, but some commenters are spot on that giving someone a job because they're "a nice guy" and you "feel sorry for them" is an absolutely terrible reason to hire someone.
Joe Kent is a hero. He resigned because he realized this is Epstein's war, not america's war.
It's what bravery actually looks like. Kent is a decorated hero. Trump is a draft-dodging chicken hawk. Real tough guy. Let's see that soft little cunt Barron in fatigues. He's old enough to die for Isreal.
General Caine, Tulsi Gabbard, JD Vance, and Marco Rubio all had objections to launching this campaign. Trump launched his war of choice over the objections of many.
Kent leaked information to Tucker and to icon of the Jew hating left, and right, Candace Owens. He was fired, or left, and next day went on the podcast tour, tucker and Candace. Lots of money in Jew hating these days. I'm sure he will do well on the view and other anti Trump anti Jew platforms.
"Very weak on security, good thing he’s out": ~ Trump referring to Joe Kent
But if Kent was "very weak on security", why was he the director of the US National Counterterrorism Center?
And if he's weak on security why didn't you FIRE HIM? Isn't that you whole thing? Ken quit because Trump is weak on security and made America weak and vulnerable at the behest of Isreal.
I think people that are calling him a leaker are completely wrong because they said the same thing about Dan Caldwell, who also went on Tucker after he was dismissed for leaking. The only problem? He wasn't leaking and is now working for the administration.

In a war you give your advice, when a decision goes against you you shut the fuck up and you help your buddies win.
Kent could have resigned quietly and that would have been fine. But a public statement like this to aid Trump's enemies betrays everyone in the administration. Everyone in the Trump administration is fighting an evil vicious group of people and now everyone in the administration has to deal with this shit so Kent could get a job at CNN.

We don't have to wait for the threat to be an all-or-nothing situation, Iran's continued lower level attacks on America over the years (either in its own name or through its proxies) constitute not only an "imminent" threat, they constitute a threat that has been carried out.
I can see disagreeing that going to war now was the best course of action, but it is entirely wrong to say that Iran was not a threat.

I have a question. How is this "Epstien's War"? What mental calculus caused you to draw this conclusion? I'm speaking to anyone here who thinks meme carries any weight.
True - as I recall, Epstein did not kill himself many years before the bombing started!
My guess is that the Left still clings to the notion that Trump did awful things to underage women on Epstein Island and that Israel now holds it as blackmail to bend Trump to their will.
"We have been at war for 47 years" functions as a conversation stopper that quashes questions about how wise or justified this war is and what the endgame is.
No, it simply responds to the "no imminent threat" argument. We can discuss other arguments - the long history of sanctions not changing Iran's behavior, the (thankfully) less long history of giving them pallets of cash not changing Iran's behavior, etc.
Trump is a Mensch, not a politician. And he's still unguarded and frank, despite TDS and near-constant media scrutiny. I knew him tangentially in the mid-1980s through work. He was a good friend to his friends, a good boss to young professional women in male-dominated real estate development world. His kids are functioning adults, his grandkids gracious children, lucky man.
That said, your employees are supposed to be loyal to you, to your brand. Joe Kent certainly ain't loyal, trooping from podcast to podcast to promote and commodify his 10 minutes of fame.
Don’t like Trump’s policies? Resign by thanking Trump for the opportunity. Resigning with guns blazing is classless. You are foolish one here Joe Kent ….. you and Little E.
"No imminent threat" is a major argument against this war. "We've been at war with Iran for 47" is presented as a way to get around that argument. It doesn't. People are of course, free to argue other questions.
Little E is that guy that stands around telling you you are doing it wrong, but never picks up a tool to help, because he fears the responsibility of action, and has no ideas worth trying.
Little Ex: Iran had to stop doing three things to avoid this war: Stop supporting regional proxies; end its ballistic development and production; and, stop enriching uranium past civilian uses.
Donald Trump told countries including the UK hit by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to “go get your own oil”, because the US “won’t be there to help you anymore”. ~ BBC
Pretty astonishing statement considering who messed up the supply in the first place, but not unexpected. Basically another one out of the mob playbook; sabotage other suppliers so people have no choice but to buy from you. At this point it would be better if Trump stopped "being there for us".
Why are you incapable of dealing with the fundamental issue at hand: Iran could close the Strait at any time for the last 20+ years. Now is the last, best, chance to change that.
There is nothing astonishing about Trump's statement — it is, and has been, pure fact.
That you want to leave Iran in control of the Strait is astonishing.

Burden sharing seems like the kind of thing to negotiate up front, not after making a mess of things.
You got to admire the audacity of asking Arab states to pay for Israel’s war.

The reverse Pottery Barn rule: I broke it, you buy it.
Little Ex: talk to us about imminence. What it is, why rely upon it rather than inevitability. Oh, and a plausible alternative course of action.
Oh wait. I forgot my rule. Don't engage with trolls.
Little E is that guy that stands around telling you you are doing it wrong, but never picks up a tool to help, because he fears the responsibility of action, and has no ideas worth trying.
I'm in solid company with the majority of Americans who disagree with Trump's little excursion against Iran.
Little Ex: Iran had to stop doing three things to avoid this war: Stop supporting regional proxies; end its ballistic development and production; and, stop enriching uranium past civilian uses.
Which of these things do you disagree with?
"No imminent threat" is a major argument against this war. "We've been at war with Iran for 47" is presented as a way to get around that argument.
Bullshit.
If one - just one - of the presidents actually dealt with the Iran situation when it was thrust upon us 47 years ago, we wouldn't be here now.
Did you consider Al-Queda to be an imminent threat on 9/10/2001?
Donald Trump told countries including the UK hit by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to “go get your own oil”, because the US “won’t be there to help you anymore”. ~ BBC
Pretty astonishing statement considering who messed up the supply in the first place, but not unexpected. Basically another one out of the mob playbook; sabotage other suppliers so people have no choice but to buy from you. At this point it would be better if Trump stopped "being there for us".
Seems the American public is thinking the same.
