Beasts: the existing Congresscritters would resent being diluted, but the parties as a whole might rejoice at the chance to have even more seats, with the accompanying budgets, etc.

It would make lobbying more difficult, but that could backfire and just give more advantage to huge interest groups that can afford even more man-hours, dinners, etc.

On the other hand, with a better rep-to-repped ratio, ordinary people will have a better chance to get their Congresscritter's ear. Could be more like British MPs' 'surgery,' where they sit and take complaints from all comers.

What I think happened is that the two would somewhat frequently meet and rub elbows at parties in NYC and Miami. Then Epstein crossed the line with a woman or two, at MAL. Trump banned him there, and never trusted him after that. Sure, superficially, they appeared to still be buddies. But that is just how Trump is - he can be best friends with Putin and Xi, and the next one appear to be their mortal enemy. And Epstein continued to try to take advantage of that, trying to sell some insights into Trump, from their time in proximity to each other. But he never really had any dirt on Trump. Halftime at the Super Bowl used to be a big thing. You might not be interested in the game itself, but you, and millions of others, would tune in for the halftime show. Now, many of those watching it, just mute their TVs through the halftime show, and do something else. And those of us who didn’t watch it, don't bother at all. Used to be a great day to go skiing (like New Year’s Day). Not so much any more.

Last week, the FBI raided the election facilities for Fulton County, GA, scooping up the ballots, their provenance, tally tapes, etc. so far, we know that over a third of a million ballots there were illegally included in the state counts, which is 30x Biden’s winning margin in that state. And the tally tapes weren’t signed, as they legally should have been, because the Fulton County election officials are the ones who locked Republicans election judges out of the room where the counting was going on, after it was discovered that the Biden count was too “light”.

We talked recently, in a recent thread, about the Trump Administration having too much muzzle velocity. Several of us pointed out that what they were really talking about is rate of fire. In modern infantry tactics, you use machine guns, with high rates of fire, to keep your enemy’s heads down, while the rest of your unit maneuvers around them, to take them from the side. And, I think that these attacks on Dem election fraud are a result of this. The Dems are all so focused on their attacks on ICE, whether we are going to bomb Iran, whether the Worker’s Paradise of Cuba is finally going to implode, etc, that they have missed the center thrust at one of their key weapons - election fraud. I’m not even sure that is accurate. The thing about aircraft is they cost a lot of money to own, maintain, and keep crewed that gets wasted if they just sit on the ground. Airlines make profit by keeping planes in the air doing what they do as much as possible. So if you have the aircraft and crew, then the best thing to do is have others help pay for all of it by letting them use it when you are not. That’s even better if you have the plane on a popular route between Teterboro and West Palm Beach. It is like having a second home that you AirBnB when you’re not using it. You most likely don’t use it together.

And this is the problem for most people associated with Epstein’s jet. However, I don’t recall the Clintons having homes in New York and Florida nor the Caribbean.; 02-02-26 8:28 AM

I am proud of Minneapolis for standing up against Trump’s ICE raids. It takes a lot of courage to organize relentless peaceful protests against large groups of armed men with little training and who feel they have immunity to do as they please, especially in 20 below zero temperatures.

It appears that the Minneapolis ICE operation- the largest ever- was meant to be the rollout of a plan to give ICE agents unfettered ability to round up illegal immigrants by any means necessary and to make a show of force against anyone standing in their way.

That resulted in hundreds of cases of excessive force, false arrest, illegal search and seizure, among other crimes committed by masked ICE agents, including murder. These crimes were committed against citizens, legal, and illegal immigrants alike. Tragically, one of those women, not an organizer and not an Antifa or Black Bloc member but duped into believing that she had the chance to be the hero of her own story, gave her life for the delusion she had been led to - that she could act with impunity against armed federal agents who were being purposely placed under terrible stress by her side.

Pretti wasn't a "wine mom" - by all accounts he was more involved than they are - but he still tragically gave his life for that same delusion.

The next horrible person appears to be getting kids to believe that delusion. How long before a high school kid with a learners permit tries a Renee Good feint with her mom's car?

How are the tactics of the organizers different from Hamas ' hiding behind women and children? Because their strategy is certainly the same: obfuscate your indefensible position by creating a PR screen with the eager assistance of the media.; 02-02-26 10:33 AM

I like how everyone just ASSUMES the tally tapes weren't signed. Did the media ever ask the folks that were supposed to sign if they signed the tapes? Did the media ask why they didn't sign them?
