This afternoon, we were sitting on a bench by the trail when a murderous branch fell out of a tree about 30 feet away from us. These things just suddenly drop. All those trees — they're all going to fall. And yet we walk in the woods.
Texas gov Abbot was hit by a falling tree and is in now in a wheel chair. Rep Crockett called him Governor Hot Wheels and a Travis county judge said he hates trees because one fell on him. Quite humorous.
It appears that the Trump administration, specifically Harmeet Dhillon, are looking into possible irregularities in Ilhan Omar’s naturalization. It's about time.
Lose the ear buds and you'll hear the branch cracking before it falls. If you're really fit, and not just posing for Meade's camera fit, your natural instincts will have you out of the way. Pulling a gun on a tree really won't help. Good luck lady.
"What began as a dashcam video posted online quickly turned into one of the most alarming roadway safety stories of the year. The footage shows a fully loaded 18-wheeler traveling at highway speed in the wrong direction near Troy, Missouri, forcing passenger vehicles to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid a head-on collision.
The incident occurred on February 25 and was later confirmed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, which intercepted the driver after several miles of wrong-way travel. No fatalities were reported, but the margin for disaster was razor thin.
The story escalated when U.S. Transportation officials confirmed that the driver held a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued in Minnesota but reportedly had difficulty understanding basic traffic signage.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has opened an investigation into the carrier involved, Cargo Transportation LLC, to review its safety record, hiring practices, and compliance history."
In Hawaii we have Eucalyptus trees, that grow to 100 ft, and have branches that are the size of small trees. They are self pruning, they drop horizontal branches often. usually the 30 foot long ones. I've lived around them, but never thought they were murderous. Just living their lives peacefully being large trees.
In the last blast of snowmagdocopalypse, a big white oak in the lot behind our house uprooted and went down, taking at least two other trees with it, crossing the road. The county came around and cut it off the road almost immediately, and then a couple of days later they cleaned up the mess on the easement.
The most famous Weekly World News cover lede was killer trees, escaped from a lab in Brazil and working their way north. They can walk and they can step on you. Chiefly a danger to the elderly and infants.

"Yes we've seen instances where one driver has a cdl (license). With 4-5 guys in the truck. The truck is constantly rolling. So it's always making money. They cut holes in the flooring of the truck so they don't have to stop & use restrooms. They'll load a 50gal drum into the sleeper cab for extra fuel & siphon it (stealing) from other trucks. They create other businesses, apply for another DOT# & let it sit. If & when they lose one authority they have another one waiting in the wings. This is just ONE of the ways they've been operating."
I'm seeing more than a few semitractors with magnetic signs or adhesive letters on the doors, so I'm inclined to believe this is going on.

Just so you know, Col MacGregor was a senior defense advisor to Trump in his first term. He is still sympathetic to Trump, but wow, if this is true. Maybe it's AI, but it sure looks and sounds like him saying that the sailors on the Gerald Ford sabotaged the plumbing themselves as a protest.
"I've lived around them, but never thought they were murderous. "
No, they're mostly peaceful. Unlike fir trees. Our co-worker heard a shot, and rushed out to see her car rear window smashed. Was there a sniper? No, it was just a pine cone dropped from 50 feet from a deadly Douglas fir.
BTW, the Tom Turkeys were out in force today strutting and showing their tail feathers. Seems early. But you gotta move fast if you want one of those lovely ladies.
There was a Mississippi cavalryman's daybook or journal in our archive, in which he mentioned a tree branch falling and killing Anderson in Co. D while he slept. Just months before the end, and after making it through years of action.
Anybody think the Sunday talk shows will discuss the Biden Administration tapping the phones of Trump’s campaign or giving Fani Willis $2 million “gift grant” after opening an investigation on Trump? Seems like such a blatant misuse of executive power to subvert democracy would be an interesting story for the news media.
Husband and I lost a dear friend today. Hell of a gal. Riding around her ranch on her four wheeler. Something happened, she flipped, it fell on top of her. Caretaker found her. She had everything. It was so sudden. We forget that can happen.
I also was sipping my morning coffee once in an old growth forest (Sylvania, in the UP), staring into the woods, and a large branch fell off a humongous tree, crashing to the ground. Not a breath of wind. It happens, but what a sad thing it would be if it kept us from going into the woods.
I remember, a long time ago, in a blog near and dear to us, that I spelled the number three as tree and I was gently corrected. I will never forget that day for as long as I live, as God is my witness, I will never go misspelling the number three again.
You know, after I posted that note about a Serial Killers Exhibit here in GA. It occurred to me that I could never be a successful serial killer. I have a scientifically undiscovered malady which renders me blind at the sight of blood. Only temporarily thank Goodness. So, I was thinking, you know how killers comeback to the scene of their dastardly deeds? I wouldn’t be coming back, I wouldn’t be coming back at all because I would still be there, practically paralyzed by the sight of blood. You know what sad is that, you don’t need a background check to become a serial killer. It’s really an untapped growth field of endeavor. More people have climbed Everest than have become serious serial killers. It’s a fact. I don’t need AI to tell me.

Operation Epic Fury. I may have this wrong but appears that Israel is decapitating the leaders, US is destroying the tactical missile launch and IRGC sites, and Pahlavi is managing the citizen led return to Iran as it was prior to the Islamic takeover.
Two adults were killed, and a third person was critically injured after a tree fell on their vehicle while they were driving in Calvert County, authorities said.
The crash happened on Solomons Island Road (Route 2) near Aspen Woods Drive in Sunderland, according to Kristen Leitch, a spokeswoman for the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.
On a lighter note, I was taking an Amish kid to my ranch to do some yard work when we passed an electronic sign. He said his horse goes bonkers when he is approaching it.
The reason the media is not treating the FBI listening in on private conversations between Trump's campaign manager and her lawyer as a scandal is that Jack Smith got a secret warrant before he did it.
If the Nixon administration had gotten a secret warrant before they bugged the Watergate, no problem whatsoever. You can do anything, as long as a judge signs off on it first.
So much for the MAGA President who wants to stop wars. Lying comes so naturally to him.

My roommate in college was driving with his family on the Merritt Parkway and approached a work crew that didn’t mark the roadway with signs it anything. They were on the side if the road cutting down a tree with a chain saw. As the car approached the tree started to fall- across the roadway. It brushed the top of their a bit just as it fell behind them…
Coming out of Charleston this week the car in front of me was following a pickup pulling a really old horse trailer, no horse, but the trailer detached, careened into the opposite lanes, struck a van so hard the trailer careened back across four lanes of traffic, crashing into the opposite guard rail. No injuries but the van and the crappy trailer…

Joe, Mika and the gang are all scrubbed, shaved, and dressed up to narrate this operation on MSCOW. On a Saturday! They sometimes don't even look this good on Wednesdays. Definitely supports Money Manger's theory of how the MSM had their reaction locked and cocked. Joe even mentioned how he had a conversation with Trump a few days ago. Did the President give him a scoop? Doubtful. But Joe could probably hear the drumbeats and cancelled his usual weekend getaway.
David Ignatius said something intelligent. He characterized the Iran op as a 'Viking Raid.' As in we're not sticking around to try to run the place. Of course, he says Viking like it's a bad thing. More anti-Scandi racism. CC, JSM

USA usa 🇺🇸 Hard and wett we are-- our weapons and country's finest at work! Get up already
The Democrats forced his hand to act now with the War Powers vote. btw, which was almost certainly their intention, that toilet thing was probably disinformation by Col MacGregor, who, after all is in the warmonger's circle, maybe not inner circle.
The anti-Trump rants the seemingly paid posters (why would anyone do it for free?) post here don’t seem to be having the desired impact. I guess too much anti-Trump money sloshing around. A good recession used to fix problems like this…
Pretty good article in NPR. One interesting thing I found out is that Saturday is like Monday in Iran. It's the first day of the work-week. (Thursdays and Fridays are the weekend in Iran). They are completely off-Sabbath, apparently.
Iran is alleging that we blew up a school. You'd have to show photographs for me to start to believe anything they say. Anyway, an attack on a Saturday is an attack when people are working and in those buildings.

This happens in the movie Train Dreams. They are called Widow Makers. Since some fall silently and without warning, there is no way to always be on the alert for them.
I voted for the guy three times, so I obviously know nothing, and obviously, I am complicit in this. So good luck to our boys, and I hope it comes out well for them, our boys, I mean.
I'm guessing the average American cares a lot more about why the hell Biden was abusing the DOJ to spy on his opponent campaign and giving $2 million to a prosecutor falsely accusing his opponent. I know the average American wants to know why we sending billions in cash to Iran to put food on their table and build their electrical grid, while we hamstrung ours.
Death is coming ... That's what the old tree was telling you this lenten season. The trees are alive but they can live in peaceful contentment for years and years unmolested...

Years ago, when my kids we little, I took them and a friend on a trip to the Boundary Waters. Our four day, 24 mile canoe trip, over Labor Day, had very high winds. As we paddled along river and lake, we often witness trees falling over. That area has very little soil on top of solid rock (typically granite) so the trees really don't get rooted well. I didn't sleep at all, every night worrying a tree would fall and hit our tent.
I think they probably should have done this weeks ago if they were going to do it at all. It seems weird now, but if this war mongering allows Thune to bring the Save America Act up to vote and it to get passed by McConnell and his clique then it's worth it.
Ive been commenting on electricity bills for many years. Most of the US pays very reasonable rates, the exceptions are (especially) California and New York + the Democratic NE states. Electricity is a state matter as all this is determined by state government policy and overseen by their PUC's. The FedGov cant do anything about mismanagement in these places without taking over their governments.
Buwaya: "The FedGov cant do anything about mismanagement in these places without taking over their governments."
Good idea. Guarantee Clause. Add up enough evil deeds by a state government - gerrymandering, regulatory capture, wholesale fraud, woke racism, etc - and it meets the Foxworthy standard that it maybe, possibly, might not be under a republican form of government anymore.
I would have liked it if Nixon took Illinois away from Daley Sr, for instance. CC, JSM

Judge Boasberg will sign anything anti-Trump. I guess Trump needs to find a friendly judge to sign warrants to spy on all his Democrat opponents. Then, it's all legal and no problem, am I right?

Operation Epic Fury. I may have this wrong but appears that Israel is decapitating the leaders, US is destroying the tactical missile launch and IRGC sites, and Pahlavi is managing the citizen led return to Iran as it was prior to the Islamic takeover.
It's so quaint that our Constitution says Congress has the power to declare war.
You're not even safe in your car:
Two adults were killed, and a third person was critically injured after a tree fell on their vehicle while they were driving in Calvert County, authorities said.
The crash happened on Solomons Island Road (Route 2) near Aspen Woods Drive in Sunderland, according to Kristen Leitch, a spokeswoman for the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.

Well here we go in the Middle East. No turning back now.
On a lighter note, I was taking an Amish kid to my ranch to do some yard work when we passed an electronic sign. He said his horse goes bonkers when he is approaching it.
On MS NOW they are complaining that the talks with Iran were close to a result.

It brushed the top of their a bit just as it fell behind them…
Largest hostage rescue operation in history.
Ah-ooo, were-trees of Madison! Ah-ooo!

Trump tells Iranians the 'hour of your freedom is at hand' as US-Israel launch strikes against Iran ~ FOX News
With Stephen Miller running America's domestic policy, Benjamin Netanyahu running its foreign policy, and Donald Trump heading up interior decorating and bribe-taking, the executive branch has tripled its efficiency.
MAGA's three branches of government.
CC, JSM
I'm done with the tool of the Israelis.
…yah, Trump saying go overthrow your government makes it sound like there’s no occupation coming…
Get up, soldiers.
What a day for meade and bridey to sleep in!
Or maybe they went out for a celebratory breakfast...
Weez at war again! Your parents would be so proud, annie. Protect the jews at all costs...
Now do your part and go fetch a man a cup of coffee, ann. The attacks are on... we don't need you detailing the moon position telling us when conditions are ripe for the killings to begin...
USA usa 🇺🇸
Hard and wett we are-- our weapons and country's finest at work! Get up already
Damn!
The Democrats forced his hand to act now with the War Powers vote. btw, which was almost certainly their intention, that toilet thing was probably disinformation by Col MacGregor, who, after all is in the warmonger's circle, maybe not inner circle.
How does this help us again? Not Israel, us.
The anti-Trump rants the seemingly paid posters (why would anyone do it for free?) post here don’t seem to be having the desired impact. I guess too much anti-Trump money sloshing around. A good recession used to fix problems like this…
The U.S. military has become Trumps domestic policy failure distraction service.
Early reports are saying that Khamenei has fled the country.
I haven't waded into the comments yet, so has anybody claimed the attack on Iran is to distract from Epstein?
So as not to totally distract from domestic issues, here is an update on the Deadbeat Dad from Donegal:
Seamus Culleton used a racist slur against his black ex-wife, Boston police records show
https://extra.ie/2026/02/27/news/irish-news/seamus-culleton-racial-slur
"ICE detainee Séamus Culleton was accused of calling his black ex-wife ‘[notorious epithet] scum’ and threatened to kill her, US police documents obtained by Extra.ie have shown."
Had to go all the way to an Irish celebrity rag to find this out. One would think Sharpton and Joy would be all over this. CC, JSM
"we were sitting on a bench by the trail when a murderous branch fell out of a tree about 30 feet away from us. These things just suddenly drop."
The escape plan is to run to Russia.
Have the Dems started to ‘Stand with Iran’ yet? lol

I’m guessing the average American cares a lot more about putting food on their table and paying their electricity bills than regime change in Iran.
But old people who worship forever Wars and cheer deaths of innocents Others? One day, we might all wish for a death as simple and natural as a bough breaking in the woods on a daily trek
Good luck to you and yours and all of us. Get that prostate checked regularly, Lawrence. You don't want to leave ann a widow, and that grey look around the gulls can be indicative of internal troubles

I’m sorry that Trump bombed Obama’s buddies in Iran. Please stay strong during this difficult time, Kak.

But if you didn't support Joe's war in Ukraine and sending hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine so Joe could get his 10% you were a Putin puppet amrite?

Remember that this person supported sending hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine and supported the USAID budget. He said people will die if we stop sending foreign aid to Uganda to push trans rights.
He doesn't believe a single word he says.

You don’t disappoint, Inga.
"This afternoon, we were sitting on a bench by the trail when a murderous branch fell out of a tree about 30 feet away from us. These things just suddenly drop."
Yes you dont know anything youve proven that point
I hope Inga wrote that as a good laugh for the rest of us. She couldn't possibly be serious.
Its a broken record about how nixon challenged the foreign policy on the left and right, thats why they got rid of him

It’s not a good idea for deer hunters to park themselves under heavily snow laden pine trees.
Probably not
Those states all the way up the east coast believe in the sky dragon theory agw
Shes going to say otherwise but shes in all with the squad
Buwaya: "The FedGov cant do anything about mismanagement in these places without taking over their governments."
Good idea. Guarantee Clause. Add up enough evil deeds by a state government - gerrymandering, regulatory capture, wholesale fraud, woke racism, etc - and it meets the Foxworthy standard that it maybe, possibly, might not be under a republican form of government anymore.
I would have liked it if Nixon took Illinois away from Daley Sr, for instance. CC, JSM

This is for anyone who wants to know what is actually going on in Iran.
So far our investment in the Iran project has been tiny compared to shipping pallets of cash to the Mullahs.
The Persian people are high IQ and produced a strong vibrant society before they were taken over by a death cult.
It is worth a missile or two to take the Mullahs out.

We understand you are furious about the Epstein files completely exonerating Trump.
They show that the people you are support are part of a corrupt club Trump refused to join.
You are a Bill Clinton voter. You voted for a known rapist.
You are a Hillary Clinton voter. Hillary suppressed the "bimbo eruptions" Bill's rapes caused.

Judge Boasberg will sign anything anti-Trump. I guess Trump needs to find a friendly judge to sign warrants to spy on all his Democrat opponents. Then, it's all legal and no problem, am I right?
Again idiot Inag - Biden had the files. 4 years. He didn't release them because of all the high ranking dems in there.
