Jewish Norman Greenbaum hedging his afterlife bet by cozying up to Jesus.

I remembered the song as being by Canned Heat, and recalled one of the worst concert experiences of my life, sitting on the terrazo floor of some south Georgia civic center. Ouch! Nice photography, though.

I like how the creature limb makes an appearance again.

Norman Greenbaum is a one hit wonder with this song, but it sure gets tons of play in commercials, movies, TV, and now blog posts.

His theology is so bad! Still, it's a zippy, catchy tune.

It's that guitar riff with the vacuum tube amp distortion that made the song a hit, if you ask me.

Sure, and the lyrics are simple so everyone knows them and can sing along.

Instead you’re in Madison.

For what it’s worth, that was one of the songs that John Lennon mentioned as one he appreciated when asked if there any music that stood out back then… probably an RS interview, iirc.

You are probably thinking of Canned Heat’s “On the Road Again”, Magilla Gorilla. Which sounds somewhat similar.

The guy in charge of the water pipes in D.C., David Gadis, is being sued for telling people in Flint, Michigan the water was safe to drink.

243 million gallons of toilet sewage dumped into the drinking water in D.C. on his watch. Biden DEI hire, and the media is looking the other way.

E-coli levels skyrocketing in the Potomac.

D.C. says it has contained it.

Don't drink the water!

One hit wonders are underrated.

I vote for the "Pritzker-Epstein Victim Refugees."

"Let's go Brandon [Johnson]!" can be their team cheer.

Norman Greenbaum, true hippie, still alive at 83. Songwriting royalties from his one hit continue to pad his bank account, I presume

Norman Greenbaum has earned well over $2 million from his 1969 hit "Spirit in the Sky" due to its extensive use in media. Owning a significant share of the publishing rights, he reportedly earns roughly $10,000 every time the song is featured in movies, TV shows, or commercials.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has been released with a caution. He has been allowed to return home to enjoy the rest of his birthday, with more questions to come.

"Jewish Norman Greenbaum hedging...". ..And you want to travel with him... [Actually, as regards Leonard C., he has claimed that Christian motifs became part of his consciousness because a gorgeous Catholic nanny spoke to him about them when he was a child.

Gawd. I remember that stupid song when it first made a hit on the American Top 40, and Casey Kasem did a whole ridiculous story on a phony spiritual interaction between the band and some Indian chief, on a reservation. The bad old days of rock & roll's good old days.

Trump seeks to boost controversial herbicide glyphosate, drawing MAHA ire

President Trump this week issued an executive order that seeks to boost the controversial herbicide glyphosate, drawing ire from the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement.

Glyphosate, a key ingredient in the commonly used and widely litigated weedkiller Roundup, is described as “a cornerstone of this Nation’s agricultural productivity and rural economy” in Trump’s order, issued Wednesday.

Spirit in the Sky was covered twice to great success. SO perhaps one hit three wonders.
