How's that "Climate Change" crisis going these days? Kamala's not worried about it...
Former vice president Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff purchased an $8 million mansion in an exclusive oceanside Malibu neighborhood last month. The move came after Harris spent years warning that such communities could be threatened by the "climate crisis."
A real estate listing for the mansion, reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon, says the luxury pad is "perched in a prime coastal location" with "breathtaking ocean views." The property sits right near a coastline that—according to climate scenarios endorsed by Harris—is at risk of facing extreme flooding. A climate model issued by the Biden-Harris administration determined that Point Dume State Beach, the beach a short walk from Harris's new property, would be severely damaged by sea level rise even under the model's most modest projections.
Harris's new home boasts many of the same luxuries that the Biden-Harris administration targeted with burdensome regulations.
Listing photos reviewed by the Free Beacon show the mansion features a gas-powered stove and fireplace. The Biden-Harris administration introduced regulations that would have banned half of the gas stove models on the market.
The home also has a tankless water heater. The Biden-Harris administration finalized regulations in its final weeks that would have banned roughly 40 percent of the tankless water heaters on the market.
Harris's office didn't return a request for comment.
"A chase down I-81 and through the Borough of Chambersburg ends with one person in jail after he allegedly told police he fled because he thought Troopers were part of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Randy Omar Garcia Ramirez has been charged with misdemeanor fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and citations for following too closely and drivers required to be licensed. He remains incarcerated on $25,000 in Franklin County Jail.
Pennsylvania State Police say that they noticed a blue Nissan Rogue in the left lane of I-81SB in the area of mile marker 18 around 5:50am on January 14th. That vehicle stood out, they say, because it was tailgating multiple vehicles and driving at a high speed. When Troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop around mile marker 16.4, they say that the vehicle instead pulled off the highway and onto US-30, Lincoln Way East, towards the square in Chambersburg.
That vehicle, Troopers say, continued down Lincoln Way East with the Trooper’s emergency lights still active until it turned left onto 8th street and made another immediate right onto E Washington Street. As the vehicle stopped at the sign at the intersection of E Washington and S 6th Street, Troopers attempted to box the vehicle in. The Nissan, however, would allegedly turn north onto S 6th to avoid it and tried to turn into an alley. That roadway, however, would end as a driveway where the chase was terminated. Troopers say that the driver would subsequently exit their car and surrender.
Troopers would identify the driver as Randy Garcia Ramirez by his Guatemalan ID card as well as Troopers later finding a PA ID card through CLEAN (Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network). When asked why he ran, PSP say that Garcia Ramirez told them “he believed the police vehicle to be Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”
Here comes RJW to claim, without any evidence whatsoever, that ICE is a "secret police force."
Which is totally false.
But even if it was: leftists absolutely LOVE and adore secret police forces. It's why every single leftist run place has one. From the Soviets to the East Germans to Pol Pot, Ho Chi Minh, and on and on. Even Walz had stormtroopers out shooting people for violating Covid. Much to the praise and celebration of leftists like RJW, I might add.
Listening some Bill SImmons podcasts called the "Rewatchables". He goes over movies, almost entirely from 1970-2010, aka his lifetime. Since he's broadcasting to sports fans its almost entirely popular male targeted movies. And his viewpoint is that of the average Urban liberal fan. I do note, with concern, the absolute insane hysteria coming from leftists right now. All they are screeching is "Trump has secret police forces gunning down innocent civilians in the streets! He is going to 100% cancel elections forever! He has brownshirts and nazis and " then they start frothing at the mouth worse than a rabid dog.
If the leftists actually believe any of this, then what does that justify? "We gotta start killing everyone who doesn't agree with the need to forcibly stand up to trump and kill all Republicans!"
Democrats are openly willing to die to protect illegal alien child rapists and murders. How does this end well?
I mean, it was just a day or two ago; Althouse posted a video by the new Communist Mayor explaining how citizens need to demand to see papers. That wasn’t Trump.
No, RJW, I am saying that the only thing you are upset about is that you think Trump has a secret police and your side does not. You love secret police harming and killing citizens.... you are just upset that it's not your side with the police, that's all.
But it's a lie: ICE is not a secret police, and they aren't gunning down civilians in the streets. They are defending themselves against evil violent thug leftists who are trained and paid to attack them, though. And to you, that's wrong. No one should be allowed to defend against leftist violence in your view and in every other leftist view. If a leftist wants to hurt or kill someone, it's evil to resist that, and not just offer up our throats to be slit by your side. That's your view.
Last time I flew, a jackbooted fascist thug at the airport not only demanded to see my papers, but subjected me and my belongings to a search. What a Nazi hell-scape!

SpaceX has not officially announced the decision and did not respond to a request for comment, but activists told The Associated Press that Starlink has been available for free to anyone in Iran with the receivers since Tuesday and that the company has gone even further by pushing a firmware update to help circumvent government efforts to jam the satellite signals.
When I read about the steps Riley Gaines must take to protect her infant daughter, my heart hardens against the LGBTQ crowd, and the AWFLs and Democrats who are their enablers in their violence.
I don't think the Iranians are jamming starlink with the same equipment that the United States used to instantly jam the entire air defense and communication system of Venezuela
Tomorrow could be a newsworthy day in Minnesota. Looks like right-wing influencer Jake Lang isn’t on “standby” anymore and will be attending Trump’s retribution fest.
…what the heck kind of software update combats jamming? Is rhhardin up yet?
Signal "jamming" is just raising the noise floor on the RF bands. Starlink operates in bands and the receivers and satellites. They can't jam the entire band at once.
To stop this the receivers and satellites would have to start frequency hopping. Message packets will have a "next-freq" variable and they will hop around. The satellites and the receivers can switch channels to places where the jammers aren't jamming.
You can also stop jamming by doing math better.
The jammers can counter that by randomizing the noise they create.
I don't think the Iranians are jamming starlink with the same equipment that the United States used to instantly jam the entire air defense and communication system of Venezuela
They do the same thing just better.
The more accurately you can attune to the frequency you are jamming, the more channels you an simultaneously jam, the faster you can keep up with frequency hopping, the better aim you have on the directional antennas, jamming from multiple sources.
ECM and ECCM is where the real fight is going to be eventually. Landing a missile where you want it is fairly easy. Knowing where you want to land it is the hard part.
Renee Good had four gunshot wounds, Fire Department report reveals ~ Minnesota Star Tribune https://www.startribune.com/renee-nicole-good-ice-shooting-injuries-incident-report-details/601565066?utm_source=gift
"Newly acquired documents describe Good’s injuries after she was shot by an ICE agent Jan. 7. Renee Good was found with gunshot wounds to the chest, arm and head after a federal immigration officer shot her the morning of Jan. 7, according to the Minneapolis Fire Department’s incident report."
"A group of mostly Democratic U.S. senators sent a letter Thursday to the U.S. Postal Service, voicing concern that mail processing changes could affect postmark dates for mail-in ballots during an election year that will determine control of Congress.
Updated agency policy says postmarks might not indicate the first day the Postal Service received the mail but rather the day it was handled in one of its processing centers. Those centers are increasingly likely to be further away from certain communities because of recent USPS consolidations, which could further delay postmarks, the 16 senators wrote.
“Postmark delays are especially problematic in states that vote entirely or largely by mail,” they wrote to Postmaster General David Steiner, noting that many states use postmark dates to determine whether a mail ballot can be counted. “These changes will only increase the likelihood of voter disenfranchisement.”
...
The Postal Service has received the letter and will respond directly to those who sent it, spokesperson Martha Johnson said.
The agency addresses the issue on its website.
“While we are not changing our postmarking practices, we have made adjustments to our transportation operations that will result in some mailpieces not arriving at our originating processing facilities on the same day that they are mailed,” its website says. “This means that the date on the postmarks applied at our processing facilities will not necessarily match the date on which the customer’s mailpiece was collected by a letter carrier or dropped off at a retail location.”
...
People dropping off mail at a post office can request that a postmark be applied manually, ensuring the postmark date matches the mailing date, the Postal Service’s website says. Manual postmarks are free of charge.
The agency said the “lack of alignment” between the mailing date and postmark date will become more common as it implements its initiative to overhaul processing and transportation networks with an emphasis on regional hubs. The aim of the initiative is to cut costs for the agency, which has grappled with losses in the billions of dollars in recent years.
...
Election officials in states that rely heavily on voting by mail expressed concern with the change.
“Not being able to have faith that the Postal Service will mark ballots on the day they are submitted and mail them in a timely manner undermines vote-by-mail voting, in turn undermining California and other elections,” California Secretary of State Shirley Weber said in a statement.
She said her office will “amplify messaging to voters” who use mailed ballots that they must return their ballots early if they plan to use the post office.
Election officials in Washington state, where voting is done almost entirely by mail, are recommending that those who return their ballot within a week of Election Day do so at a drop box or voting center.
“Given the operational and logistical priorities recently set by the USPS, there is no guarantee that ballots returned via mail will be postmarked by the USPS the same day they are mailed,” the secretary of state’s office said in a statement.
The senators urged Steiner to restore “timely postmarks” and fully stand up an election mail task force. The lawmakers who signed the letter represented California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Maine, Connecticut, New Jersey and Maryland. All are Democrats but one, an independent who typically aligns with the Democratic Party."

Peachy said... "Minneapolis Mayor Frey wants police officers "to fight ICE agents on the streets.""
Minneapolis police get 20 days paid leave over and above their vacation days. A lot of them are taking that tie rather take the time than obey the mayors orders.
A skiing buddy of mine who I train with — serves in the National Guard—brought this to my attention. He told me he wouldn't feel comfortable working for ICE, and according to him, neither would about 90% of the American military. The reason? He says ICE is no longer operating in a professional manner. A lot of people are genuinely concerned—and increasingly resentful.
Then he dropped the really eye-opening part: ICE is apparently meeting its massive recruitment quotas by scooping up candidates who couldn't cut it in the military or standard law enforcement. In other words, the rejects—the ones who struggle with basic physical requirements. These "fat boys" desperate for a badge and authority are getting handed huge signing bonuses (paid for by taxpayers) to join what many in military circles are calling a goon squad. The prevailing view in those same military circles? ICE has gone so badly off the rails that Congress will likely disband or severely rein in the agency before too long.
Having been both, i can tell you there is always a mutual dislike between military and police. Military think police are fat fucks making shit up for ego. Police think military are pretty boys who can’t figure out stuff for themselves. Base towns have all sorts of mil v police confrontations. Even when you go from one to the other (usually mil first), you wind up taking a side: either “yeah these cops really are all messed up,” or “wow I never realized how messed up the army was.” Kak’s friend probably is imaginary, but even if he’s not, his opinion doesn’t surprise me.
In the last 8 months, the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State have all fired their head coaches.
To be fair, Tomlin (Steeler coach) was not fired but ……
…what the heck kind of software update combats jamming? Is rhhardin up yet?
When I read about the steps Riley Gaines must take to protect her infant daughter, my heart hardens against the LGBTQ crowd, and the AWFLs and Democrats who are their enablers in their violence.
I don't think the Iranians are jamming starlink with the same equipment that the United States used to instantly jam the entire air defense and communication system of Venezuela
"…what the heck kind of software update combats jamming?"
Wouldnt they like to know?
I can think of a few things.
Tomorrow could be a newsworthy day in Minnesota. Looks like right-wing influencer Jake Lang isn’t on “standby” anymore and will be attending Trump’s retribution fest.
What could go wrong?

Signal "jamming" is just raising the noise floor on the RF bands. Starlink operates in bands and the receivers and satellites. They can't jam the entire band at once.
To stop this the receivers and satellites would have to start frequency hopping. Message packets will have a "next-freq" variable and they will hop around. The satellites and the receivers can switch channels to places where the jammers aren't jamming.
You can also stop jamming by doing math better.
The jammers can counter that by randomizing the noise they create.
It is a game on one level.

Senators worry that US Postal Service changes could disenfranchise voters who cast ballots by mail (AP News)

When I fly I pack everything including my CPAP in my checked bag along with my toiletries,(which includes a swiss army knife) and anything else non essential. My carry on is a change of clothes, my meds and a book. Every time I arrive home and open my checked bag there is a note from TSA saying they checked my bag.

Tim Walz claims that stealing funds meant to feed hungry kids and diverting it to well connected fraudsters makes you “an island of decency “
Tales from my imaginary friend.
