I suppose if you press them, they'll agree that it was a bit much for Red China to force women to have abortions during the One Child policy, but it was done in a good cause and ultimately worked to undermine the patriarchy. No child, no patriarchy as Stalin was rumored to say.......Seriously, is there any third world abuse of women that muster the same amount of indignation as late term abortion restrictions inspire among feminists here.

While it is a movie about Turks after the 1980 coup, I recommend the movie YOL for a fine depiction of family honor killings in the Muslim world. The family details of the plot line in the movie differ no doubt from the story above, but the idea of honor killings was a revelation to me when I first saw the film. The concept of killing a family member to avoid public shame to the entire family was foreign to me as a younger person. Having your cousin arrested for violent child abuse apparently is strongly shaming enough in Iranian society that killing him is better than calling the cops. Now we know.

It seems Iran Human Rights wants us to be outraged against Iran, not for warmongering against Israel, Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria, not for proliferating weapons of mass destruction, but for punishing women for murder. Iran Human Rights provides no context for those killings. Were they clear cases of self-defense against imminent deadly threats, or after-the-fact acts of personal vengeance? Common law sees a clear distinction between the two, one is natural right, regrettably exercised. The other is a capital crime.
Wives should not be abused by their husbands. This is a Western value, generally ignored by most cultures across the globe, but especially by the followers of Mohammad, which ought to make Westerners wary of Islam, yet The Guardian is one of the most prominent voices denouncing such perfectly reasonable suspicion and wariness as "Islamophobia". They square that circle by generally ignoring such crimes when they occur in Europe, and in the same instant point an accusing finger at Iran as if Islam has nothing to do with those killing and executions.
Given the dearth of context regarding these executions we should be circumspect about the particular cases, and defensive of our threated Western Tradition which condemns both spousal abuse and murder with equal conviction.

If an American man cannot find a satisfactory wife locally, perhaps the competition for them is too intense or they are too "expensive" in terms of the demands they are making, there are millions of women in other lands that would be glad to hear his proposals because their local men are offering them less, and cannot compete with the American. Thats like going abroad to find a lower cost supplier of widgets.

A US man is not looking for a wealthy wife or one that can bring him into a first world society. He already has these things, he is (relatively) a wealthy man with a US passport.

When I look at the divorces within my circle of family and friends, one was very acrimonious but over time issues resolved themselves. And in another divorce, the dad chose to (was forced to?) disengage completely from his children. He remarried a pilot and travels all around the world with her - so I don’t know how serious he was about staying involved with his kids. Otherwise mostly long term (from the outside looking in) good marriages with relatively amicable divorces sprinkled about. No horror stories.

Effective, reliable birth was the precondition that made modern feminism inevitable (in my opinion) and changed the dynamics between men and women.

Feminism voiced the demands, but the pill made them actionable, affecting both men and women in unintended ways. Without it, societal norms around relationships would have changed more slowly - and maybe would not have changed at all.

I think the reason for that was because we thought those instincts fir reproduction were so hard wired, nothing could change them. Turns out (in my opinion) we were wrong.

If men make any kind of comment to a woman at work they risk getting fired. Men and women at work all say they don't want to work for a female manager. But they only say it when HR isn't listening.
And the HR departments that have created these gestapo regimes in workplaces are filled with Karens.
Male professors are petrified of their female students.
And then we get to how boys are treated by their female teachers in public schools.
Feminism has trained men from a very young age to be afraid and walk on eggshells around women.

It seems pretty clear that [news.gallup +1]'s comment is based on the idea that more people thinking favorably of female bosses is better than fewer. Does [news.gallup +1] explain why that might be, or is it just assumed to be so because...?
Gallup is reporting on their polling. The numbers are
1953 66% male boss preference
2917 23% male boss preference, 55% no preference
What do these polls reflect? They reflect progress (progression) to no gender preference.
What is so difficult to understand?

Feminism has essentially resulted from women having voted themselves free of then patriarchy, replacing it, financially, with state support, either in the form of welfare, or the unequal financial costs of divorce.
In a closed society, males and females of equal status tend to mate. They tend to pair up fairly quickly in studies. But in a feminist society, the women tend to overrate themselves. Instead of 10s mating with 10s, and 5s with 5s, you have 7 and 8 women insisting on 10 men, 5 women insisting on 7 and 8 men, etc. For the most part finding themselves significantly outnumbering the males that they are willing to mate with. Which results in the higher status males being able to have sex with a lot more women (and Trump’s “Grab their pussy” joke), without the necessity of marriage. Making this worse is the feminization of college, and the reality that, despite that, college educated women prefer college aged mates. The result is that high status males get plenty of mating opportunities, and little pressure to find a wife, while lower status males can't find dating, and thus, marriage opportunities.
Thats with a closed mating pool. But, for American men (but not women) it isn’t a closed mating pool any more. They can find very acceptable mates around the world, as some here have done. American women, for the most part, can’t, because of their drive to only marry similar or higher status males, and by wealth, most non-American males have significantly lower status than American women.
Achilles says men are lonely because American women and feminism ruined everything.
At the same time he says men have the option to find more attractive, willing women available abroad.
Those two positions can’t both be true at the same time.
If men have a giant global pool of better options (as he says, as Bruce Hayden says, and as other men have said in these comments) then American feminism isn’t stopping any male from finding a partner.
If men - with all these available options - are still lonely then it is for reasons that have nothing to do with feminism.

One that I saw recently: This young couple is standing above a lush valley of trees and streams and birds and wildlife. They say to each other (I’m paraphrasing) “There’s so much room here for us. We can have children, our children can have children here and soon we can populate this whole valley.”

Obama referenced the "shovel ready" jobs fiasco when women bitched that all of the jobs required actual work building things and they didn't want to do that.
