"When I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear."

Yeah, they won't hear you....CC, JSM

Mike (MJB Wolf) చెప్పారు...

She can’t be bullied is what I hear. The GQ hack really wanted an apology but for what, for whatever people who reacted to the ad said? I like Sweeneys simple “I was filming” not paying attention to the internet answer. Screw Condé Nast and their lame reporter.

rhhardin చెప్పారు...

Black people aren't as pretty as white people, but I heard that from a black woman as part of a very early experimental consciousness raising seminar, as a complaint about standards of beauty that left her feeling bad. The nose is too broad, I remember. So it's a genes thing.

Consciousness raising seminars were friendlier back then. Nobody pushing guilt.

tim maguire చెప్పారు...

I was hoping for whatever the PR-sanitized version of “Those people are lying. None of them were hurt or offended,” but I’ll take the cold stare and “You bore me. Ask something else.”

buwaya చెప్పారు...

Smart woman, and tough. You can sense the hostile subtext in this little talk. She knows she's facing a predator, and deals with her with calm, cool poise. Womens duels are something.

rehajm చెప్పారు...

Here’s someone getting attention and the left can’t get through their day without knowing that person is promoting their politics or knowing if they need to be canceling them. That makes them all horrible humans

rehajm చెప్పారు...

I have one of those Spokane grown people at home. Can kinda tell…

rehajm చెప్పారు...

She’s a movie star from the 1940s

Breezy చెప్పారు...

The interviewer has a difficult time looking at Sweeney while asking her questions. It’s bizarre. To me, that indicates the interviewer is not invested in what she is asking. She appears embarrassed to be asking those questions.

Breezy చెప్పారు...

As she should be.

Derve చెప్పారు...

Sweeney was too dumb to understand the double entendre they had her mouthing.... She really thought it was all about the jeans, not her genes. Jokes on her too.

Derve చెప్పారు...

(Don't look to models for social commentary. She gets paid to be seen, not heard... Hth.)

rehajm చెప్పారు...

I don’t know who that interviewer but she could be any one of thousands of Brookline or Cape Cod inbred lockjaws what went to Hamilton or Bates. Boring and ordinary, though on brand to be j’accuse on race…

Shouting Thomas చెప్పారు...

“If you won’t apologize, somebody might want to assassinate you. Have you ever thought about that?”

The Vault Dweller చెప్పారు...

This could fall under another tag of "Female Bullying Tactics." The interviewer is getting mocked on social media for seemingly trying repeatedly to get Sydney Sweeney to say she is sorry for something related to that ad.

narciso చెప్పారు...

Hard to look when youre staring daggers

The Vault Dweller చెప్పారు...

Sydney's response reminds me a little of Dolly Parton. In my mind Dolly Parton is one of the best women at handling these little jabs and slights veiled in fake niceness and caring. I say women because the social rules are in general a bit more constraining for women in these situations than men.

rehajm చెప్పారు...

Credit to the interviewer for not saying out loud whatever Trump derangement mantra popped into her head at that moment. This is what they meant by ‘better messaging’…

She's quite attractive in a natural feminine way.
Sydney looks like a hot mess who never met a hairbrush here. nttawwt I'm sure those lips are functional, and nevermind how she ages. Enjoy her while she's still hott.

n.n చెప్పారు...

Sydney is not a bloc act under the Diversity (i.e. class-disordered) umbrella. Separately, she doesn't feel compelled or comforted to argue from authority.

Lawnerd చెప్పారు...

Sydney is awesome. She shoots guns, rather well in fact. She drives a vintage Mustang that she restored. She doesn’t bow down to the woke mob. And she can’t be cancelled because she is bigger than the woke mob.

The risk is that someone may infer you are a "burden" from a colored association and Choose to cancel perchance to abort you is a community organizer perspective and solution from a narcissistic personality or with a nihilistic faith.

A study in confidence. The interviewer cannot maintain eye contact while Sweeney stays locked on throughout this clip. Beautiful, articulate, and confident. I think i'm in love.

campy చెప్పారు...

“If you won’t apologize, somebody might want to assassinate you. Have you ever thought about that?”

Sydney should avoid visiting Virginia next year.

bagoh20 చెప్పారు...

I'd be in love with her for her intelligence and coolness even if she wasn't incredibly attractive.
Wait, I think I said that backwards.

Reddington చెప్పారు...

lol the interviewer thought she was being so smooth. They’re never as clever as they think they are.

bagoh20 చెప్పారు...

"consciousness raising seminar" = coffee.

Iman చెప్పారు...

Sydney has some great points there.

Deep State Reformer చెప్పారు...

How good of an actor is she? I've never seen any of Sweeney's work beside the jeans commercial.

..."She appears embarrassed to be asking those questions...."

I think this is a case of Stoeffel (the interviewer), trying to pull off acting embarrassed for Sweeney, incredulous that she doesn't get it, and won't play ball. It's an act, IMO, a form of trying to pressure Sweeney into apologizing for her jeans ad, and her notoriety because of it.

She wants Sweeney to toe the line and distance herself from the cries of 'racism' and 'white supremacy' that arose as a result of a simple jeans ad. Sweeney is smart enough to know that if she caves on the issue, she'll be caving from now on.

Levi Starks చెప్పారు...

Please don’t cancel me.

narciso చెప్పారు...

'Dont blame me because im beautiful'

Larry J చెప్పారు...

My take is the interviewer was pissed that Sweeney didn’t take the opportunity to bash Trump and apologize for not being a TDS inflicted leftist.

Whiskeybum చెప్పారు...

The only way this interview could have been better is if Sweeney had dressed in the exact same outfit that she wore in the jeans commercial.

tommyesq చెప్పారు...

The interviewer has about as much skill asking questions as the character Chris Farley played in interviewing Oaul McCartney. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/J8_pJDh1UtQ

Beasts of England చెప్పారు...

I’ve seen photos of Sweeney but never video / audio. She seems sweet and composed. Good for her…

john mosby చెప్పారు...

Whiskeybum: I can think of several ways the interview could be better, if you know what I mean….CC, JSM

Leslie Graves చెప్పారు...

Sweeney’s dead-eye gaze at the interviewer is fun to watch. There’s a subtext in the middle of the interviewer when the videographer pulls back for a few seconds to display Sweeney’s legs which I interpreted as the videographer (or editor) voting for Sweeney.

LOL.

As the interviewee, Sweeney looking away at times while she answered the question communicated to the audience she was searching her thoughts for an honest and diplomatic answer.

The interviewer looking away while delivering the discursive predicate for her eventual question came across to the viewer as passive/aggressive and dishonest, someone not in search of truth but of confession and contrition. An agenda demanded by the media machine that put her in this position for which she is manifestly unqualified.

Beasts of England చెప్పారు...

’…to display Sweeney’s legs which I interpreted as the videographer (or editor) voting for Sweeney.’

They’re vote getters for sure.

Fred Drinkwater చెప్పారు...

Watch Sweeney's videos working on her cars. Her brother is a USAF staff sergeant. I'm sure she's been dealing with catty girls since puberty, if not before.

Fred Drinkwater చెప్పారు...

I think Aggie has the interviewer nailed.

Leland చెప్పారు...

Seeing this cut of the interview, I'm not having as much problem with the interviewer as others might. She certainly comes with a bias that I wouldn't hold, but she didn't seem berating as say Norah O'Donnell and therefore far more professional than Norah O'Donnell.

What is more impressive is Sweeney's response in total. As noted elsewhere, she is very calm, thoughtful, and sincere in the face of an interviewer that seems anxious and manipulative. The interviewer is not asking probing questions and instead leading questions. She is trying to get a certain answer from Sweeney, but instead she gets answers from Sweeney that shows Sweeney is not nearly as excited about events as the interviewer. I love Sweeney, "I'm working 16-hour days and don't bring my phone on set". Instead of gossiping about social media (as we do here); Sweeney has her work ethic and doesn't care.

Stoeffel is trying to give Sydney an out. She's wanting her to apologize for the jeans ad. Sydney, quite correctly, isn't having it.

Peachy చెప్పారు...

The left hate beautiful women who are not loyal and dedicated to the D-cult. I'm OK with it.

NorthOfTheOneOhOne చెప్పారు...

Also, you can expect a full bore character assassination campaign from the media after this.

Peachy చెప్పారు...

Why do so many leftist females talk like Valley girls?
Like - it really is, like , literally - like, so annoying.

’Watch Sweeney's videos working on her cars.’

I usually hate when people tell me what to do, but I’ll make an exception in the interest of automotive knowledge.

D.D. Driver చెప్పారు...

Who do you hate? Sidney Sweeny or Bad Bunny? You have to hate one or the other! Those are the rules! Derp.

Beasts of England చెప్పారు...

Love that she has a first generation Bronco! Classy young lady - no wonder the left hates her.

Wince చెప్పారు...

Turns out, the interviewer Katherine Stoeffel has a history of blindly serving up the KoolAid.

“At age 8, I sold the contents of a mysterious pitcher I found in the refrigerator one unsupervised summer day to neighborhood kids at a ‘lemonade’ stand. It was actually whiskey sours. I was quickly shut down.” Needless to say, she’ll fit right in here. Welcome, Kat!

"Fit right in" with the KoolAid media cult indeed.

wsw చెప్పారు...

Stays on message, is utterly composed. Meanwhile the (polite) journo cannot even look her in the eye. Huge contrast. A+

n.n చెప్పారు...

A girl who looks good, acts composed, possesses an independent mind, and can bring home the oil and change it in the pan.

Maynard చెప్పారు...

A study in confidence. The interviewer cannot maintain eye contact while Sweeney stays locked on throughout this clip.

IMO, the interviewer knew that she was spilling the BS she learned in college. It's like someone who is lying cannot look you in the eye, unless they are sociopaths.

Those Cape Cod Batesies are the worst!

(An inside joke for one of my favorite people).

Today all that interviewers female friends are telling her what a "great" job she did with SS. Heh

RCOCEAN II చెప్పారు...

Models are like actors. They're completely dependent on other people to give them "Work". They have to be extremely careful as to what they say - because they don't want to stray from "The party line" and get cancelled.

Its amazing how a small number of weird leftists have a hold on the public space and can create controversy where none should exist.

RCOCEAN II చెప్పారు...

I kept gettting distracted by the interviewers weird facial expressions.

boatbuilder చెప్పారు...

Actually two of my favorite people...

Leland చెప్పారు...

People? Pound sand boatbuilder.

Lem Vibe Bandit చెప్పారు...

That is so out of character for an actor. Most actors instincts seem to want to, you know, save the world with their opinions and whatever.

She’s my favorite actor, right now.

PM చెప్పారు...

Bait not taken.

Smilin' Jack చెప్పారు...

“The only way this interview could have been better is if Sweeney had dressed in the exact same outfit that she wore in the jeans commercial.”

I suspect she wore the shorts to show that it’s not about the jeans. :-)

PM చెప్పారు...

Besides, some agency copywriter likely wrote the line, got it approved to go to the client who discussed the shit out of it and then gave it to her to say for a lot of money.

Lazarus చెప్పారు...

I won't be listening then either.

Biff చెప్పారు...

When a smiling, up-talking reporter says that she wants to "give you an opportunity to speak about that specifically", she is offering you rope to hang yourself. Sweeney handled the situation like a true pro.
