"Democratic Party hysteria over this issue is obviously absurd because “all of the Epstein files” could have been released over the last four years. There must be reasons why the last administration didn’t take that step, and there should be scandal in MAGA-world if those reasons overlap at all with the Trump administration’s. Between Epstein’s own hysterical rants about Trump in the newly released documents (he sounds like Kathy Griffin in some of the emails) and the blue party’s seeming entanglement with Epstein from the Clintons to Larry Summers to Reid Hoffman,"" it’s hard to imagine where that overlap might be, unless it involves major corporate names and/or overseas relationships. Some of that is suggested in [Dem Virgin Islands delegate Stacey Plaskett’s] story.|

Kakistocracy ayon kay ...

Two days ago, signing a petition to release the Epstein files was considered a treasonous act. Only four House Republicans were willing to do it—and they were immediately pressured, threatened, and harassed by Trump into removing their names.Tomorrow, they’re all going to vote for it.

Because, now they have assurances that Bondi will refuse to release the files because they are part of an active investigation.

Peachy ayon kay ...

No - kak.
It doesn't work like that.
btw- Thomas Massey has it right - and I'm glad.

meanwhile - reality:
"All of a sudden, it seems like everyone is calling for the release of the Epstein files. The MAGA movement is angry at President Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi for not coming through for them and delivering the cabal of rich pedophiles who benefited from relationships with Epstein.

Democrats and other Trump opponents, smelling blood in the water, have joined the calls for transparency on the theory that they might hoist Trump and his attorney general on their own conspiracy-packed petard.

Allow me a moment’s dissent: Have you all lost your minds?

Should the FBI and the Justice Department release willy-nilly their investigative files into a major child-exploitation and human trafficking case involving a large number of victims—given that truly vile conduct directed at them, and an untold number of witnesses who may be wholly innocent of wrongdoing, is likely to be unleashed?

The question answers itself.

For one thing, at least some of the information in the so-called Epstein files is likely grand jury information—that is, information protected by Rule 6(e) of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure—or otherwise protected by court seals. It is illegal to release this material. It’s not a choice the attorney general gets to make: Should I dump all this information into the public domain? She can’t. She shouldn’t. And if she does, she should go to jail.

Attorney General Bondi should resign if she was lying when she declared that she had Epstein’s client list on her desk—something the FBI now says does not exist. If she simply misspoke, she did so recklessly and stupidly and should probably resign anyway. But the solution is not a data dump of material, much of which is properly protected by federal law.

Even among the materials that are not protected by court seals, the Epstein files necessarily contain a wide range of information about victims. Are people seriously calling for this material to be dumped into the public’s hands?"

“Because, now they have assurances that Bondi will refuse to release the files because they are part of an active investigation.”

I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world.

The man I supported and helped get elected.

Aggressive rhetoric attacking me has historically led to death threats and multiple convictions of men who were radicalized by the same type rhetoric being directed at me right now.

This time by the President of the United States.

As a woman I take threats from men seriously.

I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel.

As a Republican, who overwhelmingly votes for President Trump‘s bills and agenda, his aggression against me which also fuels the venomous nature of his radical internet trolls (many of whom are paid), this is completely shocking to everyone.

My phone is blowing up with constant amazing support. I’m so thankful!

This whole info-op can't possibly be intended to convince anyone, so I assume it is an effort to destroy conversation spaces outside the left bubble by polluting them. The bots and paid shills that used to drop only one or two comments are now kind of just spraying things everywhere. So it seems they've given up trying to seem authentic in order to attract attention and waste time, and are now just spamming out many comments fairly indiscriminately in hopes that there will be so much visual clutter that people will abandon the forums.
I wonder who decides on these changes in tactics, because it does seem to be centrally directs, as the phase change happens at the same time on multiple cites.

I've been around for 50+ years. I've seen a lot of movies about WW2, and read a lot of books about it. And this short 38 minute youtube video kind of blew me away. I'd never heard this before. It sums up, clearly and succinctly, how and why the USA won the war.

"The truth is, the vast majority of the German army was a 19th century force. Their supplies, their artillery, their food, all of it was pulled by horses."

Did you know that? Mind-boggling.

buwaya ayon kay ...

Re the youtube presentation. That is, sad to say, an AI generated product that is very common these days. The images are all AI generated and often absurd. A supposed US tank (illustrating a segment about Kasserine Pass) is an amalgam of US WW2, post WW2 and German tanks, which is at least amusing.
The script is also typical of an AI product.
There is something to be said about German analytic failures but it does not quote actual German sources.
The German military certainly was behind in mechanization; the French were much further along in that, btw, in 1940. But there are no cites of sources or statistics.

You see leftists need to be enraged to be engaged and AI is as good a stimulant as reality. Better even. The DHS can’t put out real video to counteract the smears like they do with actual arrests spun by activists (“He was just a dad!” “Here’s his mile long rap sheet and the gun he illegally stashed under his car seat.”). It’s diabolical.

Clever as short term strategy but supremely evil.

Mike Wolf @ 5:15, this sounds like a talking point I’ve heard floating around certain MAGA influencers lately, but I haven’t seen any concrete examples of these supposed AI deepfakes of ICE raids.

Tariffs are great and wonderful and in no way increase prices for Americans which is why we have to reduce the tariffs on select goods to make them more affordable for Americans.

And yes, that $8 a pound for ground beef is the cheapest it’s ever been, even if it did spike because of illegal immigrants bringing over sick cows.

ICE is only arresting hardened criminals, the worst of the worst, which is why 97.4% of the 614 detained in Chicago had no criminal record at all. And these thugs terrorizing our ICE agents, the only reason a conviction never happens is because rogue judges keep believing AI generated videos.

Can you point to a video of ICE arresting babies?

Gospace ayon kay ...

A real video taken out of context can seem very devastating. For example- look at Derek Chauvin being convicted of killing a thug who died of a self inflicted drug overdose because the video made him "look guilty". And he needed to be convicted to stop riots. Convicted of following procedures he was taught to use to restrain violent suspects. Because the videos looked bad.

narciso ayon kay ...

See fall of minneapolis

Ronald J. Ward ayon kay ...

Gospace, those claims don’t square with the facts, or at least what the jury decided. The autopsy and expert testimony showed Floyd didn’t die of an overdose—he died because the restraint cut off his oxygen and no, was not consistent with police training. Chauvin wasn’t convicted because the video ‘looked bad’; the video matched the medical evidence. That’s why the jury convicted him.

Rusty, does ICE arresting a U.S. citizen and driving off with his car and baby count?

Sorry Gospace but I’m a “show me the receipts” kinda guy. My comment was based on what prosecutors presented and what evidence the defense countered. The jury didn’t buy it. Neither do I.

Ronald J. Ward ayon kay ...

After the Defense Intelligence Agency warned Trump that selling F-35s to Saudi Arabia could allow China to acquire the warplane’s technology, thanks to a security partnership between Riyadh and Beijing, Trump responded in an interview;

Q: “Are you planning to sell F-35s to Saudi Arabia?”

Trump: “I am planning on doing that…We’ll be selling F-35s.”

But in an age where a sitting president could molest a grade schooler on 5th Ave and not lose a single supporter, what’s the big deal in jeopardizing our national security by rewarding a foreign authoritarian who’s in a position to reward Trump’s family business?

Jim at ayon kay ...

My comment was based on what prosecutors presented and what evidence the defense countered. The jury didn’t buy it. Neither do I.

I can only hope one day you get a trial as corrupt and biased as the one Chauvin got. Just so you know what it's like to spend the rest of your life sitting in a cell for a crime you didn't commit.

Ronald J. Ward ayon kay ...

Jim, Chauvin’s defense relied on 2 main arguments that were flawed. Floyd may have used drugs but it was proven he died from cardiopulmonary arrest due to extensive subdual, restraint, and neck compression.

The other is that the nine minute neck compression was not compatible with police training. In fact, it’s only to be used as a means to cuff and then proceed with the arrest and removal procedure.

It never helps a defense team to bring claims that falls apart in front of a jury.
