He's giving material that will be snapped up and used to say (once again) that he's a racist. And — that last one — that he is grandiose. But this is what we have now. We (collectively) voted for it. He's not bland. And it is — all of it — comedy. He's keeping our spirits up. Some of us have a good spirit about it. They're laughing — maybe even laughing off the budget crisis. Others of us have inflamed spirits, angry spirits. And according to Trump, they come from hell. They've been giving him hell for years. He's entitled to laugh at them. I'd prefer more dignity, but that's more Trump 45, and what did that get him?

As would I, but that's not the way of the world in politics anymore, and you have to admit Trump is very good at navigating (dominating?) this environment.
From bitter clingers and "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan," to this is a short, straight, red line. Keep the pressure on. Smile and keep firing.
He literally has nothing to lose. He won after they did everything they could, globally, to denigrate him, deny him, charge him, jail him. Hell...they put a vegetable in as President of the United States just to deny him.
But he ended up winning- again. And given that he cannot run again, all chains are off and he has a large segment of the US chuckling at his behavior, his comments. He's got nothing restraining him this time around. They established the rules.
He is merely playing their game by their rules now, and he's merciless with it. They don't like it at all. But they still don't fully get it, and still don't know what to do about it.
And yes, typically, traditionally, we'd prefer more dignity. But given what the left and Democrats have pulled for the past few years- on Trump and all of the rest of us- I think most of us are enjoying the turnabout. Let it play. We'll be back at boring politicians soon enough.

His victories are felt as their victories, his mockery as their own chance to laugh at opponents. During the last government shutdown, the BLS released jobs data, which would seem to suggest that the numbers right now are not exactly great.
If Teabaghag is Ritmo, I reiterate my compassion for that entity. There is something fundamentally, psychologically wrong with him/her, it is not the mark of a well person to behave like this. I suspect we are seeing an expression of profound self-hatred directed outward as an outlet.
I also suspect this is compounded by a sense of personal failure, probably, at least in part, caused by the bitterness of his/her personality.
This is one of the personality types we were given in management seminars 30 years ago. We were warned against this one, regardless of intelligence or skill, malice and resentment will risk disaster. A red flag, a highly likely point of failure, do not under any circumstances put in a responsible position, get rid of ASAP.

I recently ate at a "genuine" Mexican restaurant in Wilcox, AZ, about 50 miles from the Mexican border. My wife and I were the only gringos in the place, and all of the staff and guests spoke Spanish. The food was wonderful and the decor on the walls included Mexican wanted posters from the late 1800s (with the perps wearing sombreros), maps of various areas of Mexico, etc. The primary motif was...the sombrero.

I had a crew of Mexicans doing some cement work for me a few years ago. I hired a local contractor to push the work, and he fielded this crew, one of his many that he uses all over the state. I would guess probably 1/2 of them are undocumented but been here long enough to know passable, heavily-accented English, enough for work anyway. Anyway, a few of them had sombrero style straw hats for the sun. When they were leaving one day, one of the workers called out this buddy, Hey, man - you forgot your Pancho Villa !", referring to the hat his coworker left behind. No sombreros don't bother them, and they all get a laugh out of Trump's trolling. An introspective thinker might wonder why this is.
