The contrast between the patch of blue sky and the dark sacred woods is marvelous!

So if you're a bear and you know eat a skunk does it give you bad breath?

Beautiful picture. Still, I worry about our hostess. We are coming to the end of the 10th month with just 61 days left in the year. Looking to the right, I see just 2432 posts. She can still make 3000 with a little over 9 posts a day.

On the positive side, I sense a lot more pictures.

Better to see a skunk than to smell a skunk.

Living much closer to the Equator in Florida there is less time between sunrise and light or sunset and dark than the upper Midwest. My first driving overland surf trip to Costa Rica back in 1980 was a revelation in that being so close the the Equator was that dark and then daylight was very rapid and then the reverse at sunset with the light to dark happening very quickly.

It's when the critters that live there start moving around.

I've already collected half a large basket of pecans, and only a few leaves have dropped and 95% on the tree are still green. It must have been all the rain we had in July that made them mature early.

It's amazing how noisy a deer moseying around woods full of dried leaves can be.

Beautiful!

In my tree stand Wednesday evening, the leaves were so dry I could hear the deer approaching from 100 yards away. Unfortunately no keepers.

You do have to ask yourself how/why the Miami Herald
has access to alleged war plans. Is it intentional or deep state?

I was equally surprised on my first Summer trip to British Columbia where dusk seemed to last hours...

noisy to a hunter : how about to other critters?

"noisy to a hunter : how about to other critters?"

I was not hunting, but as a boy, I had climbed an apple tree in the woods for a snack, and heard one coming, and it was as loud as any careless person walking through leaves.

The cooler weather mean that deer will start to breed soon, and this time of year they lose their natural wariness. We have a nice buck in our back forest, maybe 5-6 years old, big rack. He's become almost tame, not scared off by the dogs on the leash anymore. We startled him from his nap today on our walk, and he went scampering off, but waited about 50 yds away. With a big rack like that, it's hard to get through the brush without making a lot of noise. We could hear him staying just ahead of us.

Even so, I'm surprised by how bright the sky is. I'm in NYC, only a little closer to the equator, and it's seems darker than that 17 minutes before sunset. Anyway, great photo.

Though maybe the iPhone camera adjusts to low light and increases the exposure, making it seem brighter.

Serene. We hit the sixties this afternoon so I enjoyed a bonus boat outing. Not much friendly weather left this season, which makes it that much sweeter…

Kashyap Patel is yapping yet again. He sent a gazillion agents in a raid of three houses in Dearbornistan.

The video shows numerous FBI vehicles, lights flashing, as a man shouts in Arabic through a megaphone. Numerous flash-bangs and smoke follow, before numerous agents storm into a home, guns drawn.

According to Wayne County property records, the home is owned by Muadh Alsharmandi.

“Sources tell TCD News that at least three FBI raids occurred in the city of Dearborn, including one directly across the street from Fordson High School,” the news site posted to Facebook, along with another video. “The FBI has not released details about the suspects, their possible motives, or whether any schools or public locations were targeted.”

Photos showed the home on Horger Street. According to Wayne County property records, the residence is owned by Saydah Almatari.

“Those officials say the group has a nexus to some form of foreign extremism, but did not say if it was ISIS, Al Qaeda, or some other similar ideology.”

But no foreign attacks were reported anywhere , and the last place that would happen is in Dearbornistan.

So are raccoons and squirrels which wander around at the same time. It took me a few years to be able to tell the difference between the footfall of a deer and a squirrel. Be careful in that deerstand!!
