Yes, we need to be clear which Starship Troopers we are discussing. phantommut stated above, the video game in question is based on the movie, not the book.
The 1997 movie was directed by Paul Verhoeven who is on record as stating he hated the ideas in the book and made the movie as a simplistic paint by the numbers caricature of itself to mock the source material.
There is also the song Starship Trooper by Yes, which took its name from Heinlein’s book, but has unrelated subject matter.
