What the HELL have I just watched?!

Two police officers visit a family home to seize a child's phone for *viewing a social media post*.
If she doesn't comply, they threaten to 'escalate'.
This is terrifying.

Terrifying home invasion by the police in the UK.
You might think this is not possible. I hit the Grok icon and asked if this really is what it appears to be and was told yes:
ADDED: There's some discussion in the comments about the video being edited in a possibly deceptive way. I confronted Grok, and got this response.

Not as terrifying as the home invasion in Communist NYC this month by a whacked out mentally ill black man....(close though...what happened in the UK may just be coming in NYC if Mamdani is elected)

I'm confused. Is it 1984? What is the crime here? Wrongthink?
Ingsoc, or "English Socialism," is the totalitarian political ideology of the ruling Party in George Orwell's 1984. Its primary goal is absolute power and control, achieved through constant propaganda, manipulation of history, psychological torture, and the creation of the language Newspeak to limit thought. The Party's philosophy includes the paradoxical tenets "War is Peace," "Freedom is Slavery," and "Ignorance is Strength," demonstrating its commitment to suppressing independent thinking and establishing total dominance over the citizens of Oceania.
she was tuttle instead of buttle, (Brazil)
Coming to NYC soon.
This kind of thing is why King Charles was crying when Trump reminded him of his abject failure to put the great back into Great Britain.
the female officer has a hijab, notice that,
She's lucky the cops didn't take her daughter and give her to a rape gang.
The UK is already lost. Most of Europe also.
Can't understand a word of it. Do they have marbles in their mouths over there?
Do they have marbles in their mouths over there?
Not anymore. They lost them.
Did the police have a warrant? I would have been provoked into resistance. I guess that is why they disarmed the British population.
This is how the left operates.
They cannot seize power without violence and repression.
What a comedy sketch! Waterloo Sunset indeed.
If I was a Brit politician, I’d run on the platform of enacting our Bill of Rights.
"They cannot seize power without violence and repression."
Socialists cannot exercise power without violence and repression.
of course the respectable dominic grieve has made it possible
Wait until they think you had pork chops for dinner...
look at the president of the oxford union, he can't comprehend that,
Wow!! I love how the sharia enforcer pushed through the doorway. Always best to have a blond blue-eyed wingwoman.

"why do you american's Need ALL Those guns?"
so Our Police can't come into our house and arrest US for 'watching Wrongthink'
dhimmis make the outrage more muted,
In a private WhatsApp group: "Charlie Kirk got shot, let’s fucking go."
On Instagram: "Charlie Kirk got shot loool"
But the President of the Oxford Union isn't getting arrested.
Hm.

Precisely.
The left is at a fundamental level violent and repressive.
"You might think this is not possible."
It's not only possible, it's routine in the UK. Surely someone so well read, news wise, knows this.
Annoying and frustrating but not terrifying. Chilling perhaps? The over exaggerating if situations is crying wolf. Like Van Jones using mortal enemy.
That said, this does definitely get my Irish up. Especially the fact that the thugs are dolled up little girls. It does appear that Britain is slouching towards 1984.
1) This is precisely why our Founders put in the 2nd Amendment. Not to shoot up feckless female police. But because they know the default position of people in government, throughout history and around the world is to run roughshod over individual rights.
2) The UK is done. Unless there is a major breakout of citizen push back (i.e. violence in the streets), they are already well into phasing in censorship countrywide, AND sharia law in some locales.
3) A large segment of Europe is right there as well. France, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, The Netherlands,...all losing their identities. A deadly combination of too many socialists coupled with too many Islamists.
This stuff always starts out slowly. Then one day you wake up and you're living "Darkness at Noon" in real life.
Stay obedient leftist and you wont get shot or imprisoned.
Interesting. Our resident lefties don't have a comment on this one.
Wife and I have not been to London or Europe since 2015, just because of our busyness.
However, with all the changes in Europe, I am way less interested in going back.
In case anyone has forgotten biden did much the same thing to a former President at three AM by FBI in full tactical gear. Not only could it happen here it did happen here. And not just to Trump.
actually the president was out of town, but the wife was at home,
Statement from the Midland Police.
The video is edited. It's the mother who is saying the teen "viewed a post". The officers' description of why they are there was edited out.
"actually the president was out of town, but the wife was at home,"
You're OK with it then.
Hot Fuzz showed how dangerous the Midlands can be,
now that they have gone increasingly more dhimmi
Disinformation circulating around Walsall investigation into indecent messages

We are aware of reports that we are investigating a child for viewing a social media post. This is completely incorrect.
We are investigating after a complaint from a member of the public that a fake social media account had been created in their name and had been used to send indecent messages.
The offence being investigated is one of malicious communications - sending indecent or grossly offensive communication to cause distress or anxiety.
The messages are of an incredibly serious nature and have caused serious concern for the victim.
So, it is investigation of identity theft, and criminalization of speech. Grok was not hallucinating, but offered an incomplete synopsis.
sure, just like the post Sockport roundups,
This is absolutely the wet dream and end goal of the Democrat Party. All those credentialed ladies would love to have this become a reality here in the U.S. Even get to dress up in uniform in solidarity with their hijab-wearing Ilhan Omar squad sisters to serve wrongthink warrants on their icky MAGA neighbors.
I can totally see Inga doing this. And loving it.
as with rotherdam and even the post office scam it took a decade for them to find justice,

Broke sharia law most likely...
Okay so the mum heavily edited her video. But how much did the coppers say? I mean, they could have just said “CID believe your daughter is a victim/witness in an identity fraud/indecent images case. We would like to take her phone back to the lab for analysis.” Then if the mum objects, don’t wind her up even more by talking about warrants and things. Try something like “madam, your daughter may have been interacting online with a real pervert - a very nasty person. Wouldn’t you want us to make sure he can’t keep doing this?” In other words, these young ladies are so used to going straight to coercion that they don’t know any other way. I don’t know why experienced detectives or even civilian counselors weren’t sent instead. If there’s ever an argument for defunding the police and sending non-penal people to a scene, it’s when you make contact with middle class victims and witnesses. CC, JSM
So is this Midland mum has an extreme Mean Girl, or the original highly disturbing claim?
yeah doesn't make much sense, how about go after the fraudster, not the victim
Cops at the door?
I don’t know what the law is in UK but don’t even open the door.
It is not funny, only because the police were serious. However, the cop saying she didn't like the camera should be ridiculed and embarrassed. "I don't like your camera". If you were in public in wouldn't matter, but the woman is in her own home and you have no ground for complaint. No, your camera isn't sufficient evidence, and frankly your complaint about being videoed is enough to cause doubt that any other statement you make is official and sanctioned.
with all the changes in Europe, I am way less interested in going back.
I have strong ties to the UK, but I never intend to return there. Too great a risk of becoming a political prisoner.
I asked Chat and was told the USA is the only country in the world that protects hate speech. Wasn’t aware that our system is so unique - in a good way.
and in this red queen universe, the victim has to prove her innocence, instead of vice versa, see rotherdam
Maybe Trump should start running guns to the civilian population of (formerly) Great Britain.
My interpretation of this story is that the daughter is the one being accused of creating a fake account, not that she is being considered the victim of such fraud. I will wait to see how this plays out.
My wife is supposed to travel to the UK for a few weeks on Wednesday, so let me say clearly that I don't think those little coppettes should be violently raped.
The cops' version of the story seems likelier to be true. Though I'd be more comfortable saying that if they'd released the bodycam footage, which they say they've elready reviewed. Perhaps they still will.
I saw this video posted to reddit too. Same reaction about how bad the police are and only a few noticing the video is edited. I guess the daughter got her social media skills from her mom.
However, the cop saying she didn't like the camera should be ridiculed and embarrassed.
Leland, but look at what the attention the mother got with her edited video that misrepresents why the police are there. It turns out that the officer's concern about being videoed was valid. The mom smeared them, pretending they were there because her daughter "viewed" a post, not because she created a fake profile and posted something "indecent or grossly offensive". According to the Midlands Police comment, they had already had several interactions so the officers may have had reason to suspect shenanigans.
I'm wondering if the girl's post was something like what happened in this story. (PA mom posted deepfake images and videos to cyberbully her daughter's cheer squad.)
Utterly revolting. We should be arming moderate rebels.
Are these cops on a high school internship?
they have removed all doubt in the last few years
Here in our small Wisconsin city, similar tactics are already occurring. Several city residents received "cease and desist" letters from city attorney, for social media posts and public hearing statements that challenge huge ($400 million) new spending initiatives of this city administration.
UK free speech crackdown sees up to 30 people a day arrested for petty offenses such as retweets and cartoons
This is a democrat, liberal fever dream.

I’ve been to Europe many times and was stationed in Germany for 2 years. Between the crime (with people who try to defend themselves being arrested) and the governments arresting people for saying “controversial” things, I have little interest in returning. Some of the Eastern European countries still interest me, but not the Western European ones.
Wow @ Narr 10:51.
Normally you guys do not openly speak of what we all know you think.
its instructive no teleplay like line of duty has addressed those events I spelled out before, only one author, stephen leather an old time news paperman, turned thriller writer
The mum said they were going to come to the police station, that should’ve been good enough for the two cops. If the mum and daughter with the phone didn’t show up, then the phone could’ve been confiscated with a subpoena in another trip to the home. I don’t know if that’s how it’s done in the UK though. These two were overly aggressive.
the UK allows the West Bank coordinator for Hamas, who has been directed the flotillas among other actions to roam free,
"Normally you guys do not openly speak of what we all know you think."
That the cops shouldn't be violently raped? I would think that speaks well of Narr.
@Mary Beth, @n.n., I don’ see why people should believe some cock and bull excuse posted by the Midlands police, or any other police force anywhere in the UK. It’s not as though they’ve covered themselves with honor and glory (C.f., rape gangs, rape gangs that included police officers, people arrested for waving their country’s flag).
So what if the mother edited the video? She filmed it; it’s hers.
Violent rape is in those girls' futures--and the futures of many other women, if the Muzzie invasion isn't stopped.
Sad.
n.n. Sounds to me like the police are doing a CYA statement. Those crazy women still entered the house. How many times did the mother say I want you out?
Also Original Mike: our hostess reads the NYT, WaPo and The Atlantic. Stories similar to this are all over X. There are arrests frequently-last one I saw was a man flying the Union Jack ON HIS OWN HOME but because Muslims in his neighborhood said they were triggered police did a 4am knock & arrest on a 70+ yo man.
Anyone else remember the woman who was praying SILENTLY in front of an abortion clinic and her arrest?
“ In video clips of the 2022 arrest that went viral, Vaughan-Spruce explained to police that she was not protesting but was simply "praying in my head". Despite this, she was charged with protesting and intimidating service users. The abortion clinic was closed at the time. After being acquitted of all charges in February 2023, she was rearrested in March 2023 for again silently praying within the buffer zone.” she ended up getting a settlement but this is like a correction in the NYT on page 13. People hear the first story and are intimidated into not doing what this woman did.
"The police emphasized that they were seeking voluntary cooperation to gather evidence, not making an arbitrary demand."
There was nothing "voluntary" about this.
Not sure why the police come across as treating the citizens like suspects instead of victims if they were investigating a fraudulent account.
Big Mike: I commented on the official apology, only to note the accuracy and discrepancy in its narration from the context in which it has been posted.
