It occurred to me from comments in a previous thread how I am old enough* to remember when the left championed separation of Church and State, but now they seem to be mad that Trump ISN'T exhibiting the correct Christian behavior as POTUS.

As we were streaming out of the stadium I realized I forgot where I parked my car. I immediately woke up. Trying to find my car among 100,000 other cars - now that’s a nightmare.

Okay I would like to get the brain trust’s help on a jazz question. We are getting close to Halloween, and I remember that jazz stations used to play a record that had some bebop-style riffings and a guy with a cheesy accent doing spoken word that included the phrase “I’m a jazz wampire.” (Yes, with the W like Mr Chekhov).
Can anyone identify this record? note: it is NOT “I’m a Jazz Vampire” from Marion Harris in the 1920s. The one I am looking for must be from the 50s or 60s and has a male vocalist.

The function of any government is to protect it's people- not any other people. How to protect? That's a matter of debate. So our government, quite frankly, should not be providing any healthcare to foreign nationals in other countries.
Should Christians be doing so? Well, they are. As are Jews. Not so much anyone else. There are no Hindu, Muslim, or Buddhist hospitals in the USA, nor, curiously, LDS hospitals. The LDS Church divested itself of hospitals many years ago.
There are (estimated) 3 million Hindu, 3.3 million Muslim, and 1.2-3 million Buddhist depending on who you count as Buddhist...
7.5 million Jews and >6 Jewish hospitals listed by google AI.
53 million Catholics and hundreds of Catholic hospitals. Hunting down Protestant hospitals a little more difficult, since the category isn't kept separately. Baptist, Methodist, 7th Day Adventist, and Episcopalian, among many others, exist.
Now search "faith based hospitals in" country. Any country. Doesn't matter. The vast majority are Catholic, 7th Day Adventist, other Protestant denominations, and Jewish. Including in countries that are majority any other religion. All supported by PRIVATE donations, primarily, but not only, from the USA. Iran has a Jewish hospital still in operation- though the mullahs appear to have closed all the Christian ones. Muslim hospitals in non-muslim countries? Yeah, right. Hindu or Buddhist hospitals in areas without Hindus or Buddhists? Non-existent.
So as a Christian, doesn't bother me at all that my government is reducing healthcare service in other countries. Not it's job. If I want to fund them- or any other Christian does- we can, and do, contribute to organizations specifically for doing so.

The families claim they were harassed at their homes by school district personnel, including a school social worker, after failing to comply with the diploma request.
The lawsuit names the social worker, the superintendent, and the assistant superintendent as defendants."

None of us "deserve" First Amendment protection. The right is assumed to be innate; the Amendment prohibits it from being abridged.

A stray thought re Trump and his hating his opponents line…. It’s possible that it was an intentional distancing from the evangelical sect of Christianity that was embodied by Kirk et al.
