ADDED: This makes me think Jordan Peterson's oft-stated idea about man-on-man conflict. Knowing that it could turn into a physical fight enhances the communication. Sample Peterson quote: "When men are talking to each other that underlying threat of physicality is always there and it keeps the thing civilized."

I've seen two respected senior doctors come within a hair's breadth of a fistfight at a medical staff meeting.
It did help clarify the issue and convince everyone that a definitive resolution was required, instead of pushing it off the table until the next meeting.
The problem was solved with a few compromises from both sides, and within six weeks they were acting like old chums again. If they had been female, I suspect they never would have spoken to each other again for the rest of their careers.

Any time I walk into a public place, whether a bar or a church, I do a quick scan to identify men who "can handles themselves" and potential threats.
How can Bessent who owes so much to George Soros — join a movement that has vilified Soros so disgracefully for decades? Suggests a certain lack of integrity.

Re Peterson’s comment, I made that point to a friend this weekend over the Phillies foul ball incident. The woman also argued with a guy wearing an Eagles jersey who was heckling her from his seat. I hadn't realized Mr. Petersen had addressed this, but I've long thought one of the deficits of college educated women managers is lack of fear of physical retribution which is present in normal male interactions. Similar- but not identical. Both unlawful. I do know people who legally have two mortgages that were taken out as their primary residence. Mortgages taken out years apart. And the second time they were moving into the 2nd residence, making it their primary. A refinance of the first mortgage isn't required if circumstances change. Not fraud. Two mortgages taken out weeks apart? Both claimed as primary residence? Fraud.

Also property tax status is not the same thing as a bank regulator claiming multiple homes as primary to obtain favorable loan rates from the entities which she regulates. A few weeks ago I commented about Bessent on Morning Schmoe and how he used verbal judo to keep the multiple interviewers from ganging up on him.
So I find it hard to believe he would descend into James Cagney tough-guy mode when just one whippersnapper wants to take him on. More likely he'd employ a pregnant pause and then say something along the lines of "here's what's going to happen to the economy if you get the President to do that. Point 1, point 2,..., point n. And when we're still at about Step 3, I will walk into the Oval, hand the President my resignation, and suggest that he give YOU my office. Will you be ready for that?"

I think Scott Bessent is a habitual liar but I appreciate that behind the scenes he keeps threatening to beat up all the worst people in the Trump administration who seem to all be pretty afraid of him.
